This hasn't WON our MOVIE Series POLL yet, but we wanted to squeeze in a few movies (if possible) before Kim and I leave for Disney in October. We'll most likely watch the original 3, then once this WINS the POLLS, we'll watch the entire series :D
As most of you already know, on our VIEWING ORDER POLL, the THEATRICAL RELEASE ORDER WON, so we are taking the original route most of you have journeyed though :) I am not very familiar with Star Wars, so all of your expertise really helps me out, so thank you! After reading all of your comments about what order to go in, I am quite happy we are going the theatrical way now. Keep in mind, Mom and Kim have NO knowledge of this universe AT ALL, so main plot points we take for granted, would not impact them in a good way at all (like who Luke's father actually is) or certain people dying. That and I do believe the special effects may be a bit jarring going back and forth... anywho, thanks so much for VOTING!
Mom and Kim ONLY saw this movie once (Kim was a child!), so they hardly remember anything (except for the names which impressed me!). They have NO idea what happens afterwards.

Oh! And my brother Tom lent us his Bluray version of the original trilogy... it doesn't specify what version it is, but the special effects look a bit better, along with some extra CGI with Jabba and some other aliens... I thought Han shot first in this version... but upon editing the Fair Use version now... it seems he didn't shoot first in this version, doh! I'm assuming the versions we are watching are 'remastered'?

2018-09-24 14:32:40 +0000 UTCHi again TobiiZocktt! I've tried multiple versions of movies/shows in the past because of this request and most times this doesn't change the speed. I've noticed certain 'special' versions of discs sometimes run slower due to a higher frame rate playback... but honestly, I think it depends on what you are watching on (Bluray player vs computer) and what region you are from NTSC or PAL. PAL runs faster than NTSC and I won't unfortunately be able to change that. Sorry for your frustration! Some have told me they were able to speed up our videos by a small percentage with whatever program they were viewing with and that worked well. I compared the original DVD with the Bluray version we watched and they run at the exact speed when I recorded and compared them here. Hope this helps! I wish we all could watch the same frame rate! Thanks so much for being a fan a helping our channel!

Star Wars is huge and I've always known how much... but today, it still somehow surprises me on why we never got into it growing up (Kim and I)... my brothers are huge fans, but we never sat and watched together ever... hmm.. I am so happy I can finally watch this with Mom and Kim... all my brothers have seen Star Wars and are huge fans... it's so crazy that we've never indulged... Kim there is no surprise since she has always been an outdoors person always outside and helping others when she's not working... when I was a kid, she would NEVER watch TV unless it was SNL or the news... that was it! ... Actually, maybe In Living Color too. LOL! Mom and Kim have absolutely NO idea about Star Wars beyond this movie. Going to be sweet! Thanks again for your comment!! Hope you enjoyed our reactions!

So unless you go and get the unaltered fan version, mixed with the HD footage. Really that's a fun hobby thing, but I'd never expect reactors to go and torrent that whole version. Can't wait to get all set up and watch along :) And so rare to watch with people who haven't been following along with star wars lore much at all :D

It sparked my life-long love of science fiction and space fantasy. One day I hope to work for Lucasfilm in some capacity. Can't wait to watch the OT with you fine ladies.

I was like, there is no way this is the original. Jabba almost didn't look like he belonged in the scene next to Han. Less is more in most cases. Hope you still enjoy watching with us!! XD

I am looking at the boxset now and it doesn't specify anything besides the movie titles... they are Blurays, the special effects are a bit better with the ships and aliens... especially Jabba... but Han still shoots first! I'm assuming this is the 'remastered' version? Hope this helps!
