This movie was so different from anything else we've seen! Mom and Kim have never seen anime, but besides that, they loved a lot of the 80s references! XD

Hi John! I can see that! When Mom, Kim and I are together, it brings more energy to whatever we are watching... and we are constantly interacting with each other and the movie... so it doesn't get boring much with our group :) Hope you enjoyed watching along with us better! :D

I like the idea of it, even though some things were slightly awkward.. I loved the friendships and their avatars! ... all the pop references were very entertaining too! ;)

I haven't read the book, but many told me how different it is from the movie... the whole romance/attraction thing was very strange due to not actually knowing the other person really... otherwise, it was a fun adventure movie and the references were funny too! XD

2018-10-04 04:18:22 +0000 UTCI loved watching this movie when I first saw it, unfortunately I had some problems with it; I tried to read the book when the trailers came out so I could get a basis, only read the first chapter. But I was surprised at the difference between how the aunt acts in the movie and the book. Also, I felt like the romance was getting a little forced in, I don't know it just didn't feel all that natural for me also a little weird since falling in love in video games where you can't see the actual person is not a very good idea. But other than that I quite enjoyed the references and especially the Shining challenge.

I think for me when movies go a little 'left field', I always have fun. Nice to see directors, even with constraints, try and make things a little different from the norm, while still being traditional :) A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one :D *Random non-spoiler Star Wars Episode I Reference lol*
