Like Rex with the Lizard League, no one has a moral debate on whether those guys needed to go. If Mark could've killed his father in S1, then, at the time, everyone would have understood and appreciated that decision. The real issue with Oliver, and I think the actual interesting part of this story beat, is that the second Mauler was surrendering. If you think he still needs to die then, then you can be led down a dangerous path of preventative killing that has scary, Ultron-like implications at its conclusion. That's why it's so interesting and not so black and white.

Idk if he was holding back against a dragon but they also pace the fights with Mark taking a lot of hits that other Vlitrumites would never take. Even if the dragon keeps coming back, I don't think it can kill a Viltrumite with nothing to lose before they level an entire city to destroy his body. Nolan's fought it before and presumably won so it looks like he doesn't always win and gives up sometimes, even though he doesn't die. Viltrumites can also take a hilarious amount of damage before being killed, like Battle Beast breaking open Mark's chest in S1.

Marvel and DC have to constantly figure out how to nerf or negate these heroes too. I first assumed that she has some hard limits in S1 but after seeing what she can do with constructing and manipulating things, she really should be able to fundamentally change the world if she wants to. She should honestly have an entire committee of the best minds figuring out how to use her powers to change the planet for the better. But obv they want to keep it to the hero stuff and fights mostly lol

Her powers could make her millions a day and she could help so many industries produce things faster and cheaper. She could clear a construction site in seconds, make components for huge structures and heavy parts, turn cheap things like dirt into high quality steel, titanium, cobalt, etc. She could make constructing really difficult things like underwater tunnels 1000x easier by temporarily making a dam or lowering the water level by converting it to air. Any company in the world could use her powers to supercharge whatever they are doing and would pay her whatever she asks. It doesn't even matter that she would potentially put people out of jobs because she can also just make houses for people with her new architectural knowledge, make super nutrient rich soil, and purify water. Also get that electricity villain a job generating power so he doesn't need to commit crimes for money. Realistically, she should be the ruler of Earth if she used her powers to their fullest extent.

Its annoying how people think everything on Earth is just fodder that Mark can simply just one tap which isnt the case. Yes Mark got substantially stronger from last season but that still wont cut it for people like Liu or even future villians/heroes that are from earth that can go toe-to-toe with Mark. Thats what seperates this universe from DC and Marvel, the stakes are always high, every somewhat relevant villian is a threat that can actually give the heroes a run for their money and sometimes even win.

And the twins probably couldn't absorb their copies back then. He wasn't dealing with two kids and a bunch of their copies running around, that would fade in a few hours time. He was dealing with true, existing versions of his children, who could all die and be taken or hurt and abused. There's no WAY he ever would have been able to control twenty kids. Trying to imagine that situation as a parent is damn scary imo. No wonder dude stressed the fuck out. He obliviously tried too, but it was way too much.
