Chapter Postponed

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing time this Halloween! Though stressful, I had fun and got to see some good friends. Unfortunately, those were the best parts of this week, because the rest of it kicked my ass.

I wanted to get this week's chapter out today, but it's not happening for two small reasons and three big ones.

The two small ones were: Halloween stuff and a surprise (for me) visit from my husband's friend, which made me spend Thursday cleaning house so he could spend the night.

The big ones were:

1. My son spilled water under my laptop. I was scared to turn it on, so I let it dry for a whole day just to be safe. It's fine now, but this happened just before Thursday. Waiting made me miss my first editing day, but it did give me the extra time I needed to clean the house. At that point, I figured I'd make up for it by working extra hard and long on Saturday and Sunday to get the chapter out... of course, now I know that was a mistake.

2. I received my COVID vaccine on Thursday, which made my arm and body hurt a lot two days after the fact. It had me lying in bed sleeping for most of the day (which happened to be Saturday, the day I needed to work on editing). What sucks is that I asked the nurse if there were any side effects from the shot so I could prepare myself, but she told me that she hadn't heard about any for this new one... I guess I'm one of the lucky few who experienced some. FML.

3. And the biggest reason — my mom. After I took my son trick-or-treating, I read a text from my sister that they had to take my mom to the emergency room. After spending the night in the hospital and having an MRI, the doctors found nothing wrong with her to cause her condition. Hopefully, a neurologist will be able to give us more details. She's since returned home and been given orders to not drive. I'm still worried about her. It's been hard to focus on anything productive.

I will try to get the chapter out when I can. It will either be Wednesday, and I'll be pushing myself to get it out, and then another chapter on Sunday. Or it will be Saturday, and I'll just skip posting on Royal Road this Friday. I'll have to see how I feel mentally tomorrow because I'm still processing everything. I'm not able to split my mind ten different ways like Lin. T.T

PS. I think, in the future, I'll take Halloween week off. I don't think I can handle another week like this anytime soon.
