Chapter 59: Island Vacation

Sunlight spilled through the oval windows, dancing across the polished oak paneling of the first-class cabin. 30,000ft beneath them stretched the vast reaches of the Pacific, clear blue waters for as far as the eye could see, not a landmass in sight. From their cabin, Midoriya and the rest of the passengers couldn't even hear the hum of the jet's four massive engines as they propelled them through the air at speeds even Hawks couldn't hope to achieve.

Aboard, Midoriya assumed that a few other passengers were asleep, as it was a 9-hour flight that left at 2 AM. Still, Midoriya was wide away from excitement and his early bird habits, as he just couldn't stay asleep long when the sun peaked over the horizon hours earlier.

Outside the cabin, there was a knock, to which Midoriya looked through the screen by the door to see who it was before giving them entry. “Oh my, I have to admit,” Monoma yawned, the boy still wiping away the last ties of slumber as he entered the private cabin and sat. Sleeping in first-class beats business."

“I’ve never been on a plane before, but it’s been amazing the entire time,” Midoriya was as usual for him, filled with excitement over this. The trip had been nothing but exceptional luxury from the jump.

An early dinner with his mother saw him waiting outside his apartment at 11 PM, long after he would typically be in bed. He had expected a car from the U.A. to take him to the airport, as he had been told he wouldn't need a train. Still, a fancy-looking sedan had pulled up, with a chaffer and everything. His chaperone for the trip was already inside and waiting for him as Monoma was being taken by a second car from his place.

When they got to the airport, they were led to a private lounge where they could sit, relax, and, if they wished, shop and eat. Midoriya didn't do any of that, having already had his dinner. After he saw the prices on some of the stuff they were selling…safe to say his wallet went untouched.

It was at the lounge that they found Monoma, already waiting for them. Hence, the two started talking to them, as they were really the only people they could converse with there, the rest all being people at youngest twice their age and looking to either be the stiff, no-nonsense sort or in other cases as Monoma put it, 'The sort that would smile as they sold their own mother housing in terrible areas.'

When the time came to board, Midoriya had expected a nicer-looking business class, as Uncle Masaru often used that class when he flew around for work. Still, instead, first class was wholly unique with their own cabin. They had a minibar, which his chaperon, Vlad,  made sure they didn't touch, snacks, and some nice complimentary gift bags. When it came to the entertainment, they had access to a large HDTV with just about every channel and movie out there. Sadly, they didn't have the energy left to enjoy it, and Vlad and Monoma were led to their cabins so that they could all rest.

"Well, I'm more surprised they didn't raise a fuss about your tag-along; perhaps the principal alerted them beforehand." Monoma noted, as last he checked, most airlines didn’t allow pets to just be carried, and certainly not ‘dangerous ones’

"She's a friend too; if she couldn't do it, I wouldn't have either." Midoriya turned his nose at such a statement, to which Koharu hissed in agreement, as she wouldn't be stored with the rest of the animals, which she doubted they were.

“Should we order breakfast then?” Monoma asked.

Vlad, reading something on his tablet, shook his head. "We should be landing soon. Give it maybe another 40 minutes." He confirmed this by looking at his watch and recalling what he had been told when he asked one of the flight attendants earlier.

"Could be sooner; I can already know it," Monoma pointed, to which Midoriya gasped as he pressed his face against the window. He looked out over the open waters for a moment before he saw it: a giant man-made island, a disk of science and steel floating along the ocean's surface.

“You can-oh my Gosh, it’s really it. The island that can move anywhere and is home to over 10,000 scientists, I-island!” Midoriya fanboyed, as he had only heard stories of it and, at times, had dreamed of going if only to find something that would make him normal. Still, he didn't have such dreams nearly as much as he used to. Besides, even without that baggage, this was still an exciting moment!

“If I had my pick of a place to start our summer vacation, this would be it.” Monoma smiled, keeping his anticipation mainly to himself, but Vlad could see just how eager the boy was. Not that he faulted them; this was something that many could only do a few times in their lives.

“It’s going to be so much fun!” Midoriya had seen so many reviews and videos on this place, even speaking with one of Hado-sempai's classmates who won the trip last year. They gave him so many ideas for what he could do, what places to eat at, and what attractions to hit first.

“Well, succeeding in life does come with perks, Midoriya,” Vlad noted to two, turning to the pro who relaxed into his chair. “And for winning the festival, this is yours.”

"Thanks again for picking me as your plus one." Monoma rubbed his hand through Midoriya’s wild locks.

"It wasn't easy; there were so many options to choose from…" If that came from anyone else, Monoma would be inclined to believe that it was a backhanded compliment, implying that he wasn't the first choice or that Midoriya knew better people, but with Midoriya? There was no such thing; he doubted the guy had such a mean bone in his body, so he could take the comment literally.

"Well, I'm honored, and I'm sure the rest don't have any hard feelings. Knowing you, you would have tried to invite the entire class." Monoma joked, to which Midoriya muttered but didn’t deny. He had taken forever to pick.

Monoma nodded, though there was an elephant in the room, as he eyed up their teacher. “Still, I am a little confused by your presence, Vlad-sensei,” He stated. “Is this related to the school, a sponsorship?”

Vlad hummed in thought, momentarily wondering how much he could say as people tend to keep such things private, but Midoriya gave a silent go-ahead. “Yes and no. I’m here as Midoriya’s chaperon.” He explained.

“Is that normal?” Monoma asked, recalling school trips that typically had a parent or adult sibling accompanying them. However, considering U.A. would let them spend a week with a hero, he had assumed it would be different. Perhaps not, as they were still teens, after all.

Vlad had an idea of his thinking, but he denied that. “No, this is a special case.”

"Remember when I said I lived at a temple for a while?" Midoriya spoke up, drawing Monoma's attention. When he nodded, Midoriya went on, looking a little sheepish. "Well, I kinda…sorta used my quirk illegally, burned a villain saving Bakugo, and ran from the heroes. I'm allowed to attend U.A., but part of the requirements is regular mental health check-ups and having a pro close by to monitor me."

Ryukyu could have handled this, as he found out, but as Hado-sempai had said, the woman was far too busy to leave the country like that. Lucky for him, the authorities weren't the uncompromising type; otherwise, he would have been forced to remain in Japan. All they needed was a hero, and when he called U.A. to explain things, the principal was more than willing to lend aid.

Monoma didn't see it like that, frowning at the insult that was the idea that Midoriya could become a villain. Was he a little weird? Of course, he was, but that was no reason to treat him any differently than the rest. "That seems excessive; anyone who's spent more than 5 minutes with you could tell you that much."

Midoriya wiggled a little as Koharu agreed with Monoma that her human was better than that. "I know, I know, but it's just a formality. It's not like I'm restricted to where I can go or need to wear an ankle monitor or something. Besides, it's not like Vlad-sensei is a bad pick; I've given him no reason to think I'll turn bad."

Vlad smiled at how Midoriya spun the story. "He's not wrong. If anything, this is more of a mini vacation for me than anything as I won't need to do much, " he noted before cracking a smile as he recalled something humorous. Ectoplasm and Midnight both wanted it, but as your homeroom teacher, I won out." They had been all so devastated that they lost out on what was basically paid vacation time, and they didn't handle it well.

“See, nothing to worry about.” Midoriya smiled at that, to which Monoma shook his head, a smile on his face.

"You're really a glass-half-full person, aren't you?" Monoma asked, but their conversation was halted by an announcement.

Attention, passengers, this is your captain speaking. I would just like to inform you that we'll be touching down at I-island International in roughly 26 minutes. As we descend, the cabin crew will direct you on what to do, but before then, I would like to extend my and Theed Airways’ thanks for flying with us. We hope we’ll be seeing one another again.”

Hearing that, Vlad called up one of the flight attendants on the video call. “Excuse me.”

Yes, what can I do for you?” The smiling attendant asked.

“Will we be required to remain in our cabins?” Vlad asked, to which the man shook his head.

Not for another few minutes, sir. Don’t worry, we’ll make the announcement when it’s time.”

“Thank you,” Ending the call, Vlad turned to the two he was technically in charge of. “Well, it seems like you two should hurry up and get changed, especially you, Midoriya. I heard that the support company finally delivered your new costume.”

“Right!” Both got up, Monoma heading to his cabin to grab his costume’s case while Midoriya pulled his out from under his seat and went towards the bathroom to get dressed.

Line Break

The landing came right as the pilot said. The trio-now all dressed in their hero gear, disembarked, taking in the fresh, wild scent of salt, crisp ozone, and other scents of the hundreds if not thousands of marine life that called these waters their home.

Midoriya's costume had changed slightly from what he had first worn. His white kosode now had a semi-transparent region following his spine. Underneath his sleeves, he wore green snake scale-themed gloves that went up to his elbows. This meant that he had modified his right vambrace, as it now was slightly larger, with a lighter shade of blue that matched his sleeves. His red hakama had been lengthening a little but also included padded armor.

But what he had been most eager for was his near headwear, which now sat lower and further on his head, allowing ample space for his 'hair' should he transform. Their shape no longer was that of a snake's fangs but the mandibles of a beetle, curved and thick yet lightweight so as not to put pressure on his head and adding 9 inches to his silhouette.

“They have pretty high-tech security,” Monoma noted as they went through it. But instead of stopping and going through the norm of going through a metal detector, being padded down, and having their luggage scanned with an X-ray machine, they just stood on a conveyer belt, which took them through a couple of scanners, which confirmed their identities, their passports, and their tickets, allowing them to be there.

"They don't get many visitors, but I guess many of those who do frequent didn't appreciate all the strict checks.” Vlad replied, as this was the sort of place only the investors and fellow scientists ventured to, and if they were half as odd as Power Loader…

"Still, they had to find something that works, as it would defeat the entire purpose of the place if people could smuggle things in and out." Midoriya replied as they continued onward to the luggage station and waited for theirs to come through. The station had a dandy screen pointing out which flight the luggage was coming from, with a list of which had already had their run with extra info on where to go should you need to check.

"Maybe Japan could still learn a thing or two," Vlad stated, crossing his arms as he looked around the place. “I’ve never been a fan of the idea of I-island.”

“Why is that?” Monoma asked him, as he would figure a hero would love the place that worked to make his job easier, both in the field and through quirk science, which could be applied in the classroom.

“You two know why I-island was built, correct?” Vlad asked them as Midoriya's stuff came through first. The boy had packed just two bags: a large roller and a smaller duffel bag.

That seemed like an easy enough question, which was exactly why neither student responded, taking time to think it before Midoriya responded. "To protect the scientists, their families, and research from villains."

Vlad shook his head, grabbing his bags as they came through. "That's half the reason. The other half controls what research, support items, and other related discoveries make it out to the greater planet."

Monoma creased his brow. "Is that a bad thing? Some things should not be allowed out because of how dangerous they are."

As his student grabbed his things, which were just a backup and a large roller, Vlad explained, "On paper, that's a perfectly reasonable justification, but then you now have to decide on what counts as dangerous and to whom. Some items could be dangerous to the user, their targets, or maybe something else."

As they walked away from baggage, an automated voice announced that the day would be to preview the main event of the I-expo, which would start the following day. Thus, those without an invitation were to head towards another exit, which would take them directly to their accommodations. At the same time, like them, those with invites could proceed directly to the main grounds.

"Sponsors have much more sway here; many sit on the island's board of directors, and national governments also influence things." Vlad continued, putting the idea in their heads that the people here answered to some shadowy government or intragovernmental body. For both, having seen how biased people could be when it came to quirks and when they didn't fit into their 'ideas of a hero's power, they could imagine that such a board would have similar biased beliefs or exaggerated fears.

“Sounds complicated.” Monoma retorted.

"Believe me, it is. But you'll learn more about that in your second year when you look into national and international laws and the history of support item development," Vlad told them, as he didn’t have the time or interest to use their vacation to explain such to them. Monoma would already spend extra time with him and Aizawa during summer break. "Besides, it's my opinions on this. You'll find that even the U.A. staff are split."

"Is there anything good about this place, then?" Monoma asked, as this was starting to sound a bit…bleak.

Midoriya, ever the optimist, responded. "No one's ever committed a crime here, and their restrictions on quirk usage are pretty loose."

"That they are; it would defeat the purpose of their research goals if they had to get a license for that like you or me. And after a while, their quirk laws loosened for all residents and guests, which helps make the place such an ironic and highly sought-after vacation spot." Vlad recalled.

"I feel sorry for those who arrive with kids who can now play much harder." Monoma shook his head. Children were hard enough to handle; now imagine the little tyrants being able to freely use their quirks.

“Well, you’ll be in the thick of it, and if you see one in need, I trust you’ll do all you can to help.” Vlad chuckled, but both wouldn’t back down from such a basic calling of a hero.

“Of course!” Both confirmed as they made their way to the exit.

When they exited the terminal, the trio was met with one of the best sights they'd seen. The island's central region was a massive open space with paved walkways and roads, but plenty of green in the form of patches- no fields of grass, trees lining the streets, or shrubs hugging smaller structures and buildings. The buildings were painted or made from bright, welcoming colors.

Those were only the things that had always been there. Still, with I-Expo nearly upon them, the area was filled to the gills with exciting rides and attractions from what seemed to be magically floating pods that an entire family could ride in, roller-coaster that seemed more fantasy than reality and a giant water feature built to look like geysers made from water, only when they let loose, it wasn't just like a typical water feature like clips he'd seen of Las Vegas, oh no. they could spell out words like welcome messages and create fun images.

“Hello, I-expo!” Midoriya called out, arms wide open as if to hug the entire place, with eyes bright and wonder.

"It's truly a magical place, isn't it? I've heard that a picture speaks 1000 words; this place might need a few dozen pictures to capture half of its splendor." Monoma was just as awestruck by it all as it was. The place was designed from a child's dreams and held together by nothing but sheer optimism and witchcraft.

“With how you were talking on the way here, I assume you already have some ideas for where we should go?” Vlad joked, with Midoriya too happy to get embarrassed that he talked both Vlad and Monoma's ears off about what he wanted to do. Instead, he nodded as the man looked around. "Well, let's get to our hotel and check-in. Then we can explore the place."

At that moment, all three of their stomachs made it known that they hadn’t eaten since the previous night.

"How about we hit up somewhere to get some breakfast first?" Monoma suggested, a little sheepish after that moment.

“…Yes.” Midoriya nodded as they quickly turned and went to where they would be staying for their 3-night stay.

Line Break

Locating their hotel, they quickly deposited their bags, with Midoriya and Monoma sharing a room while Vlad would be in the one next door. That done, and having found a place to grab a bite to eat, they set off for the rides. Starting off slow, they ironically went for the Lighting Loop, which was originally built to test equipment for speedster heroes but was converted into the world's fastest roller coaster.

And it earned that, as it could hit speeds of 300km/h in some spots. With its many turns, twists, climbs, and steep drops, it was the sort of ride you needed to be prepared for. When the pictures were taken, they showed that Monoma had passed out after spiralling around like DNA strands at over 250km/h.

Next came the Telepath’s Trap, which Vlad didn't go in with them. Before they entered, they both had to wear a special helmet that read their brain functions and was directly connected to the maize. Why was that important? Because the maize, built like a giant rubric cube, could use your thoughts to change its very shape.

The walls, corridors, and dead ends remained in place and shifted in real time. Their creation was linked to the researchers' work into the increased intelligence and problem-solving that came from intelligence-boosting quirks and better-adapted training and educational programs. Though something told both, when they eventually got out, their principal wouldn't take kindly to the giant maize…unless he was pulling the strings.

After the mental test that was the Telepath's Trap, they went for something that didn't require much and was more a physical activity in the Elemental Surf, which was a massive indoor dome where surfers could ride on waves, not just of water but of wind, mud, sand and what Midoriya was naturally drawn to fire. The ride was created when researchers wished to test materials and tools in all environments known for damaging such.

Vlad didn't partake in that last one, but Monoma copied Midoriya's quirk. The two had a great time on the rolling waves of inferno. Koharu loved it as much as they did as she came out of the waters, like fiery sea serpent and scaring the heck out of more than a few people. Lucky for them, the people running it didn't mind and, in fact, asked they stay longer as others enjoyed getting pictures riding alongside what looked to be a monster out of two polar opposite myths of water and fire.

Having had their fill of such activities, they looked for some performances. Some had beenwereidoriya had known about, but others were completely new. The Synapse-Sync-Symphony is one of the easier to understand, yet still trilling things.

A live concert in which the musicians and dancers wore similar headwear to what Monoma and Midoriya had worn early, only they synchronised their performances through them, allowing for real-time emotional and rhythmic cohesion without a word or cue given. Such made it feel like it was the performance of one yet many, with different styles melding into what should have been chaos and noise, yet it produced something truly beautiful.

In another performance, they saw more of the elemental stunts, only done by a team of magicians using their quirks to manipulate fire, water, earth, and air to create beautiful visuals while a renowned storyteller regaled them about the birth of the planet and the forces of nature that gave shape to the blue marble they called home.

Following that, they watched a performance from a group called the Aerial Artiste. The group was made up of several people with quirks that, in one shape or form, gave them the ability to levitate and float through the air, turning them into human stunt plants. The performances pulled off insane moves, at times flying so close to their viewing audience that they could give people high-fives.

Another performance combined several quirk users’ abilities as they were led into a darkened hall. Inside, they got to see the Chameleon’s Light Parade. People wore reflective suits, and as lasers hit them, they reflected them, creating bright, vibrant colors as they danced around. At the same time, a dancer with a heteromorph chameleon quickly took the stage, singing and dancing like any of the top idols back in Japan while altering their appearance as her performance went on.

Then, they learned that Vlad was a big Idol fan, as he seemed more hyped thanthan they did about this part of things.

Line Break

"Well, I would say that was an engaging morning," Vlad mused as the trio walked down one of the many streets, shops lining each side and thousands of tourists.

"It was so much fun!" Midoriya skipped along with them. In his hands, he carried a few bags of gifts he had bought for his family and friends. Though he couldn't get everything with his monetary issues, it was not like he had that much to spend.

"I didn't even know they could have so many things to do or see," Monoma also had purchased a few things and, now atop his hero costume, wore a Star and Stripes tee.

"Well, I'll leave you for now, then," Vlad announced, surprising them.

"But aren't you meant to be watching me?" Midoriya asked, to which the man turned and looked him over, his overbite always making him look grumpy.

“DO you intend to break the rules or commit villainy?” Vlad asked.

"No?" Midoriya felt that was a trick question, but for what and why? He couldn't figure it out.

"Then my job's done. Consider this a sign of my trust in your two. Now enjoy your time here. We'll meet at the party later!" Vlad turned and walked suspiciously back in the direction where they had some great toys and dog accessories.

“Well, what should we do now?” Monoma asked as the two looked around the place. There was no shortage of things to do, but that was in itself a problem.

“Well, I heard that they have this villain trial set up. Afterwards, we can hero hunt!” Midoriya suggested. Although they had only seen a few heroes thus far, Midoriya had been sure to get their autographs and pose for pictures with them. One had been impressed with Koharu, which led to them discussing snake care for 20 solid minutes.

"Sounds like a plan," Monoma replied as they made their way over. The walk was not especially long, and the two discussed some minor things and plans for what they'll do after their summer training camp, as they'll still have a couple of weeks off school.

When they arrived at the place, they found that it was styled like an open pit, with a central staging area where the contestants started before making their way through and up a rocky hill, with streams and rivers passing through it. Hidden along the course were their robotic targets, which heroes of all shapes and sizes would have to handle, although, at present, it seemed like a slow day. "Welcome. Are you ready to test your might and flex those hard-earned muscles?" The receptionist asked, a friendly smile on her face.

“Naturally, what’s the process for sighing up?” Monoma asked, speaking for the two as Midoriya eyed the course, no doubt thinking of how he'd handle it.

"That will be easy. We just need your name, hero name, and quirk details here…here…and here!" The receptionist walked him through the steps, a form having been held at the ready, and with just a few lines of info, she snatched the pen out of his hand. "And we're done. We'll just run it by the island's visitor database, and when we get the all-clear, you'll be in line."

“Is it a big one?” Monoma asked, and the woman shook her head.

"Not at the moment, but when things open up tomorrow, you'll be hard-pressed to find a slot. But you can try and set the bar by getting the best clearance time!" She assured them that, as the place was a sure eye-drawer, how many heroes could resist the urge to show off what they could do.

“Sounds like fun.” Midoriya smiled as he filled in his details and went first.

Line Break

Please welcome our next challenger! He’s on the young side, but that just means he’s got a lot more to prove!” The announcer introduced him, though Midoriya worked to ignore them. Just like the sports festival, he was alone in Koharu with Monoma. Like then, he ignored the crowd and focused on what lay before him. “The villainy tag course has been reset; ready...go!

Not wasting a second, he immediately called on the flames, feeling the heat racing through his body. His body started to glow while his spine lit up like a Christmas tree. With his power boasted, he raced into the track, ascending through the course. There wasn't an obstacle that could slow him down as he went from robot to robot, kicks and punches shattering their metallic bodies, with pieces still in the air as he raced off to the next.

To finish things, when he reached the top and spotted 3 of them, he used a weak Serpant’s Fire Scales to demolish them, leaving three fires burning as he landed at the top, having cleared the course.

Amazing, he’s got a clearance time of only 18 seconds, that puts him into first place!” The announcer cheered for him, and the meager crowd applauded him as he left the stage. He passed by Monoma, who was walking into the field, the blonde passing over his reptile friend to him.

“I’ll handle this,” Monoma gave him a high-five.

"You know it, I hope you had a big meal." Midoriya joked as Monoma rolled his eyes as if he would make that mistake. Midoriya had been with him when he had breakfast, and the two had been snacking.

Ladies and gentlemen, another challenger has stepped up to the plate!” The announcer started, Monoma cracking his neck and rolling his arms as he walked into view. “Another young bull, you'll think he's not all that, but after that last one, we should expect great things! The tag course has been reset. Ready-go!

When he called on Midoriya's quirk, all fears of burning, flames, and smoke vanished. In place of such a primordial dread came a deep-rooted sense of joy and fulfillment. Sadly, he lacked Midoriya's fine control over it and instantly shifted into the fully transformed state, green lava and purple scales. This left him much slower than Midoriya and much less agile, but he made up for it with firepower and brute strength. He was like a bulldozer, equipped with a flame thrower that set fire to everything that moved.

Incredible, a clearance time of only 27 seconds, he’s in 5th place!” The announcer yelled in surprise and joy as Monoma, standing over the burning remains of his foe, left his transformed state fade, leaving him, thankfully, in his clothing as he didn't wish to flash himself to what had to be an international audience.

“That’s way faster than I thought, but my control slipped there near the end, I probably could have shaved off a couple more seconds…" Midoriya pondered as Monoma rejoined him.

“Considering my performance, that was marvelous, Midoriya," Monoma remarked, as he had been more a slug with a rocky shell than speed demon Midoriya had been. Still, alas, that was a drawback of his quirk, the fact he just didn't have enough time to train with each of them.

Midoriya was about to comment on that when Koharu noticed some familiar faces in the crowd and called it out, leading Midoriya to look in that direction. “Hey, isn’t that Yaoyorozu in the stands?”

Monoma followed where he was looking; low and behold, he saw Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Uraraka and Iida all watching them. With them was a blonde he didn't recognize, but her lack of a hero costume pointed towards her not being a student. “Well, I’ll be damned, I wasn’t expecting to see class A here.”

“Hi, guys! What are you doing here?” Midoriya called out to them, waving to their attention.

“We should be asking you two!” Uraraka shot back. Midoriya laughed as he and Monoma approached.

"Haha, it was a price for winning the Sports festival. Monoma is my plus-1. What about you?" Midoriya explained, and the three girls recall that he had taken home the gold this year.

"We came here with Yaomomo; her dad got invited and gave her his ticket." Jiro pointed out.

“I assume this has something to do with her insane wealth?” Monoma smirked towards Yaoyorozu, who sulked at the comment.

“It’s not as big as people make it out to be…” She muttered, but sadly for her, none believed her.

"We talked with Asui and Uraraka. Someone was planning on touring Venice like it was no big deal, and it wasn't those two." Monoma told her, which only caused the heiress to grow flustered.

"Stop bullying her about it; there are different strokes for different people," Midoriya spoke up in her defense, though Jiro was trying to hide her smile at the banter, as it was sure friendlier than usual.

"Is there anyone else from class B here?" Uraraka asked as they had already run into a couple of their classmates at the café.

"We know that Yanagi and Kodai are attending, and so are Shishida and Kaibara." Monoma took a moment to recall what the rest had told them before.

"Tokage and Fukidashi should also be here, but they have to wait until the Expo properly opens tomorrow. We were planning on meeting up with them." Midoriya added that that was something of a relief for him when Tokage mentioned she had already had plans to attend.

"Same with a few of our girls from our glass. Though Mineta and Kaminari seemed to have got part-time jobs so they could also visit." Yaoyorozu added, which seemed to brighten Midoriya's face at the idea of finding Tsu and spending time with her.

“Could we meet up and hang out together?” Midoriya suggested. The idea of having such a big group and doing all the rides—oh, he couldn't resist!

“That doesn’t sound like a bad idea.” Yaoyorozu smiled, with Midoriya clapping in joy.

“Sorry, but I’m a little lost here.” The blonde spoke up, her Japanese accented, but much better than Tsunotori's, with even her pronunciation on point.

Midoriya blinked before a look of horror formed on his face as he hurriedly bowed to her. “Oh, I’m so sorry, I don’t just forget to introduce myself, I swear!”

The unnamed girl tried to laugh it off. "It's fine. It seemed like a conversation between friends, and I didn't want to intrude."

Midoriya shoots his hand out. “Midoriya Izuku, and if you like, you can be our friend, too!”

“Just like that?” She asked, still shaking his hand and introducing herself as Mellissa Shield.

"Monoma Neito and yes-it's not hard to become his friend. He's quite sociable when his social battery isn't depleted." Monoma joked, to which Midoriya shoved him with his hips.

Line Break

And we’re back with another chapter, which takes us straight into the movie events, or at least, the movie settings as you'll soon learn. As you might have guessed from last week's chapter, but I had NO idea who Izuku would invite as Bakugo? That's easy, Kirishima. But Izuku as I've said in the past, type could be friends with everyone, and here is kinda is-no-one in class B dislikes him and while his friend group is smaller than the class, it's still pretty big. I couldn't even use who I'll ship him with as I still have no idea on that front either. So I just put the names into a randomizer and went with what name showed up the most in 6 pulls.
