Maybe there was another contributing factor to the collapse of the comic book distribution industry that no one knew about.
This is one of many freebie sketches I did for folks at conventions back in the day. I usually got to spend more time on them, even for free I tried to do something decent. This one's pretty primal. I got a nice letter the other day and two old drawings were attached. I know I'm still a fan of many artists that I liked back in 1992, but it knocks me out that folks have stuck around with me that long.
Back soon, asap. Weird week. I locked myself out of phone, and I can't remember my PIN #. I always use the fingerprint to unlock it, I didn't know leaving the phone on all the time meant I didn't get updates, and today I was prompted to put in my pin for "extra security" and the phone was locked. Nothing we've tried has worked, Sarah did some searching online for ways to get around it and we got bupkis.
Whoopie, I'm a ding-dong!
I'm very close to finishing a cover for Dark Horse, it's the one I posted about last week. It's been going pretty okay, the meds I've been on have kicked in to where I can draw for longer stretches and I haven't had to wear the wrist brace as often as I was used to. The arm isn't great but the wrist is the big deal, so this is nice. I still need to call to see the hand specialist and the physical therapy place the neurologist gave me referrals to. I also got some commissions work done, I know six of you out there -- if you're still out there -- have possibly been mentally sharpening knives for some time. Let me finish before I am finished for good. I will make good.
Oh, I forgot October 15th is when we need to get the taxes done. Filed for the extension and all that. Had to go find a lot of stuff today. Numbers stuff, tax stuff, adult stuff. Never fun. I'm one of those people who used to go to the ATM and withdraw $20 - $40 and when the receipt would come out I'd fold it in half immediately so as not to see the balance. I hate looking at those things. They're like financial mirrors, -- don't look! I can't believe rich people freak out about taxes. We should all have such problems. Right? Right. Especially considering everything else going on out there.
I shouldn't complain. I could be a comic book distributor.
More soon later.
