Watching Kousei in this episode is always so depressing. Because the layers of emotions he would be feeling is something I can only imagine. Noticing the similarities between Kaori and his mom. Then being in denial about it. Then there is the uneasiness of wondering if Kaori is gonna end up like his mom was like at the end of her life. But then there is also that reflection aspect. Where he can actually understand how and why his mom changed so much at the end of her life.

It was a flashback to the specific incident that made Kaori miss the concert, and it was probably the first time that her legs fully gave out on her. But she's been struggling to walk for a while. You can see that there are railings all along the hallway in her home.
