MG Mando helmet

Ok, so as many of you know, my table is always full of random stuff I’m tinkering with. This one was kind of an impulse project.

I stumbled across a “concept” for the upcoming Mandalorian & Grogu… turns out it was just an AI image. But by that time, I was already halfway in, so I thought: why not finish it, add my own twist, and wrap it up?

So here it is — I present to you the new MG Helmet.

The original concept had this red/silver-grayish brushed and weathered look. The idea wasn’t dents or battle damage, but rather paint that looked scraped and torn away. I tried to replicate that — made a 3D render to give you a reference/template for painting when you build the model.

And since I’m on a roll with new things, I also included the 2D visor cutout templates so you can test them out on your laser/Cricut cutters or similar machines. This one also comes with a moveable visor — it’s not motorized, but it uses magnets that let the stalk go up and down, similar to my Crosshair solution.

As always, you’ll get:

Hope you like this little surprise project !

Looking forward to printing this helmet!

designed in tabs have problems with scaling and requre more supports , so its more negatives than positives. unless you have an example of those tabs that are not affected by scale and ruin the prints with tons of supports. i will gladly take a look and see what can be done :) the brace was not needed in my opinion here, i aded it in some previous helmets, but if you want a quick fix, just add a cube in slicer and position it where you want and click "slice", its faster, easier and more customizable than making a new model :)

2 things... Is there a way you could add a brace at the bottom of the t visor area that would go behind the visor to stabilize the front lower part of the helmet? And what about some clips or tabs to help hold the visors in place
