We definitely don’t *need* an el Neny in the squad, people would’ve said sell him in 2018, yet here we are claiming a process

Xhaka played well, i will give that to him. but he is always at risk to give a xhaka moment. just like Mustafi is at risk for a Mustafi moment. these moments can kill games for us, and even in fact seasons. we should sell Xhaka back to a bundesliga team- he will do well there, and maybe we can recoup some money to get a better central midfielder who can help us reach the goals we need to as a club (and by that I am not talking about top 4- i am talking about titles).. as has been said, we have never gotten top 4 with Xhaka.

The fact that people are genuinely even debating whether there’s a clause in Willians contract meaning he has to play is literally the reason Arteta and Edu need to go ASAP 😭 it’s like they don’t even need to try and make good decisions they keep getting the benefit of the doubt for some reason

Elliot you have officially passed the agenda level now on Elneny lol. I know he didn't have the greatest game, but he's there as a squad player who is on low wages to fill gaps. We are always going to need cheap half-descent players like Elneny and Holding to fill the squad. They do their jobs. It makes more sense to be critical about the players who literally cost 20 times more and on 5 times the wages. It seems more than cruel to kill a squad player when they are doing exactly want we paid for.

Great pod! A couple items I was thinking about: 1. I actually really liked how the attack was moving in the first half, there was a lot of interplay between the forwards. That, for me, was down to Nelson’s movement. He was acting as more of a connector/forward than a true winger. I think his issues were more from rust and trying to re-integrate himself in the team than a lack of confidence. I wonder if his performance would have changed had ESR had come on for Willian instead. 2. Saka on the right > Saka on the left. When he plays on the left, the team becomes very focused on the left, which is also where a lot of our attacks end. Down the left, he needs momentum to whip in crosses or burst into the box. On the right, he has a lot more angles to combine. 3. Cedric, as a full-basic option, is really interesting. Not sure if he gets ahead of Bellerin, but his combos with Pepe are better than what I’ve seen with Bellerin and even AMN to a certain extent. 4. Pablo Mari has been a real pleasant surprise. Given his deal has been controversial in some quarters, including with me, I have to say that I’m impressed with how he’s fared in the past few games. For the balance of our back 4, I’m not against keeping him over Gabriel at this point, given how well he handled Andy Carroll today. Hope all is well with Gabi, I hope he’s not out for long.
