He can, but... There are enough unique monsters out there that he might be able to steal enough stats to get them to 100,000 so that he can save those points. Secondly, he has light magic and blue magic forms, so he can buff them to a level that makes the benefit of the bonus from getting them to 100,000 much less attractive than they might be to others. And lastly, its a long shot, but he has the potential of getting his Wisdom to the legendary 1,000,000 stat level. If he can manage it, it will greatly outdo any other way he could spend his points.
