One of the best parts about having this arc right after the Jiraiya/Pain arc (besides just having back to back unbelievably incredible moments) is that the Itachi/Sasuske arc distracts you from grieving for Jiraiya. These episodes were coming out during my freshman year of college and the hype levels were through the roof...incredible world building by the writer.

Amaterasu, Goddess of the Sun Tsukuyomi, Deity* of the Moon (gender ambiguous) Susano'o, God of Storms These three deities are siblings, children to the creators of the Japanese archipelago themselves. Consider them a holy trinity below the original couple who created Japan, if you will. This is a huge recommendation, please don't just watch episode 139 and 140, you will hate yourselves if you do, trust me! But you won't have any more triple drops for a long time after this. There's the filler arc next and then the story starts again at episode 152, and I think triple drops would only be around 10 - 15 episodes later (i.e. after episode 152).

Nah.. eventhough the Dub is great in it's own way i feel like it doesn't really suite the world NARUTO is truly about, it takes away.. especially Shippuden. Also, with the Sub people tend to pay more attention to what's happening on the screen due to constantly having to pay attention to the subtitles. I've watched NARUTO in both SUB and DUB and have to admit SUB is simply more superior, everything feels more authentic and seem to runs together more smoothly(the OST, the themes, the meaning) in DUB the voice acting can kinda get cringy sometimes, but sometimes it's also can be really good(Tobis voice is GOATED in DUB).

I’m saying this so that they know that anime doesn’t “need” to be watched in sub as I’ve heard them mention it before. This idea that anime “needs” to be watched in sub for authenticity is an idiotic ideal made by newer anime fans that got into anime during covid. They are still kind of new to anime and have, I’m assuming, have never experienced an anime in dub before. First of all just want to say thank you for the reactions, amazing as always, now time for a tiny rant. Personally I think you guys would love this show in dub, I also personally believe it’s better in dub which I can only say about a few anime. Naruto and FMA are two anime that will always be superior in dub, in my opinion. There are others that are equally good in sub and dub like Bleach, One Piece and Inuyasha, but I would still prefer the dub for nostalgia reasons because I grew up watching everything in dub. Back in the day before all these bootleg sites or streaming services you either stayed awake on a specific day/night to watch all the anime that was playing that night or you woke up early as hell to watch a few of them like Inuyasha, for instance, was the last anime to play before it switched back to western cartoons back in 2001-2005 years. To make my point all these anime that played were always in dub and never in sub but I still prefer sub most of the time because it sounds better, except for Naruto, FMA, Inuyasha and bleach, those four anime I believe should be watched in dubbed before or after you watch the subbed version. Every anime that I’ve mentioned I’ve watched in both subbed and dubbed but I’ve watched them in dub probably like 2-3times each, except Naruto, watching this with you guys will be my 7th time watching it lol. I have been watching anime for years, since I was literally a baby, and even used to get bullied just for wearing a Digimon or Pokémon etc…. shirt, or bringing my cards to school to show the older kids, 6th-8th graders, cause they liked that stuff but kids my age would poke fun at me for it. I never let that stop me from enjoying the amazing escape of anime from this reality we call life. Also there are only few anime I’ve never seen in sub and that’s Pokémon and yu-gi-oh and a few others I watched back in the day. Sorry for the not so tiny rant, I just felt like you guys should hear/see this for the sub vs dub debate on which is better and that will never disappear because people can’t agree that Naruto is an amazing show in both dub and/or sub, but again personally I think it’s better in dub.

Man, Monday and Wednesday are my favorite days of the week because of these reactions. I started watching Naruto when it was un-going on TV and never finished it. I stopped watching few episodes into shippuden. Although my friends spoiled the hell outta the show for me, since they continued watching, so I have knowledge of big episodes, deaths and moments like these, which made me not wanna continue watching. So to be able to watch these for the first time with y’all is truly awesome. I get to know the details behind it all and truly enjoy the show again. Although I have these little bits of important knowledge, I am able to forget and experience these like I didn’t know and can’t help but get emotional in sometimes and shocked in others and it’s mostly because of y’all, so thank you! Itachi has always been one of my favorite character in Naruto and all anime, even tho I never watched this far. I fell in love with his design and abilities, although I didn’t and don’t know much about his true intentions were, so I’m so hyped to watch the next episode and hopefully find out more about it! In my case I loved Itachi since he was first shown, remember most of us were teens watching this, and a lot of were going thru our emo phase, Itachi was the definition of the perfect character, dark, mysterious and overpowered asf, also he has a very unique speech pattern that's always vague and philosophical, even if he is evil, he is the coolest evil character I had seen, the way he folded Kakashi without even moving, and the fact that Orochimaru mentions that he can't take Itachi body because itachi is stronger, right after he killed the 3rd Hokage which at the time in the show was probably the strongest character. Kishimoto pretty much build the best character for teen boys in OG Naruto
