I would love to see you guys react to kakegururi (I think that’s how it’s spelled) it’s this highschool show about gambling it actually kind of insane but very intriguing. I think you guys would enjoy

india holloman

She’s just innocent haha we get it we sometimes don’t feel about that tho

Ron Jackson Jr

Netero’s smile and Gon’s face at the end 🔥🔥

The Dark Knight

it's crazy fr

Blaw

i think we actually got everything you said and even talked about it lol

Michelle Lam

Yeah obsession or unconditional loyalty are a thing😂

Usher

It’s just funny at this point there should definitely be a compilation made of that 😂

Rja831

Because that's what she thinks about, that's what she knows, that's her personality. (I guess)

Susanom

Why does Michelle think every one is in love with everyone 😂😂

Rja831

@Nick Obeso My favorite part of the entire series is the Gungi game. Pacing has nothing to do with action. Stretching out moments far longer than necessary, over-exposition, focus on characters and subplots that add little to the story—the CA arc deserves its praise, but it is hardly even debatable that it is riddled with pacing issues.

Michael H

yes there will be cool fights, but you probably wont think it's worth it with all the stuff in between if you dont like this episode lol bc it'll mostly be this moving forward. the pacing between each episode will vary but this format is the formula for the invasion arc. some ppl love it, some ppl dont. i love it and think this is togashi's best writing, but if you dont it's ok haha it is pretty different from how the show has been told

Jay rellim

yeah the killua x ikalgo staredown was about 20 seconds too long but tbh that was the only thing. there is a lot of stuff going on simultaneously, both internal and external across 12 main or main-ish characters (15 characters total)

Jay rellim

The pacing is good, y’all just want action after action

Nick Obeso

Killua is an assassin, or was born to be one. He was taught to work solo with no friendships involved. He isn’t used to friends like gon and ikalgo, which is also a great explanation when bisky said killua would leave gon to die, his older brother had implanted the “assassin” mindset in him. Now that he is more free in a way, his body is now moving to protect those friends he grew to not have. Hence why he’s so shocked by his actions, until ikalgo thanked him.

The red guard actually reminds me of something from Parasyte

Jahmilla

To kinda explain, Killua at this moment is similar to young Kakashi mission about mission comes first before saving comrades but learnt from Obito that those who abnadon comrades are scum lesson. Killua had always been solo and about successfully completing his assassination jobs in the past. It was only until meeting Gon that he started to change his mindset as he wanted to protect Gon. With such high stakes, completing their mission and sticking to their own roles is vital and he has been telling everyone to not leave their roles no matter what happens. However, what we saw here was Ilkalgo may die when encountering the 2 ants that Killua saw and his instincts made him kill those ants so that Ilkalgo can proceed with his mission without getting hurt. Killua has grown enough to even protect other friends besides Gon even he was shocked and blanked out for a moment by his actions.

I don't necessarily mind a slower pacing. But in this case it is a bit too slow, and the explanations are too reliant on the narrator, especially in this episode. I'll give a few examples. When shoot gets injured, and starts flying on one of his hands, the narrator explains his thought process. But I would have liked to hear his thought process from Shoots own thoughts, instead of through a narrator. Imagine a scene where Shoot realizes his leg is busted up. He starts to panic for a moment, as he has a tendency to do. But then he hears Morel saying "Shoot, it's up to you". Now Shoot snaps back into his fighting mode, quickly thinks of a way to keep fighting, which leads him to come up with the idea to fly on the hand. This feels like it would have soooo much more payoff to watch, rather than a narrator saying "He has never done it before, but he realized this is his ultimate technique. Also, he covers his eye for no reason, just because" A second example is of course when Killua and Ikalgo run past each other. There was literally 50 seconds where we just saw the two of them run in slow motion towards each other. No narration, no thoughts being told to us. The only thing we get, is a few seconds of Killua's expression changing a bit. And that is only talking about the worst part of that scene. If we actually take the whole scene from when Killua first notices the two ants, up until the point where him and Ikalgo part ways after the "thank you", that took 4 minutes and 44 seconds. I'm sure that could have been done in around 2 minutes, and it might have still felt a little slow.

Leona DiCarryo

the chairman pointing to gon where pitou is was so goated gon is ready for the smoke

J

Yoooooooo love you guys

Ruben Aragon

pouf is so extra lol

BowlCutNinja

Nope lol

Abigail Jerry

Dudeeee can’t freaking wait for THE episode

Abigail Jerry

Pouf is A CHARACTER.

botanbutton

There will be fights but during the initial parts of the invasion, the cast is not talking but thinking and feeling. The narrator is here to let us know what is going on in a more concise way than word for word from the characters. "Show, don't tell" may have worked but I think Togashi wouldn't want fans to be completely confused and get the wrong interpretations from what's being shown. It's understandably not an approach that everyone will like but I think it works for how Togashi writes and characterizes.

botanbutton

Everything we've seen so far has happened in such a short span of time in "real time" which is why narration and slow motion is heavily used. I think these episodes are great since they set a good foundation for the payoff we eventually get. If you do ever want to spoil yourself go on youtube and search hunter x hunter palace invasion real time.

Victor

Just let em watch

Reddd Hunter

They understood everything you just said

Jay

You're not alone, the fandom is split on the pacing/narration of this part of the story.

Kwuagga

This entire arc is just so hype!!

dmc 1219

The most important word in the ant chapter is "change". The changes in everyone are what you need to pay attention to.

kk xx

Yeah he’s too much in dub lol. Side note, the narrator in dub is amazing.

Sam

I originally watched hxh in dub, and Pouf in the dub might be even more comically obnoxious. Like he's so dramatic and down bad that it's funny. If you thought Hisoka's "Schwing" moment was wild, then Pouf is something else. Youpi too lol

defnotdai

Pouf 🧚

mamimumemo

I never said I only wanted fighting. All I asked was is all the scenes that involve fighting have continuous pausing. I didn't know I needed my hand to be held and have an anime explained to me. I can know whats going on by watching the scene myself

Jeremy Schultz

really? Because I loved and thought every scene of this show has been amazing. Up until this point.

Jeremy Schultz

Can I assume you like JJK?

SoySauce

Isn't that what they said from about 12:00 to 12:10? They corrected their initial view and said that he went to help Ikalgo when he told Gon stay on track. They didn't say stay on track word for word but it is assumed they meant that.

Con

u shouldve realized long ago that hxh isnt just about the fights, its also about the emotion and the build up. if u want only fighting you should go watch some anime that include tournament type stuff like record of ragnarok, god of high school, or even baki

gdnsx

To me I’ve always seen the slow pacing of this arc necessary since the major point of this arc especially at this point is to highlight the mentality of everyone. Just seeing where everyone is at psychologically just helps in highlighting what the characters are doing and why they’re doing it a certain way.

Moses T24

While having some the best fights in anime haha

Jordan

But it's so good cause the detail he goes into for every characters mental state so the pay off feel so much greater

Jordan

Gon is him that's all we can say

Jordan

Yall completely missed the point about Killua. The plan was that Killua is to stick to Gon, and it was explained right there and then that Killua was the one who kept saying to Gon to stick to the plan, but here he is, reacting to something and left Gon to go ahead alone, albeit just for a very short few seconds

Damien Lee

I think you can stop watching if that is what you are looking for. This show was and never will be about flashy fights

Damien Lee

are they ready?

T K

Yes there will be more fights, but you gotta immerse yourself more in the storyline. This show isn't all about flashy fights. This ain't one of those shows that's carried by its fights. The explanations, pausing, perspective hopping, etc. are all essential to the storyline hitting that much harder.

defnotdai

Totally agree. I think Yorknew is the best overall because of the pacing, but the payoff in CA arc trumps all

JD

Episodes like this is why the ant arc is only my second favourite arc in the show. This whole episode is basically just 20 seconds or something in real time, and the narrator is explaining everything in too much detail, while it is shown in slow motion. The overall pacing in this arc is too slow at times. But it does have so many of the best moments in the series as well. The arc could just have used a bit more "Show, don't tell".

Leona DiCarryo

oh so ur one of those people, i see....

Trinature

Is there actually going to be cool fight scenes? Or is it just going to be this continuous slow motion and narrator explaining stuff? It's kind of annoying me. I want to see some action here without pausing and explanations

Jeremy Schultz

Pouf is such a Drama Queen omg

Trinature

Yes, you were correct with that change in Killua. He rushed to kill those ants in order to protect Ikalgo. He had one of those "my body moved before I could think" moments. But to put things into perspective even more, try to clock the subtle changes in Killua AND Gon. Cause for better or worse, Killua definitely isn't the only one changing before your eyes...

defnotdai

Almost there I can't fucking wait

Max__

Gon evil arc aktived again

Tini loves-NOYA❤️ #remsubaru

I hope we see 115&116 together would be AWESOME 🙏💎
