I went to a cheap shitty theater where the screen was dark af and I couldn't even see the scar Denzel was showing. Shoulda learned my lesson from seeing Black Panther 2 at the same place and I couldn't see Namor's people properly at night I saw Wicked at AMC tho and everything looked wayyy better than I thought it would!

Ariana and Cynthia were perfectly cast and sounded AMAZING, so now I'm looking forward to part 2 next year

That pathetic dry dull yellow grass during the Wizard and I? TERRIBLE. The romance was off, but in Johnathan Bailey and Cynthia Erivo's defense, they're both gay. The chemistry between Ariana and Cynthia? Chef's kiss. Ariana spent her whole life wanting this and I hope she receives the Oscar for Glinda. We need to pass the baton to young actors, and young people in general. We need to bring back the Oscar category for exceptional young actors. Ariana always feeds the fans, so some of us are getting greedy. Wicked was way more important than Eternal Sunshine, and she still gave us stuff. I reread that list of other actresses that auditioned for role, Ariana was the best choice.

I think Part 2 will be Cynthia’s time to shine and potentially snag an Oscar nom.

I get that she’s the bigger star and everything so it comes with the territory, but cynthia , although her performance is more subtle , still did fantastic. I know in part two/act two she’s gonna have a bigger spotlight on her character, and i know act one is more of the glinda show, but I really would be shocked if she didn’t get at least one nomination too, I mean Idina and Kristen were both nominated for the best actresses at the Tony’s with it going to Indina in the end, so why can’t both of them compete against each other. In my opinion, defying gravity, and the school dance scene that they share together solidified cynthia a nomination I don’t care 🤷🏽♀️ yes Ariana was fantastic too, but I think cynthia was such a magnetic performer in this. Worse comes to worse if cynthia doesn’t get anything this time around, They better give her some nominations for part two. I also really like Ariana’s interpretation of Glinda. I know some of the theater snobs are complaining that she wasn’t “Glinda” enough, but I think it works for the screen. I’m glad she didn’t do a flat out impression of kristin and tried to make it similar to the performances of all the other broadway stage actresses that followed

Mostly because many of the subtle jokes occur during the singing and Ariana doesn’t enunciate here. I’m so sorry. I also found her a little dull and lacking the pep Glinda needs. I wasn’t expecting Kristin Chenoweth’s giddy portrayal, but “Popular” pissed me off! 🫠🫢 She was my least favourite and I hate that I’m disagreeing with Kenya before I go to sleep. *Dancing Through Life was the best thing on the screen imo.
