The Unreality of Pro Wrestling

The production of this video was pretty arduous, it took a LONG time to get the script flowing write, and editing wrestling is pretty arduous given how often they cut back and fourth. I think the script went through about 12 major revisions, and infinitely more small cuts and edits.
I also got hit with about sixty (like, literally sixty) different copyright Strikes, all of which I had to whittle down over several days of cuts, edits, and reuploads. Genuinely would not wish it on my worst enemy, it was an anxiety inducing experience.
This is also one of those videos where I gave it 100% of everything I have, a culmination of everything I’ve learnt about making videos, and I really hope you feel that when you watch it, its one of my favourite things i've ever created.
It has unfortunately left me pretty exhausted, a combination of some very intense work weeks, combined with some real “LIFE” stuff has left me pretty drained.
Im flying out to the US tomorrow for a two week trip to Too Many Games in Philidelphia, and Anime Expo in LA, im gonna use that time to rest up and recharge. This means I wont be too active on discord till sometime in early July, I may post the odd review hole depending on how up to it I fee, but for the most part I want to concentrate on resting up and recharging my creative juices, cause hooo boy, i am burnt down to the cinders. I promise a campfire hang out upon my return.
In the mean time, thanks again for all the support and patience. Its meant a lot seeing how into the review hole people have been, as well as just everyone hanging out and being chill on the discord.

2023-06-30 19:19:46 +0000 UTCThe Tribal Chief gimmick should have been the one he got right after he left The Shield. His face looks more intense with the beard, the sharper cheek bones and temples. I don’t think it’s that much different than the previous persona. The biggest difference is that now he has menace to his action. Where as before he would try to be funny and cool to be liked and get approval now he tries to be funny and lighthearted to manipulate those close to him. It’s like a more direct, dark and focused version of his previous gimmick. It’s almost like his previous gimmick was incomplete and half assed only 50%. They really screwed him by doing that to him. The whole story is really interesting. I saw the video more than a few times. I figure it’s the least I can do since Eyepatch has been working on this for half a year.

Your work is fabulous and important and thank you for telling the story of Roman in a way that isn’t just poopooing all over him. I loved him in The Shield but I didn’t like his solo stuff but even still I always felt bad for him. I knew he was working hard and that he didn’t deserve the hate and it always made me feel bad hearing him get booed when he was playing face. Your video did a great deal to remind me of that and gave me an opportunity to see where the story went in recent years. I stopped watching WWE once Crown Jewel in Saudi was announced because I felt morally wrong supporting a company accepting blood money from MBS and never looked back.

I am more than happy to pay the $1 every month and support you on here, easily my favorite YouTube creator but this is the best video you have don't since the Garfield video. As someone who only watches AEW (and Impact on and off), I don't really care much about the stuff going on in WWE and last year wanted both Sami and Kevin to not re-sign with WWE. However, the contrast between Sami and Roman was something that hadn't ever crossed my mind and seeing it in this form is remarkable.

2023-06-23 10:03:06 +0000 UTCAs I long time wrestling fan, I think you have managed again to brilliantly encapsulate what makes this weird live soap opera made of dudes in trunks beating each other with choreographed moves so special. And this could really be the ultimate Roman Reigns career documentary too. Personally I had given up on watching wrestling because of the desolation of the "SuperRoman Era", only getting back in 2021 mostly watching AEW but also catching up with WWE, especially under HHH creative, and I was almost astonished to see the devolopment of Reigns into a compelling main character, going from cringy superhero rejected by fans to actually good tv with the storyline of the Bloodline and Sami.
