Wyvern's Perch: Art (PNGs)

Greetings All!

This was something new to me, a weapon that can unleash a massive attack or gain an ally at the cost of its magical damage. I’m always a big fan of weighing the odds in D&D so I went all in for it.

Wyvern’s are notorious for being surprisingly strong with a few lucky rolls they can be devastating, so take that as you will! I hope this gets a lot of versatility in play for the Polearm players out there.  As for the Wyvern stats, they are...

Greenwood Warder: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Happily back with the start of the week, this time with a little ode to the wilds. While originally it was designed as a simple metal leaf, I dove back in to try and instill the vine effect inspired by its features. Hopefully that came across well.

Evolved from the spell Entangle, it shares many of the same features but some unique twist. Most notably that it is activated on a hit due to its arrow form. I would also limit the ability to reclaim the ...

Greetings All!

Here is the one stop shop for all of the items last month.

This is a .zip file that contains the one-sided art condensed for easy access. These one-sided cards come in various sizes and are recommended for digital use due to their infinite scroll nature.

If you are still interested in use, here are various sized backgrounds for rear side use: LINK.

Straight Razor: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

A little bit of a surprise today, the reaction was so strong to the Butchering Barber that I ended up making a common version with a bit of a rebalance.

To make up for the lack of the Thrown property, it has advantage on concealment/sleight of hand checks. Limited, but hopefully that helps make up for the lack of range with some trickier characters.

I hope you enjoy!

As always, input and feedback is forever welcomed!

Older Sibling's Boots: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Originally named “Boots to Fill” this name was suggested by @nips86 and I fell in with the idea and couldn’t shake it. I rarely fit into my older siblings clothing growing up due to size spurts, but feek never really leaves. The quote is added as a direct reference to a discussion we had about a favorite movie of ours a while back.

Definitely an oddity item, I felt there was a niche out there for this somewhere. Attempting to keep with my lowe...

Fowl Slayer: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

This axe was one of the first items ever designed for this run, originally by my son who was 7 at the time. The original origin was a sword, and that he then decided became an axe, hence the breakage. Stressing that it was an axe that you threw to hunt birds, and the beast were very scared of it. This was the result.

I dumped far too much time and detail, but I absolutely loved trying out quite a few new techniques and textures on this. Even when ke...

The Butchering Barber: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

I was really working on making an item that could fit into the Uncommon Tier, and still make it interesting for table play. There is a notable gap in this tier, even if it is one of the most frequently played! This is what came about, though still probably a Major Tier for Uncommon, I believe it firmly rest within the tier. The Sweeney Todd references just started to flow out for the concept.

Atlas Straps: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Back at it on a different day! The recolor went rather well, luckily I’ve been trying to learn flatting in the same program I do the timelapses. This meant the back-up was not too far off. I got a chuckle out of including a Socrates Quote, Greek Lore, and a Meme in the same card, I feel like this might perfectly describe my brain in action.

Based around lifter straps, my love of lifting, and balanced against the gloves of Thievery. Sometimes the p...

Witch's Hat: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Originally called the ‘Used’ Witch’s Hat, and for a brief moment the Praeacutus Hat. I eventually decided to go the simplest route, and the icon name. For the eagle eyes, yes! This is the item version of the arcane focus icon, it has been in my notes for quite a while!

Pulling in a few different inspirations for the abilities, but I just love the idea of the classic Magician’s Hat trick, reaching an entire arm into a small hat and pulling so...

The Forest Keeper: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

I had originally sketched this as a 3 Layer of wrapped bark, akin to a Samurai style pauldron but it didn’t quite read visually. So I took a more western armor swing at it with depth and layers and am pretty happy with the result.

With barkskin as an obvious inspiration, I balanced this against the new Barrier Tattoos, with a Rare being around the same ballpark in AC. Once that was worked out, I happily put in a small ability as an ode to all thos...

Elk's Bane: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

The Elk’s Bane variant was a lot of fun as well, constructed of bone, horn, and sinew it is a small shout out to primitive and fascinating technology. The die increase over a straight +2 is for more interest and variation in play, though it could be a very easy swap. Input welcome!

Fun Note: I think that you could adapt the Elk’s Bane to any Bow Type rather easily.

If you have any balance or wording notes, they are always welcomed! I love ...

Atlatl: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Continuing the trend of trying to bring a historical or interesting mundane to the tables, and presenting a magical variation at the same time. I mean, who really needs sleep?

I love historical weapons, and it doesn’t get much older than the Atlatl. A precursor to the bow and a key implementation of a lever, it is one of the reasons we thrived as a species in areas. So when looking for an enhancement for strength based ranged attackers in 5e, it w...

Bone Vulture: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

This is of course directly inspired by one of the the most interesting birds on the planet, the bone vulture. They eat mainly bone and have stomach acid to digest it! Google them, totally worth a deep dive.

This mace was inspired by that idea, as well it’s unique ability. The balancing might shift slightly, not for the ability itself but from the other damages. An ability to regain health at any level is always powerful, and having it be limited b...

The Hoarfrost: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Happy I got in all that ice practice with the re-draw, I’m back with another frost item!

It’s been almost exactly four months since my last shield, I was going through AC withdrawal. I will forever have a soft spot for shields, they are just such an iconic part of adventuring to me. This being based off a Norse Round Shield, which is iconic in its own right.

Once the look of an ice beard was stuck in my head, it was just a matter of time. ...

Shard of Permafrost: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

Back with another re-touch, this one being heavily slanted towards art and card not actual item function.

I love this one, and was very happy to revisit and examine it again. I thought of a rebalance and weighed the possibilities, in the end I left it untouched. While it is powerful and incredibly strong in the right hands, attaching the heftier die to spells means there is a limit opposed to say the flame tongue.

So I hope you enjoy, and stay...

Spectral Wraps: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

The Spectral Wraps! These have been sitting in the backlog for a while now and I couldn’t wait to try them out with the new layout. They fit perfectly and helped test the limit on what could fit on a printed card, so while I was at it. I tested just about everything new that I am trying to implement this week.

I was able to add the soft glows from the wraps that I always wanted with the new brushes and clean up the original art. It was really a re...
