This is exactly right. Things ‘felt’ like they were better back in the day but it really is just rose colored glasses because every year seems to get worse and we just want to get back to “the good ol days” when in reality they were never as good as we think they were

Even looking back at the Obama era the amount of racism he face for years from republicans was crazy, it’s just back then people weren’t as shameless as they are now and there was social consequence to your actions. I think nostalgia and not really paying attention to went was going on at the time can change how we look back on things in a more favorable light.
