Lamp of Ethereal Azure

Wondrous item, rare (does not require attunement)

"In realms of blue ethereal light,

A wondrous lamp ignites the night."

The Lamp of Ethereal Azure is a wondrous magical artifact fashioned from a single piece of translucent blue crystal that encases an ever-burning magical flame within. It takes the form of a small, exquisitely designed lamp suspended from a delicate silver chain, intended to be comfortably worn around the waist.

To activate the lamp's magic, the wearer need to speak the command word, "Luminos Azure" and gently stroke the lamp's smooth surface with a fingertip. When activated, the lamp emanates a soft, calming blue dim light in a 30-foot radius that last for a duration of 1 minute. You can activate the lamp as a free action once per short rest.

Vision through the Veil: When active, the lamp infuses the wearer's melee weapon attacks with radiant energy. Melee weapon attacks made by the wearer deal an additional 2 radiant damage to creatures within the illuminated area. Furthermore, the lamp allows the wearer to sense invisible creatures within this light. However, the elusive nature of invisible foes makes targeting them accurately challenging. Any attempts to attack them are done with disadvantage.

Colossus Cleaver

Weapon (greataxe), very rare (requires attunement by a fighter of barbarian)

“Big… strong… slash. There will be no witness.”

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Colossus Cleaver is a formidable greataxe infused with ancient magic. Its handle is crafted from sturdy oak and the blade is forged from a unique blend of adamantium and mithril, granting it exceptional strength and lightness.

Giant's Might (Active Ability): Once per day, the wielder can activate the enchantment by speaking the command word "Colossify." When activated, the axe emits a brilliant flash of light, engulfing the wielder instantly growing in size, becoming Large for a duration of 1 minute. This increase in size brings numerous benefits:

  • Strength Increase: The wielder's Strength score increases by 2 while they are enlarged.
  • Cleaver's Reach: While the Giant's Might is active, the range of the Colossus Cleaver increases by 5 feet due to its increased size.
  • Crushing Blow: Attacks made with Colossus Cleaver while under the effect of Giant's Might deal an additional 1d6 damage.
  • Limit Breaker (Passive Effect): When the wielder reduces a creature to 0 hit points while under the effect of Giant's Might, they regain a number of hit points equal to their level plus their Constitution modifier.

The Paws of the Agile Lynx are a pair of sleek leather boots that embody the grace and agility of the elusive lynx. These boots expertly crafted, are adorned with delicate patterns reminiscent of the lynx's markings. When worn, they bestow upon their wearer enhanced speed, agility, and the uncanny ability to maneuver with the grace of a feline predator.

You gain +2 to Dexterity while wearing this item.

Feline Swiftness: While wearing the Paws of the Agile Lynx, the wearer's movement speed is increased by 5ft.

Evasive Reflexes: You gain +10 bonus to Acrobatics.

Leaping Grace: As a bonus action, you can leap 30ft horizontally and up to 10ft vertically to an unoccupied space without provoking attack of opportunity. You gain advantage on the next attack roll this turn. You can use this ability once per short rest.

Mirror Shield of Swapping

Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)

“In the myriad reflections of the Mirror Shield, perception dances with deception.”

The face of this shield is perfectly polished, so that it reflects everything like a mirror.

While wielding this shield, you get +1 bonus to Armor Class, in addition to the shield's normal bonus AC.

Mirroring Shift: As an action, you choose one humanoid creature 40 feet away that can see you and utter the command word "Swap". You force the creature to make a Charisma DC 15 Saving Throw. On a fail save you switch places with it. After using this ability, you will not be able to use it again until you take a long rest. You can't force an ally to switch places if they don't want to.

Glacial Shard Dagger

Weapon (dagger), very rare (requires attunement)

"The ice was here, the ice was there,

It cracked and growled, and roared and howled,
Like nature's frigid sound!"

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

It is said that the dagger is infused with the purest essence of ice magic. Its blade, carefully shaped from enchanted shards harvested from the heart of a mighty ice elemental.

When you hit with an attack using this magic dagger, the target takes an extra 1d6 cold damage. In addition, while you are attuned to it, you have resistance to cold damage and you are unaffected by difficult terrain caused by ice or icy surfaces.

Frozen Path: When you successfully hit a creature with this dagger, a surge of arctic power emanates from the blade, transforming the ground into difficult terrain within a 15-foot radius around the target. The icy terrain persists until the start of your next turn, hindering movement and impeding foes.

Toyama's Madness

Weapon (flail), very rare (requires attunement)

“Cackling like madman, the warrior swung the flail in a large arch, hitting the hobgoblin. The echo of a maddening chorus of laughing men burst on forth and the eyes of the creature opened in a terrified expression, his body stiff like a board, his hand unable to hold onto his weapon who fell on the ground with a clang. Grinning, the warrior raised the flail again...”

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

This flail has an whimsical but well crafted design. The heads of the flail are adorned with a grotesque, exaggerated laughing face on each side, hanging at the end of a long chain. On a successful hit, an echoing cacophony of laughter burst out of the weapon striking deep in the mind of the target with a paralyzing force.

Madness Echo: Whenever you score a critical hit against a creature of Large size or smaller, the target must make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d8 psychic damage and becomes Incapacitated until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and is not incapacitated.

About August release and some Sneak Peek

We have some important news to share about the next version of our FVTT module (v11.0.2) and the recent Foundry VTT update to v11. As some of you may already know, Foundry VTT's update from v10 to v11 included a significant change to the Database Engine. This change affects the way items are stored and exported into the compendium.

This leads to a compatibility issue: If we, as developers using v11, export an item and share the module, those still using v10 will not be able to see these newly exported items. You'll only be able to see items exported from v10 or earlier.

As of now, FVTT doesn't have a backward compatibility solution for this. Therefore, we strongly recommend all users to upgrade to Foundry VTT v11 to fully experience and enjoy the new items and features that our module will offer in the upcoming and future releases. We appreciate your understanding and continued support!

Glove of Divine Light

Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement by a good-aligned spellcaster)

“Oh, radiant hope, divine and true,
When shadows loom and sunlight's through,
May those who strive for what is just,
Find solace in your sacred trust.

With grace bestowed upon the hand,
By noble hearts, by courage grand,
Its wearer wields a sacred might,
With powers blessed, with radiant light.

Bathed in light, we stand as one,
A noble fight, our battles won.
But choices made, both right and wrong,
Can echo in our life's sweet song."

The glove grants a +3 bonus to melee spell attack rolls.

This magical glove is made of a pure white material that never gets dirty. It is adorned with intricate golden trim, and when worn by a good-aligned creature it radiates a warm and comforting light.

Sacred Purification: As an action, the wearer can reach out and touch a creature within 5 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against the wearer's spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d10 + 1d10 per level of the caster as radiant damage. If the creature has less than half of its maximum hit points and fails the saving throw by 5 or more, it is instantly slain. Upon the target's sudden demise, a random side effect is triggered on the wearer of the glove. If the target makes a successful save, it only takes half the damage.

After using this ability the wearer must recite the prayer in daylight to use it again.

The Glove of Divine Light has two additional variants:

  1. Glove of Divine Light (Very Rare)
    Bonus to Melee Spell Attack Rolls: This variant provides a +2 bonus.
    Sacred Purification: This ability still allows the wearer to deal radiant damage. However, the damage dealt is reduced to 1d8 + 1d8 per level of the caster. If the targeted creature has less than half its maximum hit points and fails its saving throw, it becomes paralyzed. A random side effect is also triggered on the wearer, which is determined by a roll of 1d6 instead of 1d10 as in the legendary version. The effects from the good/bad pool are mapped to the dice results from 1 to 6.
  2. Glove of Divine Light (Rare)
    Bonus to Melee Spell Attack Rolls: The rare variant provides a +1 bonus.
    Sacred Purification: This ability allows the wearer to deal radiant damage to a creature within 5 feet. The damage is 1d6 + 1d6 per level of the caster. If the targeted creature has less than half its maximum hit points and fails its saving throw, it becomes blinded until it can pass a Constitution saving throw at the end of one of its turns. Unlike the other variants, no side effect is triggered in the Rare version.

Nux Hemera

Wondrous item, rare (does not require attunement)

"A ring of silver and gold, a celestial tale intricately told. By sunlight's grace, healing springs forth, while night's embrace secrets untold."

Blending the beauty of gold and silver in its craftsmanship, the ring features two distinct female faces, skillfully sculpted to represent the celestial bodies of the sun and the moon.

The Nux Hemera possesses 3 charges, all replenished following a long rest.

As an action you can expand 1 charge and restore 4d4 hit points to a creature you can touch with the palm of your hand. A beacon of hope and salvation in dire times.

Hidden Power

After sunset, the essence of the ring shifts, changing from a fountain of healing to a pit of necromantic pain. When used to heal at night, it instead deals 4d4 necrotic damage to the creature.

Variant

A less potent, uncommon variant of the Nux Hemera that holds only 2 charges. Despite its reduced capacity, it retains the original's dual nature, bestowing 2d4 healing during the day and inflicting 2d4 necrotic damage at night.

Boss Loot Modules Update for Foundry v11

Good news, everyone! Over the past couple of days, we have been working hard to ensure that Boss Loot Advanced and Basic are compatible with Foundry VTT v11. We have also updated the module version numbering to match the Foundry version. Additionally, we are removing Tokenmagic from the list of dependencies. As you may or may not know, when updating any module in Foundry, the tokens that were already present in a scene before the update may not function correctly. It is considered good practice to delete all tokens and re-add them to the scene.

This version is compatible with Foundry 10 - Build 291 as well.

CHANGELOG 11.0.0

1. DESCRIPTION UPDATES

- Updated descriptions for better clarity and understanding. The updates include:
  • Destabilizator v3: Adjusted the chat descriptions after a hit.
  • Shockalus v2: Updated the Whirlwind Impact Ability description. The ability now pushes only creatures of Large size or smaller.

Swift Strike - Interactive Automated Magic Items for Foundry VTT

Swift Strike

Weapon (shortsword), rare (requires attunement)

“The air crackles as the blade glows with electricity. With a flash of lightning, the wielder charges forward with incredible speed, piercing through every foe in his way with the magical sword.”

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you hit with an attack using this magic sword, the target takes an extra 1d6 lightning damage. In addition, while you hold the sword, you have resistance to lightning damage.

Lightning Fast (Active Ability): As an action, you can choose an unoccupied space within a 30-foot line in front of you. You then charge forward at extreme speed, attacking every enemy in your path without provoking any opportunity attacks. Each creature you hit takes an additional 1d6 lightning damage. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until after a long rest.

Wyrm Bond

Armor (light), legendary (requires attunement)

Deep in the jungle, the elf finally caught up with the strange creature he had been tracking for hours. Watching it from a distance, he suddenly begins to whisper, "Worm, scry this creature and tell me its strengths and weaknesses."

A small, dragon-like creature made of shimmering blue and silver arcane energy manifested from his armor. "This creature is far beyond your physical strength and agility, Master, but your skill in the secrets of magic and your experience in combat are superior."

The elf thought for a moment and then said, "Worm, continue to study the creature in detail and prepare me for battle. I need to know what spells I should use and what strategies will be most effective."

To which the worm replied, "Master, this will cost you a portion of your life force."

"Do it," the elf said, "We must face it..."

Sentience and Communication

This armor is a sentient magical symbiote represented by some characteristics seen in dragons. It has an Intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 18 and a Charisma of 16. He can speak, and can manifest physically under certain circumstances or when spoken to. You can address the symbiote as "Worm" or "Wyrm".

The Wyrm does not want to leave his host and once you don this armor, you can't doff it unless you make a Charisma check contested by the Wyrm Wisdom. You need to have a good argument to convince him. You can try this only when you level up your character. If you try to doff it in any other way you die.

Powers

The symbiote feeds off the wearer's energy, vitality, and magical power, which in return gives it various advantages in battle. Each time you use one of the active abilities, you must say the activation word "Worm" and the name of the ability. The symbiote will feed on 10% of your current and maximum hit points. Missing maximum hit points are only recovered when the character levels up. The symbiote can feed on up to 50% of your initial maximum hit points to complete the symbiosis. When this has been achieved you will receive a new ability randomly from a pool of other abilities and any ability you use will no longer deduct your hit points.

  • This armor offers no protection to the wearer.
  • You can ask the symbiote about a creature's advantages and disadvantages before combat.
  • Spells of 4th level or lower need no ingredients or arcane focus.
  • Dual Spell (Active Ability): This ability lasts for 2 turns. During combat, you can cast spells of level 4 or lower as a bonus action (requires feeding the symbiote 10% hit points from your current and maximum hit points. Missing maximum hit points, are only recovered, when the character levels up.
  • Find Weakness (Active Ability): This ability requires a weapon in hand and lasts 2 turns. During combat you ignore all buffs but you are immune to all conditions, you cannot cast spells, you have no bonus action, as an attack action you make a single attack with a +5 bonus and the attack always has advantage and critical damage (requires feeding the symbiote 10% hit points from your current and maximum hit points. Missing maximum hit points, are only recovered, when the character levels up.
  • Last Breath (Temporary Effect): When you take lethal damage in combat, the symbiote can make you invulnerable for 2 turns. This requires a lot of energy so you need to have at least 5 current hit points to trigger the "Last Breath" effect. Once activated, your current hit points will be reduced to 1.

Armor (light armor), legendary (requires attunement)

“The bandit walked down the dimly lit street, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't shake the feeling that someone, or something, was following him. He continued to look over his shoulder, but all he could see was his own shadow, elongated by the flickering street lamps. Suddenly, he heard a voice whisper in his ear, "No matter how fast you run, you can't outrun the shadows." The man froze in horror. He felt a cold blade piercing his back, pain rushing through his body. He looked down and saw the blade coming out from his chest and blood pouring out, staining the pavement. He knew it was too late for forgiveness.”

You have a +2 bonus to AC while wearing this armor. While attuned with it you have advantage on Stealth check.

Shadow Dwelling: As a bonus action, you can choose a shadow of a creature you can see. You inhabit that creature's shadow for up to 1 minute or until you choose to end it. While in the shadow, your vision becomes monochromatic, and your vision range is limited to 5 feet. You gain immunity to all damage but you are vulnerable to Radiant damage. You can only be seen with Truesight or Blindsight.

Exhaustion: When you step out of the shadow, you gain 1 level of Exhaustion. Every time you use your action, you must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 15) to maintain your presence within the shadow. On a failed save, you automatically step out from the shadow.

Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Deadly Strike: As an action, you can make one attack from the creature's shadow and you can only target the creature whose shadow you currently inhabit. This attack has advantage and triple damage. If you reduce the target to 0 hit points with this attack, you can use "Shadow Dwelling" again on your next turn.

Circlet of Energy Absorption

Wondrous item, (requires attunement)

“The magical circlet glowed with an otherworldly radiance, shimmering with the power of the elements. As you placed the circlet upon your head, the halo above it seemed to pulse with a strange life of its own, its gentle glow an unspoken promise of untold power.”

This magic circlet radiate elemental energy. A large thin halo hovers above your head while you wear it. The circlet has 3 charges.

Damage Resistance: On your turn in combat, as a bonus action you can expend 1 charge to activate its magic power. You gain resistance from: fire, cold, lightning and thunder damage. If you take damage from an attack/spell that you have resistance the effect ends and the halo above your head absorbs some of the incoming energy.

Release Energy: You release the energy stored in the halo, the first time you hit with an attack on your next turn. The target takes an extra 2d8 damage of the damage type you resisted.

After activation, the magic power of the circlet also ends at the end of the combat or in max 10 rounds.

“With a commanding gesture and a wave of her hand, the elven adventurer pointed her bracer at the imposing figure blocking the door. A shining chain burst forth from the magical bracer and with a crack of energy, wrapped around the figure, dragging him to the ground with a loud thump. "Let's have a conversation," she said calmly.”

This bracer is made of a dark metal, with a single gem affixed to the top of it. A magical chain can be seen coiled around the bracer, the links shimmering with a faint magical energy. When the gem is pressed, the chain extends out from the bracer, allowing the user to grab and pull a creature toward them.

This item has 2 charges. It regains expended charges after a short rest. As an action, you can expend 1 charge to use the bracer chain to attempt to grab and pull a creature 40 feet away toward you. You make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (the target chooses the ability to use). If you succeed, the target is Restrained until the start of your next turn.

This ancient magical helm is made of a shimmering, silver metal, with two large horns extending out of the sides. It is adorned with intricate carvings of ancient symbols and runes, giving it a mysterious and intimidating look. When worn, it grants its wielder the power to charge at a target and knock them to the ground with a powerful shockwave.

With a mighty shout, you use your move action and charge at least 20 feet to the target. Then as an action make a Strength saving throw attack. The target must make a Dexterity save with a DC equal to 10 plus your Strength modifier. On a fail save, the creature takes 4d4 bludgeoning damage, is thrown through the air 15 feet back, is knocked prone and is Incapacitated until the end of its turn. If the save succeeds, it takes half the damage and it will not be thrown through the air.

The guard is crafted in the shape of a skull, its eye sockets glowing with an eerie red light. The blade itself is long and sleek, with a deadly razor-sharp edge.

Powers

Infinite Arrows: You do not require ammunition for firing this bow. The arrows are magical and deal force damage.

Vortex Arrow (Active Ability): As an action, you must say the activation phrase "The Void of the Universe will consume you!", you can materialize a vortex arrow. Choose a point within the weapon's normal range where the arrow will land. The arrow causes gravity to collapse, creating a vortex that lasts until the start of your next turn, dealing 6d8 Force damage in a 20 feet radius and forcing each creature within to make a Dexterity Saving Throw with a DC equal to your Spellcasting ability. On a fail save the creature is pulled towards the point of impact and is Incapacitated until the start of your next turn. Those who succeeded the Saving Throw will take half as much damage and they will not get Incapacitated.

After using this ability, the bow will enter a state of chaotic vibration and you will not be able to use "Vortex Arrow" ability until a day has passed.

Stormforger

Weapon (quarterstaff), legendary (requires attunement by a sorcerer, warlock, druid or wizard)

“"Behold the power of the great storm!" the wizard shouted, as the orb on top of the staff began to swirl with a furious intensity. "Feel its wrath, and fear its might!" The air around crackled with raw energy, and the winds began to howl. Lightning bolts flew from the staff, crashing into the ground and sending shock waves through the air. The storm was coming, and no one could stand in its way.”

The Stormforger Staff is a majestic weapon, carved from a single piece of ancient, lightning-struck wood. The staff's surface is adorned with intricate engravings of swirling winds and bolts of lightning, and it is topped with a large, glowing orb made of pure crystal. The orb pulsates with energy, and it can be seen to contain miniature tempests within it. The staff is lightweight and it gives off a faint hum when held.

This staff is not made for melee attack but while you hold it, you gain a +2 bonus to range spell attack rolls.

The staff has 10 charges. It regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges after a long rest. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 20, the staff regains 2d4 + 2 charges.

Powers

While holding the staff, you can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following abilities from it, using your spell save DC and spellcasting ability modifier:

Tornado Takedown: Expending 2 charges allows the wielder to summon a tornado that travels to a creature within 60 feet. The creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, on a failed save it takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage and 2d6 lightning damage, and is Incapacitated until the end of your next turn. On a successful save it takes half as much damage and is not Incapacitated.

Aerial Ascension: Expending 5 charges allows the wielder to harness the power of the tempest, summoning a whirlwind beneath their feet and allowing them to fly for 10 minutes. The maximum altitude that can be reached while flying is 30 feet.

Thunderstorm of Misery: Expending 9 charges allows the wielder to unleash the full potential of the Stormbringer Staff, summoning a powerful storm that rages around them in a 50-foot radius for 1 minute. The storm creates dangerous terrain, making the ground slippery and filled with debris, making it difficult for creatures within the area of effect to move around. The howling winds, lightning strikes and heavy rain make it hard for creatures to see or hear, imposing disadvantage on any perception checks made while within the storm. The storm also unleashes bolts of lightning, forcing creatures within the affected area, to make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save they take 8d6 lightning damage, or half as much on a successful one.

"As the enemy approached, Captain Abelard raised his warhammer, with a determined look on his face. "You'll not be getting any closer, friend," he said with a smirk. The enemy charged forward, only to be knocked back with a sudden force. "What was that?" they cried, holding their head. "Oh, just a little something I call Distanceectomy," replied Abelard, winking. "It has a way of keeping people from getting too close."

The hammerhead is crafted in the shape of two palm hands in a stop position, as if halting the enemy in their tracks. In the center of the hammer's head rests a precious gemstone, radiating a faint and mesmerizing purple hue that seems to shift and change with the light. The handle of the hammer is made from a rare, black wood, which seems to absorb light, giving it a dark appearance.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

This warhammer requires 16 Strength or higher to wield.

Destabilizing Attack (Passive Ability): every time you hit with this hammer, and if the target size is Tiny, Small, Medium or Large, it must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you push the target 5 feet away from you and take 1d8 force damage, on a successful save the target only take half of the force damage and it is not pushed away.
