Chapter Debrief | Session 𝓒ixty-Eight

Hi Lusties, I hope everyone's week was amazing:) Let's debrief chapter sixty-eight together.

Monroe threatening to strangle the driver with her belt was the most hilarious opener for this chapter. Even if she was entirely serious... The "welcome to hell" was actually funny too, but please don't scare us Ro Ro.

Liberty was also so sweet this chapter, especially with trying to calm her down and insisting that the driver pull over. Libs was definitely more protective of Ro, especially when the driver made her mad.

It's sad that Liberty felt useless in this situation, and Monroe got her control ripped from her by her parents. They were basically forced to go to the estate, which was probably one of the most insane houses I've written about.

It makes sense why Monroe's house in Seattle has more depth, like decorations, or even warmth, as Liberty described.

Ro didn't want to live like her parents in the slightest.

I know her father didn't make an appearance in this chapter, but her mother...

I'm sure Clarisse was just as a lot of you imagined. Also, Monroe telling Liberty that emotions repulse her mother truly adds up with how Ro was raised.

The entire conversation with Clarisse felt so tense, even as I was writing/editing it, I felt like I was holding my breath😭

I think a lot of you expected Monroe to be dismissive of Liberty in front of her mother or parents, but it's the exact opposite. She was more protective than anything. Also, the Botox comment Monroe made was absolutely unhinged, we love her.

How do we feel about Clarisse so far? It was barely a suitable conversation, but first impression-wise, there was a lot here. Feel free to drop your thoughts and theories below. Book club is officially in sessionπŸ“šπŸ€

Would you rather live in a bigger house or a smaller house?

Gotta say, the name choice for Clarisse is so on point

"welcome to hell" πŸ“Œ When I tell you I burst out laughing lmao, it's the last thing I would imagine Monroe saying. That's was very "human of her" πŸ“Œ I love how they both complement each other when it comes to being protective. Liberty is actually very observant, she knows when to step up and when to give Monroe all the control, love that for them. πŸ“ŒSassy Monroe made an appearance and it was amazing. Lol. I never imagined she would clap back at her own mom. I think we all held our breaths during Libby's first interaction with her. πŸ“ŒSmaller house
