How I Clean Oil Paint Brushes

I use a scraper for it. Like a simple stove scraper.. And it works very well :)

Hello Daria, how do you clean your glass pallet?

Fanny

I’ve never tried using conditioner on the brushes, it might be a good idea for natural bristle brushes. I however mostly use synthetic filbert brushes of different sizes and synthetic round detail brushes in sizes 1, 0 and 00. They are from various brands. I like synthetic brushes because I believe they are more durable when it comes to painting with oils and using solvents. Washing brushes with water and soap is effective and cheap but it also can be very hard on them, brushes might lose shape after a while. So as an extra step I sometimes help them hold their shape using a tiny bit of oil because I want them to serve me longer :)

I have not tried the following idea: Use hair conditioner as a final rinse on soft brushes. Always wash liquin out of brushes with soap and water. Leaving drying oil in the brush will cause the brushes to become "gooey" and loose flexibility. I'm a huge pan of Princeton Brushes. What are your favorites, to all?
