Ok so last month I got a fair amount of work done but not the things I specifically wanted. That's actually a good start: it means productivity isn't the issue anymore even when I have a few disasters (and thank you again for everyone who offered help or reached out, I really appreciate the thought, honestly).

September Art Dump

I always get upset with myself and feel like I accomplished nothing until it's time to do the art dump and realize I had actually gotten work done. They are amazingly useful for reminding myself of positive progress. 

I am behind on comic updates for the month and illustrations though - which means I have a lot of catch-up to do next month; which isn't bad really, a lot of what went wrong this month was just outside my control and I can't beat myself up too much about it like usual...

Computer Pooped

Twins Update 9

Not a lot going on this week: working on Patreon illustrations distracted me and I am hoping to get one of them worked out and finished this weekend. First page of thumbnails doesn't have much touch up work on it, I'm basically done with inks on those until I add in background characters. Twins Update 8

I plan to keep working all night on this but I didn't want to post late. Besides, good progress for showing so far; change in schedule is paying off. Finished inks on three more pages, did some minor corrections and layout/panel order corrections (mostly to offset some size inconsistencies) and got most of a fourth page inked.

Redesigning Candice's Haircut

I have been unhappy with Candice's hair for a long time at this point (the cotton candy puffball hair is cute but its frustrating to visualize as actual hair). Considering that Candice is functionally the reincarnation of Ko from the old Poisonwind site; I tried using some of Ko's old design to polish up Candice, and I really like the end result.

So this is probably going to be her canon look. Will work on a proper ref sheet after inking pages this week.

September is a Month (and Almost the Best One)

Twins Update 7

There we go, much better progress. 6 pages of inks finished (outside of cleanup at the end and adding in NPC figures). This is much more the type of progress I like to see in an update.

I DO have a concern that the updates are spoiling the comic for people before it comes out, but its a good way of showing progress.

Last Minute Schedule Change

I'm making a change to when I post the comic pages: I'm sitting here again cramming because I want to get more done before I post and I have a better solution.

I understand if this is frustrating: this is mostly inspired by how upset I am with myself for my pretty terrible showing the last two months. I wanted to have the whole thing inked already and my poorly managed schedule sabotaged that. So I'm making some changes to try and fix my behavior.

There really isn't much to see here unless you are really peering into it. The break from the comic to recharge and get some work started on illustrations and other stuff (and refill my motivation points bar) helped a lot, however. I went back through what I had so far and fixed some of the errors and sloppy bits that were bothering me and moved some structure around to make things look a little cleaner. August is a Month and I had a Good Break

So taking a couple days off to recharge and de-stress was probably a really good idea. I still think the main issue why I wan't able to get more done on the comic last month was simply because I was focusing too much and not giving myself breaks or working on other things to cleanse the pallet. Inevitably leading to making it hard to focus and saping some enthusiasm. You can stare at a project for hours and not get anything done when you hyper focus after all.
