Regarding the usage of jargon, there's a great quote in A Canticle for Leibowitz: "That's just it." He laughed. "The untrained man reads a paper on natural science and thinks; 'Now why couldn't he explain this in simple language.' He can't seem to realize that what he tried to read was the simplest possible language– for that subject matter. In fact, a great deal of natural philosophy is simply a process of linguistic simplification– an effort to invent languages in which half a page of equations can express an idea which could not be stated in less than a thousand pages of so-called 'simple' language. Do I make myself clear?"

Human artists, and humans in general, for sure take bits and pieces from other material and combine into a novel form the way AI does. What is missing from AI is experiential references and the emotional character that goes along with experience. I think the unique way humans feel, and particularly how we can suffer, is a major component of our art and creativity in general.

Yes, like Christmas! So much in one day—we’re so lucky!

Maher is most consistent; he still holds firmly to any opinion he takes hold of tho you have to live long enough to find out if it changed. The guy has lived long enough despite his life style ( is it the THC, the booze or the adenochrome he can purchase from all the liberals he knows?) You guys need a vampiric category for Maher live-alikes and he’d score a 5 ( Matt would only give him a 3 despite the adenochrome vials on the floor around him.

DTG with the hat trick of episodes today. It’s like Christmas has come early!
