Mostly i find several of your shortcuts brilliant to the point of genius. Most people don't even think about taking shortcuts the way i've seen in your art, they either dismiss them as "cheap" or "cheesy". To me? What you're doing is pure unbridled genius. Being able to cut a lot of corners and deliver art of this level of quality (and not just random renders) at this speed! And if you want to slow down to explore more quality artwork?! Fine by me! I won't complain at all! I'm totally into it! If you can manage this level of art with this maddening speed i just wonder what can you actually manage if you start pondering each single piece. I've seen previous art and it was magnificent, but they were also early art and they lacked a lot of the stuff you learned over the years... Plus if you want to slow down you might have time to experiment and find new stuff you like, and if you find new stuff, then you can apply it to the "grind" artwork which you say you "have" to output. So i guess it's a win-win.

It's just that i've seen you seldom do it, because most of the times, as you said you try and publish about 30 pieces of artwork per month if not more. That's an insane speed. Most artists i follow here manage around 4 to 8 per month and i must say your sketches oftentimes are on par with most of their art, those who actually manage 30 or more artwork per month not taking all the shortcuts you brilliantly found... don't manage anywhere near your art level. I don't want to dis the artists i follow so i'm not going to give names here. But yes, at best those who manage 30 posts of art per month are little more than black and white art of a "inked sketch" level quality. You deliver colors, backgrounds, shades, texture and a lot more.

2018-01-17 17:22:16 +0000 UTCyeah i know it does not seem like i want to do quality drawings but it is more like i can't. with lulu needing to be a weekly publication along with patreon needing as much as possible to keep members happy, i don't have much time to really polish a single work.
