In the 8th chapter, we start to move away from the Fun & Games to the Midpoint of the Academy Arc. Rest assured, there's still plenty of fun to be had, but in this chapter at least, things are going to get a lot more serious!

The Fun & Games continue, this time with a poetry battle! Get ready to read some very...interesting haikus! I really like how MC is able to use their maturity/older age to their advantage in this one. The difference in perspective (be it in love or anything else, really) at adulthood vs adolescence is huge and something that doesn't really get explored in choicegames.

While chapter 5 was dark, grim, and serious, this one is anything but! We've entered the Fun & Games portion of the Academy Arc, which serves as a lighthearted rest for the reader and a chance for some side content and characters to get explored.

"Bad endings" are a classic staple of interactive fiction. There are many pros and cons to having them, but more of the latter in regards to choicegames due to their lack of checkpoints and saving. It was something I learned very quickly after Book 1: nobody wants to redo dozens and dozens of choices.
And while it was hard to get a bad ending back then, I don't believe I've had a "true" one since. (The bad ending in Book 3 during the trial scene is a fakeout!) This changes with Chapter ...

A "highschool anime" brings to mind about a hundred different tropes: everything from foreign exchange students, to culture festivals, to getting bento boxes from your childhood friend. In Chapter 4, our MC will come face-to-face with one such trope themself!
