The only thing better than commissions are the names of the people who get commissions
I'm always curious about the name origin story people have
"Roamingthrough" captured the kind of essence I think I have, and it had a nickname opportunity in there, Roam. Roaming-through comes from the way I use the internet, which is in a very passive way for the most part. I'm kind of stopping by and who knows where I'll be next and uh just make sure your doors are locked

So expressions are not my forte; there's a ton of stuff that I want to work on and trying to come up with a guide revealed that to me.
What I caaan say is that it's helpful to understand each component of the face to know how far you can push them individually. I add a lot of diagonals in expressions to add asymmetry, and small lines surrounding major features. You can see these in creases above and below the eye, surrounding the eyebrows to indicate thinning, smile lines, the low...

Sketchiest my sketches get
The wips I usually send out to people are almost finished pieces compared to these, though both can still be considered sketches
You can treat sketching as another tool, like a brush or lasso tool; a sketch does as much as you want it to do. The more lines you use, the more complex a piece will generally be (though the placement of lines can have the opposite effect), and the less lines, the simpler. The number of lines you use, and the degree to which y...

Trying a new thing where the character is placed on a block of color rather than a whole background, really liking it and definitely didn't mooch the idea off a friend

In various states of teeth
When I think about drawing the mouth, I think about the teeth. They're the foundation for everything else, which is why people w/o teeth have that sunken collapsed look. Lips wrap around teeth, and teeth are a round form like your skull, which means lips follow that curve (run your finger over your mouth and notice the path it follows).
When the mouth opens, it doesn't move directly down; it's in an arc created by the anchoring of the ja...
