Dev Build - Climbing the Corporate Larder

Hello everyone! As decided in the last poll, I added a new office environment. It includes multiple places to feed and plenty of props to knock around with your fat ass. I also added a few new clothing options so you can adhere to the corporate dress code.

In addition, there's a bunch of resolution options in the settings menu plus a toggle to switch between full screen and windowed mode. Hopefully this addresses any issues with varying monitor sizes, but feel free to let me know if there are still issues with your setup.


I also made a few minor tweaks including a notification that will let you know when a new weight class is available. I also changed how object rattling works at large sizes. Instead of applying to every object in the scene, only nearby objects will rattle, which obviously makes more sense and helps a bit with performance in prop-heavy scenes.

I think that's all for this build. I wanted to finally add some shoe options in this update, but I haven't quite got the method figured out yet. In fact there's a few new accessories I plan on adding to character customization soon, so you can probably expect that in the next update. Feel free to comment with any requests. I'll also be starting to develop some of the other skinny to blob sequences, but those are pretty tricky so it might be a little while. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy!

I won't be adding anything else to the next update since I hope to release it later today or tomorrow. Could you elaborate a bit more, like how would this be different than the tube or hand feeding?

You need to download the .zip file and extract the contents to your harddrive. It will create a folder with the title of the build. Inside the folder there's a .exe file that also has the title of the build. Open the .exe and the game should run. If that doesn't work try using a program called 7zip to extract the .zip file. I've heard some people have had problems using the built in extractor that comes with Windows.

May I make a suggestion? I think there should be some type of puzzle, and some type of tangable adversary. I’d make suggestions for these, but I don’t really wanna overstep.

Quick question, will you ever update the Snackrooms to accommodate the new weight level updates? Waddling around in the Snackrooms after one too many burgers sounds great to me, at least lmao

Glad you like it! I've seen the belly clip happen a few times but I haven't figured out a way to fully prevent it yet. I probably won't be adding anymore levels in between what's already there, but I do plan to add more options for each level so weight can be distributed somewhat differently. Long hair would be great, but adding physics to the hair that interacts with the various body shapes as they jiggle and grow would be super difficult. I'm not sure how well it would work in the long run anyway. I may take a stab at it eventually, but it's pretty low priority. And yeah, shoes are on the way. I've pretty much worked out all the issues with them and they will be in the next update along with some other new cosmetic options.

That's strange. Are you able to download other builds from previous posts? Also if you have an antivirus, be sure to disable it or give it permission to download the file. I do plan to add male customization options in the future, but changing proportions of specific body parts in real-time is not possible due to limitations with the softbody physics system. I plan to add more general body type options in the future to make up for that though.

The download isn't working for some odd reason, also another question, will you add sliders for each body proportion in the future? and will there be potential for males?

Mean to follow up my comment. I think this update is a lot of fun. The office map is a ton of fun when you start to get huge and able to push around cubicle walls. At the largest size prior to blob (I forgot what it's called lol) it seems there's sometimes an issue where the belly clips into the body. It resolves itself with movement, but a little awkward at times. Although unrealistic, part of me wants 1 more level of obesity before total immobility, with more weight focused on her abdomen or chest. Longer hair options would also be nice, but without physics on the hair, I understand this may be awkward. It's already been said... but shoes would be nice as well, lol. A little weird running around barefoot. Great stuff, a lot of fun.

Only the wide blob shape is hooked up to the weight class system for now, but I plan on making weight gain sequences for the other blob shapes as well. For now you have to use the skip to blob shape buttons to access the other blob shapes.

I haven't figured out a way to make bigger blobs without causing serious problems with the physics engine. I'm looking into ways around it, but haven't found a solution yet. Hopefully I will some day

Absolutely incredible work. The animation and sound design is honestly amazing, and the amount of customization available is quite impressive. Tell me, do you have any ideas on implementing sizes beyond blob? Such as a hyper blob size? I love the environments, I just wish the blob filled some of them even more so.

That was a test animation and it is not currently in the game. It doesn't work well past a certain size so I didn't include it. I'd like to add emote animations at some point and maybe I'll add a new dance animation if I can get it to work.

Loving the work on this new build. From some of the maps you’ve made I see allot of chairs and it made me think. Will there be an option to be able to sit on chairs, couches, and sofas? Once we reach a certain weight we crush them. Or idk if this’ll be a simpler option, magically put her in a chair if we select the feeding tube

Yeah, some big issues crop up if I make the blob sizes any bigger than their current maximum. I have some vague ideas of how to work around it, especially after building the new weight class system. I can't guarantee I can make it work, but I plan to keep on trying.

This is the plan in the long run. Not sure when I'll get to it, but I definitely want an option for this.

I can add a voice pitch option for sure and maybe some alternate voice types later down the road. The sweat stains on clothes are gonna be a little trickier. The shader that draws the character is super complicated and is currently using the maximum number of texture look ups. I would need to add another texture lookup to make the sweat stains work so you can see the dilemma. I still want to add it somehow so hopefully I can come up with a hack or workaround to make it happen.

Is there any plans to go even farther with the weights? or is the current max weight the most you can do without causing major problems

Excellent work as always. If there's one thing I might suggest as a possibility it would be that, since you've implemented a weight stages system, it might be nice if there were an option to have the bodily function status effects scale with the character's weight; the idea that burps/hiccups/farts/stomach growls could become more frequent the heavier the character gets (Still with the ability for us to adjust to our preference) rather than being at a static frequency that we have to adjust.

That's a pretty good idea. It might get tricky to implement, but I'll see what I can do.

Love what you've done so far, always look forward to seeing a new update! As a suggestion, one thing I'd like to see if it's achievable is some way to click and drag the movable non-food items around the level. I love the new map but it would be good to position the character behind a desk or table without having to slowly bump a chair out of the way first. Plus, knocking stuff over is fun but it'd also be useful to be able to pick it up again, even if it's not possible to precisely place it.

Unfortunately I can't do much else for optimization. The physics engine for the softbody simulation is pretty demanding and causes nearly all of the bottle necking. Since I didn't program it and I have no idea how it works under the hood, I can't do much about it. However, customization will definitely improve over time. I usually add more options every other update or so.

I love your work blobygon, but I wish there was better optimization despite being a Unity game, and a more diverse and comfortable catalog of customization, if you achieve that in the future it would be great! 🙏

Love what you have been doing so much! If I had a suggestion it would be the ability to turn off character movement at the immobile sizes and instead just have the character struggle and thrash a bit but not bounce up and move around. if that makes sense.
