Comic Book Ephemera Item Of The Day: Marvel Check From 1991

From my first year as a full-time comic book professional/freelancer.

1991 was a good year for me in many ways. Anything seemed possible. Oh, well!

Okay, so the amounts are all over the place for two reasons -- #1, I was paid for for plotting and scripting/dialoging. #2 - I was usually turning in pages in batches and invoicing in batches. I don't know how the heck plotting got invoiced, I don't recall, because I think my plots were very loose breakdowns that I sometimes wrote on notebook paper. It's all hazy now. After issue #1 I was making everything up on the fly and sometimes didn't know where the hell things were always going.

Marie Severin inked the bulk of the series (sometimes helped by a bunch of people when Evan delivered his pages late, including Jimmy Palmiotti), Stephen DeStefano inked some, and one page was inked by David Mazzucchelli! Evan inked all of the covers except the first.

Curious what the different amounts are for (except for the cover for #4, of course) if you're willing to share.

so this combined issue 4 and 5's pay? If IRCC you were writer/penciller. I want to say you inked yourself but I'm fuzzy on that part (That or the inker stayed very true to you).
