No idea if some of these have been posted before or not. They were unplanned just mucking around one afternoon but I like one or two of them.
From last August in Madrid.
Tech details are in the caption of each pic. Camera was the Z6.
Which one's your fave? Mine might be this one...

Of course, all the time I shoot digital I'm trying to make an image that...

A very important and moving set for me. A step forward. The whole set of 18 images is on my website - I didn't upload it here cause presentation is better on my own platform where I have some control over my own work.
Password for the set is: altsocial-2020

So the tech shit is really just extraneous information that isn't much connected with the final result at all. The final image can only be a result of the interaction and understanding between model and photographer.
If I'm working with someone new I always find it tricky to explain to them what I'm looking for in the shoot. This is important. I choose carefully and do as much research as I can about the person - looking at their work of course, and reading anything I can about them as ...

Another one for Portraits from the Edge.
Tech: Z6, 50mm lens @ f2.0.
Workflow: She was moving, walking toward me, I was walking backward - looking for moments.

From Dzownówek.
For my Portraits from the Edge series. Shot on TMAX with the Pentax 67. That thing is hard to manual focus when the subject is moving :)

These are the digitals from this shoot the other day, to be used by Entice Lingerie.
Tech: Z6, 50mm f1.8 and 16-35mm f4. Shot in bright afternoon sun without much consideration of what I would usually think was problematic shadow.
I deliberately added my own edge to these 'commercial' shots, not wanting to make images which fit the usual style that lingerie stores want. Let's see if they use them :)
I also shot a roll of 35mm for myself, some of those ...

I realise images like these aren't popular here on Patreon - as judged by the responses to the last post of random travel shots but...this project which I started years ago is still ongoing. Soon I'll be collating images and text into some kind of presentable artefact - whether that's an exhibition, magazine, book, series of small mags or whatever.
One of the motivators behind starting this Patreon account was to be able to share my project work, the 'serious' stuff, as opposed to gener...

This shoot was many years ago now with one of the best models I've worked with: Elena Filipi. She had been modelling for two months when I took these. She became a good friend and we're still in touch to this day.
Actually you know, three of the best models I've ever worked with have been Italian and all three have become good friends. I think that says something and it's kind of obvious what that is.
All shot on film and processed/scanned at home using the Mamiya 7, the Pentax 67...

Another early edit from Dziwnówek. Shot yesterday in late light streaming in underneath some could, and intensified by that. This one is good enough (IMO) for my Portraits from the Edge series of work.
Tech: Z6, 50mm f1.8 @f2.0. 1/8000 sec, ISO 100. It's been SO long since I've been able to shoot at ISO 100, which means I've been shooting indoors, or occasionally outdoors in dull conditions. I know Aurora's angles, and this is one that always works with her facial stru...

Finally, a short break with my love. A few days at Dziwnóvek staying in a small modern hotel on the edge of the lake Zalew Kamieński. This is a nice place, very long fine grain sand beach and national park forest behind the beach for many kilometres. Weather was warm, we even got sunburnt.
We shot a few times, mainly on the beach and near one of the long piers which extend out from the beach. Art nude (with my edgy edge), fashion nude, lingerie on the beach (haha) and other stuff. All...

I wrote this article for my blog:
Since arriving in Poland a year ago, I’ve thought about how to express the many aspects of this huge move. I ditched my entire life in Australia to come to Europe. Coming to Poland wasn’t part of that plan but it ended up being the only practical place to be for a while.
I am still waiting for my temporary residency Visa to come though so I cannot travel o...

Any hack with a new camera can take a 'beautiful' picture as long as there's someone who looks like Helvethet in front of their camera, and this includes me. Photographing models is no test of your mettle as an artist. And it's also no test for a model involved in this shallow dynamic. The whole model photography 'thing' is driven by male sexual desire and fantasy.
1. MOST model photographers are male. Like probably over 95%.
2. MOST of those male ph...

Shot a few years ago in Sydney with wonderful nude model Mea Culpa, who now only does Life Modelling - and I don't blame her for not wanting to photo model anymore.
Some shot on film with the Pentax 67 and Portra and the rest on a D800.

Haven't posted much of Zoi but she was awesome to work with. She's a 5 times playmate of the year in PlayBoy and is an amazing looking model with the sweetest personality you can imagine. She does tell it like it is though too, which is great. Both Aurora and I shot her down at Scheveningen in the Netherlands.
Love the shot with Aurora in the background pulling her pants down :) :)
Gonna post more...

It was so great to be able to photograph my old friend Romi last August in Barcelona.
Aurora and I were staying in Barcelona and we shot togther with Eva Lunia and Romi in one session, you can find all those shots here on Patreon where I photographed them in our tiny hotel room as a trio. After that I had the chance to shoot Romi solo.
Just do a tag search for Romi, or Eva Lumia and you’ll find the others
