2021-03-18 21:46:21 +0000 UTC View PostMorning! I wanted to do a poll on this idea. I'm pretty sure the more unifed monthly themes are appreciated for the sake of utility, but after doing it for a few months I feel like it might be good to reduce the themed maps to three per month and have one be a wildcard. This would give me some space to fit in the stranger ideas I come up with that don't mesh well into themes, or to work in requests from you guys.
I'd also like to hear any suggestions - if anyone has any - for h...

Good ... afternoon! Continuing with the greeco-roman canal-sorta city theme thing, this week's map is a city bridge over a gorgeous river with gatehouses on either side. Balconies attached to the guardhouses give a potential point from which to leap over onto the bridge, and a lowered dock on the left side grants easy access to the river.
New map's here! Main post with details will be up as soon as I'm done uploading the files.

I'm allowed to have fun too, right? I made this about a week ago while pondering running a modified Fallout 4 campaign. Unfortunately, my friends either don't like Fallout or don't like it in the context of a role-playing game (because things like Bloatfly's biology or radiation burns are a lot worse when you have to deal with the direct consequences of it). Alas. I still made the map, though, and I'm still thinking over how many changes you'd have to make to Fallout 4's story for it to be 1)...

Aha. Last week's poll turned up "Marble cityscape", and it wasn't until after it won that I realized I didn't really know what I had meant when I wrote it down. I ended up settling on a greeco-roman sort of aesthetic. (I almost did an aqueduct in a more rural setting, but depending on how closely you want to stick to 'city'...)
In any case, this is Six-Pillar Street. Though distinctly devoid of pillars, it is said that at one point, there were in fact six pillars standing in the square ...

2021-02-26 20:02:00 +0000 UTC View PostI'm sorry I'm late on this. It was meant to launch last Sunday, but I slipped up and forgot about the submission box. Still time before next Sunday, anyways.
This week's map has the most straightforward title I've ever given a map - it's a glacier. What more could you want? How about a glacier with caves carved into it, with winding icy pathways, with a big watery glacial lake of questionably-tolerable temperature? How about the most gorgeous mountains I've ever drawn?
Delicious ice. Download below, main post soon!

A majestic structure, built on an artificial plateau high in the mountains. Light streams through glass windows, filling red halls with brilliant light. Are the inhabitants hospitable? Or do their cellars contain secrets indescribable?
I think this map probably took the longest to draw of all the maps I've ever done, but boy did it turn out nice. You get more than half a dozen points of entry - the cavern in the basement, through the front door, climbing or descending the cliffs, the pa...

This is just a preview of what I'm planning this week. This is based pretty heavily off of Paro Taktsang, or the Tiger's Nest monastery in Bhutan - and more generally, on Tibetan architecture.

It's such a gorgeous and unique sort of style. My only regret is that with the orthogonal perspective I...

Augh, my back. I mean, good morning! Febuary's Patron map theme poll turned out as 'cold mountains', so that's what we're doing this month. This week's map is a cold stream running down a rocky mountain. It actually isn't much of a steppe at all, but I only just realized that as I was typing this. Oh well.
Out here in the wilderness, you never know what you're going to find. This spot could be ripe for an ambush, or simply as the place to spot the beast you've been tracking down. The ol...

Just a bit of fun. I'm playing with coloring and shading my sketches, to give myself a better feel for composition. These are a couple of the drafts I've done for the next map. What would you guys like to see in a rocky mountain steppe like this?
Also, I was challenged to draw a frog without using a reference. I've never drawn a frog before, but I think it turned out cute.

Hey, January is almost over. How'd that happen? Here's a 100% free map.
This one's a bit of a followup to last week's Pyramid's Gates v2, now featuring the interior of the pyramid! And what's more, I made a fairly extensive pack of assets to go along with this - Enthusiasts will be able to construct their own tombs exactly like the ones included in this pack (or in any other sh...

2021-01-28 04:44:36 +0000 UTC View PostGood morning! This is the first monthly map theme poll, going for Febuary. Rules are simple.
Far across the lone and level sands lies great temples built from limestone and sandstone - and though they lie in ruins today, they once rose far out of the desert with heights unmatched by any modern civilization.
This is a free map that I started work on with the intentions of re-drawing one of my earliest maps - the Pyramid's Gates. This was the very first map I ever published, about a year and ten days ago, and I wanted to do a direct comparison between what I'm doing these days an...

Two weeks later, and it's finally finished! This is a free pack containing almost every asset I've drawn over the last year, redrawn and touched up to match my current ability - a grand total of just over 500 assets. I decided to merge the modern and futuristic assets in with this pack, since a lot of them have overlap, so the zip file has everything combined, sorted into folders by item type. There's also a decent number of new assets that I drew for the sak...
2021-01-16 18:01:03 +0000 UTC View PostContained in this 7z archive linked here is the entirety of the modern and sci-fi maps I've drawn over the last year in one place. It's a total of 22 maps - around half of the total I've drawn overall, I think. Some of these are super ancient and not nearly as nice as the more recent ones, but they're all there for completion's sake. Hope you enjoy it!
The total list...

Morning! It turns out that this is way too big a project to have finished in one week. But hey, despite a busy schedule, I've made a good bit of progress. Here's a before-and-after image of a fraction of the stuff drawn so far, and some other miscellaneous stuff. Some of these assets are super old - that fallen tree is something I drew a whole year ago. I've also been making some extra assets to fill in some gaps.
ETA for the pack isn't clear right now. If I'm lucky, it could be next we...
2021-01-09 15:57:51 +0000 UTC View PostDecember is over, so it's a new year. I've put together something of a plan for reworking my setup here, based on what I've learned over the last year. Some of these are big changes, so they demand some detail.
Narrower Focus
I'm not going to be making sci-fi or modern content anymore. Apologies to everyone who had subscribed just for these, but this split in focus has been causing me so many issues and frustrating my efforts to improve my se...

I know I'm On Break⢠for the month, but I received a neat commission request from someone who wanted to see a followup to the Sinnoh map I drew a couple of months ago - and I had been wanting to do another region for some time, it's just that my list of priorities is so long that it would've taken forever for it to come to the top. So, that's what I ended up doing this weekend.
I'm sure the...

Someone requested a cropped version of an older map, the Skyqueen, that could be overlaid atop other maps. That's what this is! I feel kinda dumb for not including this in the initial release, actually. Anyways, all three decks are included. Go nuts.
