My wife and I are from the U.K.. My answers were butter, clotted cream, jam, and marmalade. When she heard the episode her first answer was the combination of lemon juice and sugar. After a discussion she thinks that the answers Nick had were for what you’d refer to as crepes, as that was her understanding of pancake, whilst I and yourselves were thinking of American pancakes. Golden Syrup is ancient here, and has a very distinct flavour. I wouldn’t turn it down, but if I had a choice of maple syrup or honey then either of them would win out easily.
