Laser / Cricut vizor template
Added 2025-09-20 08:45:27 +0000 UTCOk, another quick one — but I think many of you will find it useful!
To recap, when it comes to helmet visors I’ve usually been making:
a 3D printable mesh (for tracing to make visors, or in rare cases clear resin printing)
a vacuum forming template
a see-through mesh
And now I’ve tried adding another option (and will do more of these where it applies): a 2D cutout for laser/cricut cutters.
Now, this might not sound like a big deal, but getting the 2D shape to properly conform into 3D — so that once printed, cut, and bent it matches the 3D printed visor in size and shape — was actually pretty tricky. I think I’ve got it solved now.
This is a test run, made for the WW2 helmet visor since that was the last one I released. If you try it on your laser/circuit cutters, let me know how well it works!
A huge thank you to Harm Cremer for testing it out super fast — the first results already looked great and spot-on in size and shape.

yes i believe so, i'll make it for the upcoming helmet im doing as well, so i need a test run of few of them to check if the methods works, but then i will most likely update old vizors as well for the template

2025-09-21 08:07:08 +0000 UTCThis is very true, it’s very difficult to cut out a 3D shape. I ended up buying a resin printer for this purpose. I will try this method out as well :) thanks Marko!
