First experience.

These images are from my very first time using a self timer for self portraits. I debated on whether to post them or not, mostly because I don't feel that there's anything particularly special about them. But, I'm still proud of them. I still created something out of experimentation and emotional expression, and I feel like that is worth sharing.

I'm used to shooting self ports with my Pentax K1000 which doesn't have a self timer option. Shooting with the LX has really allowed me to experiment a lot more. I'm not used to having both of my hands free, so I almost felt awkward in a way. It was also my first time trying to focus and frame my shots correctly without having myself in front of a mirror which has always been the case. I think I just put a book on my bed to focus on and hoped for the best. Overall, I was really happy with how the images turned out. My favorite image in the second one, which is a double exposure with clouds. I  wish the clouds had more definition, but I like how they almost look like waves washing me away. I'd love to know how these images makes you feel and which one is your favorite. <3 j

I love your perspective. I was definitely going for that somber mood. I was actually disappointed that it was out of focus at first but grew to like it for the same reasons. That dreamy foggy mood. Thank you so much for your feedback. Love having you in my little community :)

Definitely number four is my fav! The out of focus touch makes me feel somber and foggy, kinda like your wisping away. Really cool experimentations with the self timer

One of the funnest things I did with that was shutter dragging lights at night and sort of using them to draw on a roll of film. No idea why I only did it once

I think these are fantastic and you should be proud of them. Experimenting with new ways of shooting expands your limits and only makes you a better photographer. Thank you for sharing them with us

That double exposure is so good. Love a good abstract thing on the film.
