March's sticker set theme is.... INTERPLANETARY POST!
This theme was submitted by Anna, a current Sticker King and dear friend of mine! If you don't know, Sticker King tier members can submit theme suggestions, and usually I'd add these to theme polls but this one was so good I just had to do it 🤪
I've wanted to do a postage stamp sticker set for a long time but have never been able to come up with a theme to tie it together, so when I saw this suggestion I jumped on it. The other major problem with designing a postage stamp set is the iconic ridged border around each stamp, which could cause problems in manufacturing due to all the tiny sharp corners in the cut lines. I toyed with the idea of simply using straight rectangular cutlines around each sticker, but in the end I went with this smooth wavy border that should hopefully convey postage stamp while also being manageable for cutting.
The image you see in the preview is a bit misleading, because the outer edges of the white borders will be where the cut lines are. The actual printed set will have chunkier white borders in order to provide a bleed for the cut lines. This makes the overall sheet design a bit uglier but the stickers themselves (once in use) cuter. This is kind of confusing to explain so hopefully that makes some sense!
OKAY that was an unusually long explanation for a set reveal! Thanks for reading!! See you next month!
P.S: Long-time members may remember my old Interdimensional Delivery set, which is similar in name and color palette but different in concept. I only have a few sheets left of this one and won't be reprinting it, so grab it if you want it!
