Pherl's new eating animation

Remember how I said "unless something unexpected happens"? Well it did happened!
The animation is so big and haves so many frames my animation software did not allowed me to convert it in a GIF cause my computer just didn't had enough power to do it, unless I first manually merged the layers in every single frame

New animation in the next 24 hours

if nothing unexpected happens, obviously!
But pretty much everything important is done
This animation will feature many new sprites, and some that will be able to be implemented in the game immediately
Here a list of the new things that will be included and are already completed:

Downwards butt tackle with impact animation
Ground impact and landing especial effects
One enemy trying to pull another one out of Pherl's mouth

Jeeat to Chlodie transformation sequence, concept, exclusive

Since "Jeaat" the phoenix is immortal I came up with this concept

She can reborn endlessly no problem, but she can't change the place where she died, so if she gets eaten by Pherl she would just die during digestion, and later reform still inside Pherl, and die again.
During the game after beating her in a boss fight she would eventually escape from the player character insides and trigger a second boss fight, it would be like a random occurrence, the only way of making her stop com...

New backgroun assets, teaser for new animation

Hey there
I have many ideas for this section of the stage, like adding echo to the game sounds, waterfalls, dripstones
I also plan adding more variation to the tileset for it to not look so much like a corridor

Aside from that I already made one of the necessary sprites for Pherl's new animation, it is the downwards butt-tackle, she still needs a new eating sprite, and some misc "after eating" sprites to have everything needed for this new animation

We are planning the adaptative soundtrack with our musician, the song for Pherl's exclusive stage with asian themes has been completed, when I have some assets done for that stage I will show that here as an exclussive video
But that song will be replaced later with a better Adaptative version

This animation was already been seen with the other soldier, called "Soli" but not with this one
I think so far the two soldiers share 4 animations of being eaten, that will prevent the game from looking too repetitive, but I have other ideas to help with that too

Little update, thanks a lot for your patience

That will take a while, but the hardest part has already been done

Fake Pherl and the third gang member, animation update

Mocking Pherl exclusive illust

I might need a new artists, current one is good with designs, but not so good with detailed drawings, so I end up having to edit them myself, taking time away from the pixel art

I know some people I can hire, or I could just make all the drawing myself, but that would take so much time

Unlike the rest of small enemies, she can't be juggled around being kicked in the air, she just lays down for a bit, and eventually gets back up if left unbothered

Perfect height, exclusive teaser

For when she gets knocked out, but actually it will be Lilac the one that will eat her in the next animation

This will be good for variety cause it will be a mashing section
You would have to press buttons repeatedly or she would break free
But she being a Spawner enemy there might be other soldiers around when you are trying to eat her
So the player could decide to beat every enemy and then eat her, or try to eat her very quickly when there are still some enemies around

I still think the animation could be made better, but it is ok for now
This one will actually be easy and fast to implement
Since unlike Soli she doesn't need 10 eating animations, movements and attacks
She will only have one animation of being eaten that will be a mashing section, and she will not need much animations since all she needs to do is sitting somewhere and spawning enemies with her big backpack

Pherl's arms back then were not so strong
Today they are still kinda weak, but her sumo training gave her a better grip

Exclussive small eating animation 5

This one has already been seen in the Winsol animation, but im tweaking it further since it has been rushed the first time I used it
The good news are that Pherl already haves every necessary belly size to use this animation in the game

New enemy designs, concepts ideas


They are meant to be the hazards one can find in the city Pherl and the rest lives in
One of them is pretty easy to figure out, she is a gang member that will randomly ambush you if you are in her territory and will also attack you if you find her

The other is an escaped convict, could also attack and ambush you, but I was thinking in other gimmicks that could be more fitting for her
Like every time you enter a store there could be a random chance of she robbing it

Nice way to start this month

She is Laclee the dragon, from Lilac's species
Like Lilac, she was awakened by the soldiers to be used against Pherl, but they were unable to control her

She will be Lilac's exclusive boss, and like every other exclusive boss she will be able to eat the player
But I feel worse for Lilac winning actually since that will take a lot of effort to fully fit inside

Small animation, little update, request for suggestions

Old discarded idea

Hi, I plan on having one last animation done for this month, there I showcase the breakable walls gimmick, and the looking up to catch falling prey gimmick

This are the sprites from an old idea I planned years ago
originally Pherl had the hability to steal the looks of the bosses she defeated, the pieces could be mixed and matched to grant different habilities
