Many of you will probably find this to be a controversial choice, but i made Ichiban's extreme heat mode moveset to be Kiryu's Dragon Rage from Yakuza 5, i personally think the attacks fit Ichiban more than Kiryu who is usually way more technical on his blows plus i really didnt have much ideas on the ideal extreme heat moveset for Ichiban, atleast this one hits like a truck and is not plagued by enemies permaguarding and staggers them a lot

Almost done with chapter 3, everything is going great! I ended up discovering a nice juggle combo while playing through, i also made hero moveset slightly faster so it feels better to use

-He has an alternate combo string now
-He has a down attack now
-Can attack with nearby weapons
I also improved AI consistency, they no longer suddenly perform an attack when they are down in the ground

As you may have seen, i have been posting custom maps for Yakuza games in my youtube channel. I also have been playing through Infinite Wealth's chapter 2 but there isn't anything i added to the mod yet (feels complete-ish so far!) which is why i havent been posting anything. I was thinking of updating Yamai's combat AI though so we'll see when the time comes!

This is NOT the release of the mod. This is release of the code that makes Like A Brawler 8 work. If you are a software engineer/game dev and this interests you then enjoy! The full mod is still expected to release on March if all goes accordingly

One thing i added to (Agent) Rush to differentiate it from his othe styles is that he can steal weapons from enemies or low HP generic bosses. The guns he steals have infinite ammo. Do what you will with this information

The mod has officially entered the polishing stage. The amount of things get added will be limited (until the pirate game comes out) and i will be ensuring the mod is (relatively) polished for the current release goal of March. I will be replaying Infinite Wealth and finishing it with this mod again adding/fixing things as i go so i likely will be posting about how that goes. I'm also gonna take a quick 2-3 days break to recharge and go full force for the last stretch

Kiryu now has finishers for his attacks and unique throw attackwith bicycles etc on beast style (like how it did in Yakuza 0/Kaito Files Tank Style) also improved the generic gun moveset and gave it a heat action

The bat heat action has been changed to the Yakuza 3 version instead of Yakuza 5/0 one. Added a heat action for golf club/paddle, added a unique action for Kazuma Kiryu using traffic cones from Yakuza 0

I was wondering what your preference would be when it comes to heat actions for characters particularly with certain weapon types. Ichiban and Kiryu could be using different heat actions while holding knives, bicycles etc or it would be shared (same heat action for ichiban and kiryu when using weapons)

Sooner or later it was bound to happen. Ichiban now uses Slugger's rush combo, i removed grabbing from the style and added his powerful dondoko island charge attack as a replacement instead

I initially had a lot of trouble porting these two heat actions but i managed to pull it off at last. I even ported a particle from Kiwami 2 which i havent been able to do before so that's cool! I'll try to see if i can show some love to Ichiban's hero moveset, it can definitely benefit from a few new moves

8Ball allowed me to use his knife heat action he recently made for his own mod, so i took it, improved it slightly and of course added the easter egg that happens when you use it on ball enemies

Trying to make the AI closer to its realtime counterparts. Usually in Like A Brawler mods, only one enemy can attack at a given time, but in this video, you can see Roman shoot me while i'm being attacked by somebody else. Currently the only limitation is i cannot tell enemies to move to the player to perform the attack. Charging attacks are not ready yet, they need to be custom implemented since Yakuza 8 does not provide charge attack functionality by itself! Ichiban utilizes kicks more in this version, has entirely new double finishers and starts juggles easier (second finisher instead of fourth)

Hello guys! I'm slowly running out of new things to post and thus will be sending videos/images less frequently for a brief moment! Once the demo for the new pirate yakuza game comes out (which is rumored to be this month or the next...) expect things to return to normal and shift to overdrive! I ported one hact from Like A Brawler 7 and repurposed another for this job. I was gonna add the walljumping like in the original but i couldnt get it working :( so i was thinking of turning the job into thug style with a few flashy moves mixed in, which is why i should probably wait for the pirate yakuza game to come out because it has many of majima's thug style moves and heat actions

You may notice the video in question is not from Like A Brawler 8
However, its super relevant! I made a tool that can easily convert any moveset to any game, which should make updating Like A Brawler 7 far more easier and tedious, since i want to bring in improvements from the Infinite Wealth mod to the original one
Here's me giving Ichiban's Like a Brawler 8 moveset in Yakuza Gaiden, ignore the funny flying effects i will be fixing them later

I will likely be continuing to work on heat actions for the rest of this month, i am particularly waiting for the pirate game demo to come out so i can yoink assets from it. I'm specifically very interested on the health gauge so if the pirate game and infinite wealth UI files are compatible Like a Brawler 8 may get a combat UI just like realtime combat games! So stay tuned for that

With the release of the "My Own Party" mod, i decided to revise the player code of Like A Brawler 8, i added the foundation to possibly make proper movesets and heat actions for all player characters (the one i had for Adachi was hardcoded but no longer is) while i dont intend to make realtime combat movesets for anyone other than kiryu or ichiban, this will give other modders the opportunity to do so
