I Got Some Freelance Work, So Yay

And the rates are good, which is always good, because we need those checks. Or whatever they do now, transfers? Direct deposits? Late payments is what most of us call them, ha ha, I kid because everyone pays late it seems. Huzzah?
I'm working on the first one now (along with a couple of commissions), the other two are spaced apart so I can juggle them into other drawings/commissions. My hand seems to be doing better with the medication and resting it regularly. Discomfort, some pain flare ups but no cramping up or freezing.
The rough sketch above is for the first cover, the cover itself will not look anything like this save for the positioning. If this image looks a little familiar, it's because t's a nod to an old comic book cover. I've never really done an homage cover before, by the time I finish it might not be recognizable as such.
Anyway, this means soon I'll some new process posts and art to show off here. So yay.

I like that sketch, the problem is, it's just a prelim layout for placement. I', drawing a different character for the cover, and so far I haven't been able to figure the way this character's design works. Only have one panel of reference, and it's colored with an effect that fades the linework. I didn't know this villain character barely appears in the arc, at least the first four issues. WHomp whomp.

2023-09-22 13:57:56 +0000 UTCIt's an homage to that cover, I did some layouts for the "before" part and am adapting it to the "after". Unfortunately right now it's an homage to being rusty and stinking the house out not being able to draw the character subbing for the CLaw. Ugh.
