Devlog #39 - Dekamara

Hello everyone! Since the last devlog, I’ve been busy with Oh Sheep and some commission work I took. Last month we had to travel for the expo and visit some relatives while we were at it and we’ve been away from home for a while, which made the whole process a little bit slower. Well we are home now and I’ve been coming up with some new ideas for Dekamara as well, and since our new character design started to take shape, I’ll also start working on the upcoming update.

Devlog #38 - Upcoming Dekamara Content + Patreon Changes

Hey everyone!

Since the release we've been continuing development, not just Dekamara but Kalyzmyr as well. For Dekamara, I’ve been working on bug fixes and new levels while ShySeel is working on new characters.

I’m currently adding new maps. Maps won’t be as big as the previous version mostly, and the game will gradually introduce new mechanics and puzzles with each new level and start mixing those to create complex levels.

Dekamara v0.14 Release

  • Fixed killing plants causing crash when game is loaded from a save data that belongs to earlier versions.
  • Fixed an area which would prevent players going back, which was unintended.
  • Added bug tracking.

This is probably the last patch for the v0.1, v0.2 will be ready in a month with new levels and girls!

Devlog #37

Hello everyone, lately my focus is all over the place. I've been awfully busy and couldn’t really find energy to write anything. But here I am.

As you may know, we were working with a publisher on Kalyzmyr, even though it was a great experience and they were an awesome publisher to work with, we couldn’t agree on some parts of the contract so we decided to part our ways. Hello everyone! I just quickly wanted to say that I’m done with the 5.6.0, there is just one bug that prevents characters from teleporting, which results in some scenes missing them(like Alicia if you go to intercept bandits before she walks all the way there). Other than that, there isn’t much else left to do. The update is ready, but I’ll be busy for the next 10 days or so, so expect a public release at the beginning of November. Last month we participated in an event and Kingdom Lost earned its place in the semi-finals, so we are going to an expo to promote our game and present it to the jury for the finals. There isn’t much to report this week, because lately I’ve been feeling more and more exhausted and I felt like I needed a break. I usually find working relaxing and fun, so I think it’s mostly because we’ve moved to a new house in the previous month and there are lots of things that have changed in our lives, I guess adapting to those changes can be tiring. I also had to work extra for a game contest we participated in, which also delayed the release and put me under some stress.

Pausing Patreon

 I’m pausing our Patreon until we release a new version and I get enough sprites to work on the next update after the release. I’m unmotivated and depressed since I still didn’t get sprites and couldn’t work towards the next update and literally couldn’t do anything this week. I don’t want this to keep happening so I’ll make sure that there are enough sprites to work on before I activate our Patreon again.

  • I’ve been polishing the first area, Secret Tunnel, since it’s pretty bad. If I had a chance, I’d never make our players suffer through that area, but we are currently lacking sprites so I’m trying to do my best with what I have.  Unfortunately ShySeel has been sick this whole week and basically spent her week in bed. I also got sick while I was taking care of her but fortunately not as bad as her. She mostly recovered though, so nothing to worry about but, our trip back home was delayed as a result, which is unfortunate.

Since last week, I noticed that the bug that causes riposte to hit multiple times if the last combatant died by riposte skill, it’ll crash since the instance it’s trying to reach doesn’t exist anymore. After implementing the bug tracking feature, it was a lot easier to track bugs even the ones that people didn’t report. So far I fixed:

  • Crash at Grimshear's gate when entering the area in princess dress(thanks to a user feedback)
