They have some really cool stuff in there, including a bunch of copies of the dozens of books wrote about Oz. There's even a cool Immersive experience (like the touring Van Gough one) that takes you through parts of the book. It's every cool!!!

Also the little ballet girls in the beginning is what made me start ballet at 4yo 🥲 I just HAD to get in those pointe shoes 😂

My grandma started the annual watch tradition by making snacks and making a whole night of it. My mom did that for me and my siblings and I passed the tradition to both of my sons! Now I have a 3 year old grandson who I'm also passing it to. 5 generations of tradition is amazing and I hope my grandson will pass it on to his children!

2024-08-22 08:45:26 +0000 UTCThis is so kool to watch this with you, my favorite pumpkins. There are so many anecdotes about this wonderful film but here is my favorite. Margaret Hamilton was a guest on a talk show many years after Oz and was asked about the longevity of Oz, how loved it is and how it's still around after all this time and she said she realized it one day after an unsuccessful audition she had been on. She didn't get the part, she felt nauseous and wanted to lie down, so she was going to go home, lie down for awhile and that would help her feel better. Then she realized that was it. The longing for home, for a sanctuary, was universal.

When you were wondering about how they colored the horse, I thought I remembered that it was basically food coloring. Googled to see if I remembered correctly and found this (copied and pasted here): "The ASPCA refused to allow the horses to be dyed; instead, technicians tinted them with lemon, cherry, and grape flavored powdered gelatin to create a spectrum of white, yellow, red, and purple. They had to be prevented from licking the colored powder off themselves between takes." I was right. Yay for the ASPCA. It appears the horses were treated better than the people on this movie set all thanks to them. â¤ï¸
