Alpha v0.18 - A look at what's to come!
Added 2020-10-30 01:00:37 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
Firstly, let me preface this by thanking each and every single one of you for your continued support. It's what drives me to continue working on this game every day, and I appreciate the fact that so many of you are supporting this project.
This post will detail what's to come with Alpha v0.18, as well as when you can expect to test the update.
Slayer 2.0
This next major update provides a massive content update to Slayer. The existing implementation is quite basic and linear which can be quite boring at times.
Slayer 2.0 brings in 5 new Slayer Areas with a variety of new monsters for you to train on. 3 of these new Slayer Areas will contain monsters much stronger than those found in the Desolate Plains.
Alongside the new Monsters, you will see an assortment of new, unique, and powerful items which can be obtain from the new Monsters. Most of the new Slayer Monsters have their own unique item, and trust me, some of them are insane!
Slayer 2.0 isn't complete without a few core changes. You will notice a shake-up with the current implementation of the Slayer Task system, which will break Monsters up into 5 different categories of difficulty, allowing you to choose the type of task you want to go for.
The Slayer Shop will have some brand new items and upgrades for you to purchase, with some lovely QoL upgrades sitting in there as well (Auto Slayer).
Brand New Dungeons
Alongside the above, there is going to be a few more Dungeons added to the game.
Continuing on from the story around The Gods, a new challenge will await you after completing of the Ragnar Dungeon. This new Endgame dungeon will be extremely tough, and it won't be a Dungeon you can idle. Luckily, this Dungeon is only required to be completed once to obtain all possible rewards. I'll have more details surrounding this specific dungeon soon!
Another Dungeon that is being added is a heavily requested one - The Infernal Dungeon.
This Dungeon is similar to the Volcanic Cave, but multiplied by 10 (roughly) in terms of difficulty. The rewards are pretty juicy as well.
Reworked Offline Progress
This is something I've been toying with behind the scenes lately. It is extremely apparent that something needs to be done to combat the continuous issues surrounding Offline Progress (With the wait times, the crashing, reloading and errors).
I can happily say that v0.18 will come with a brand new Offline Progress system. This new system is able to calculate your Offline Progress instantly.
I'm pretty excited about getting this one out, so hopefully the transition to the new system is easy and straightforward.
When can you Test it?
Looking at the current development schedule, I'd say the Test server will be up in roughly 2 weeks.
The content for Slayer 2.0 is almost finished, and I'll be getting started on the new Dungeons and then continue to finish off the new Offline Progress.
Conclusion
I'm very excited for the next few Major Updates, as they are very content heavy and will provide everyone with much requested features and updates to hopefully keep you all busy!
Thank you again for your support. I will be posting another update closer to the Test release.
