Dude, why the MAJOR comic spoiler? You should know they don’t want those!

Handsome_Man

You might already know by now but in the comics Ezekiel and Rosita's heads were on the pikes. So this whole episode had we comic fans stressing as to who was going to be killed. And they filmed it in a way that left it up in the air that it could be anyone. In the comic Rosita was pregnant about 7 months along or more and the baby was Eugene's because they got together after Abe's death. Which Abe got Dr.Denise's arrow through the eye death scene. Some people thought if you read the comics it would spoil the big surprises but it never did because they didn't film it in linear succession and they would change who did what or who it happened to. It actually made it more suspenseful because if you knew about a big scene from the comic you were still writing ur hands wondering how it was gonna play out. For example, in the comic Rick loses his hand way back at the prison fighting the Governor. And Jesus plays a HUGE roll in the comic and doesn't even get killed off. Carl is still alive, just a bunch of things.

Ish

I never caught on to that. That's cool.

Ish

Thank you so much for giving us a new way to watch these reactions. Downloading was getting so annoying.

Devin

i saw this information a while back but thought i would comment here cause its a cool little eater egg about the deaths: A- Addy R- Rodney T- Tammy O- Ozzy F- Frankie D- DJ E- Enid A- Alek T- Tara H- Henry “Art Of Death” is the theme in the background of the pike deaths.

RobTheBlob

Negan killed four people not two.(Olivia and Spencer) and he almost killed Carl. 😬

Nadine 🇨🇭

*second kid. Lizzie and Mika were not carol's children. She just took care of the two until they were safe.

Nadine 🇨🇭

This is TWD's Red Wedding essentially lol, it's been deemed the "Red Fair"

Jack's World

The barn scene is one of my absolute favorite scenes in the entire franchise from the score to the directing & the acting from each person in that barn. DJ came such a long way from when we first saw him to now giving his life along with the highway men to try and save their family, (whom the highway men JUST met too, which I feel says a lot about their character). Tammy Rose giving her life to protect Rodney as long as she could too KILLS ME!

Jack's World

One chilling Easter Egg from the first few episodes of this season is that Addy & Rodney were the 2 kids that walked out & witnessed Maggie hanging Gregory & they were both beheaded in this "Red Fair" :(

Jack's World

Even though it is sad. This one and Rick's blowing the bridge episode are my two favorite episodes of season 9.

Jenny Lee Villanueva

The fact that we were all expecting it would be Rosita and it was Tara instead. Enid is the one that hurts the most 😢

Kamanda Hickey

Yeah this episode was an absolute shocker. It really sticks out like the first Negan episode to me. Though, I'd rather deal with Negan than Alpha any day. He can at least be reasonable.

Julia Ashley

Me. I also went to watch Wandavision and I can't. So I checked out some older things I had watched and I cannot watch anything here. I am assuming Patreon is having problems?

Margaret

Happy 4th of July all! :)

Jessica Rocha

Yeh, I think it's almost more enjoyable to watch it when you know what happens in the comics because there's a LOT of tension, and teasing in this episode.

Tommy Thompson

Taking emotion out of it, The Walking Dead ACED this episode. Comic readers knew exactly what was coming, and I will not spoil how it goes down in the comics but it’s vastly different. The show perfects it with the score, the visuals, the reactions, everything, perfection. To put emotion back into it, FUCK YOU GIVE ME HENRY BACK.

Michael R

RIP DJ and the Highwaymen, former Saviour and the new people died trying to save the rest.

Jack Bristow

Can’t watch it again 😫… ok I did watch it! and the reaction was fantastic guys… sad but great.. also, with this episode, I always remember Carl because he’s the one that taught Enid how to fight/ use the knife and that’s the exact same way that she positioned her hands, like Carl told her to do. 🥹🥹😭😭 this was sad…

Nora

Such a powerful episode. Alpha just flexed, but the scary thing is, she could’ve done a LOT worse. So many shocking deaths here though. This really is such a fantastic storyline, it brings so much horror, dread, fear, uncertainty etc to the story. Alpha and The Whisperers are fantastic villains. Can we also just take a second to admire Bear McCreary’s score. It’s absolutely beautiful and that pike scene, it’s like classic Hollywood tragedy with how it underpins their reactions. Chef’s kiss!

Brad Tyler

Man I really thought was gonna be ready for this episode again, but holy was I wrong.

Luke Morrison

Also side note... my hubby declared "its gonna be sweater weather soon" as the new "winter is coming" hahaha

Angelina Sargent

Watching daryl console carol for the 2nd time after she finds her walker child... it was literally a repeat of them finding Sophia back in season 2. So sad. Not gonna lie though when I first watched this I thought that final head was gonna be Ezekiel because they tricked us with Jerry asking where he was before the movie and seeing carols face it could have been Ezekiel before we see Lydia running up to him behind the screen. I would way rather loose Henry than loose the king in my opinion. Henry could be annoying sometimes. Lol RIP Ozzy (who never got to watch his movie), Alek, DJ, Tammy Rose, Addy, Rodney, Frankie, Tara, Enid and Henry... but at least we still get Siddiq, whom I love because that story at the end was inspiring as fuck.

Angelina Sargent

I had to download it to watch it. Neither link worked for me either :-(

Dorinda Schaper

Enid hits the hardest for me. One of my favs... this ep still hits every single time i see it.

Emily

I've been waiting to see a crying fest, and I know it's going to be glorious

Jose Zamora Orellana

Suffice it to say Alpha truly left her mark here. Tara and Enid definitely hit hardest for me - Tara especially; for a character who was originally set up to be around only for those first 3 episodes way back in S4, to end up lasting another 5 Seasons beyond and become such a huge part of our group, and one of my favourites, really made me appreciate how far she came even more. I've missed her whacky personality ever since 🤜🤛 And of course Henry was the ultimate shocker - no less with having to see Carol relive that trauma once again... and much like with Sophia emerging from that barn, Daryl was there to hold her again 😔

Ryan Robert Walker

I do agree with you to some extent but shocking, unexpected deaths just make sense to me in this unpredictable world that is the apocalypse. My gripe with it is that Enid and Tara got hardly any screen time this season. Would've been nice to spend some more time with them before they got axed.. I actually like the inclusion of Henry because he was one of the few characters I was sure wouldn't end up on a pike. Hell of a misdirect.

Joshua Markham

That look on Carol's face. Just destroyed me even on a rewatch. Crazy episode.

David

Honestly, kinda one of my least favorite character deaths from the whole show. This show has had a reputation of killing off characters needlessly for shock value ever since like season 3 aired. And personally, I never bought that. I always felt like, narratively, most major deaths on the show served a purpose in one way or another. However, that changed with this episode. I think it was completely unnecessary to kill off Henry after they'd just spent more than half a season setting him up as an incredibly strong protagonist that could've carried the show alongside Daryl, Carol, Michonne, etc to its end. I get it, it really provided that heartbreaking final blow to us and proved just how horrible Alpha was, but there were other ways to do that. Tara, Enid and Tammy were sad enough, they could've tacked anyone else on at the end to really piss us off without robbing us of yet ANOTHER potential leading man/woman right after both Carl AND Rick. I think a better choice for the final spike (instead of Henry) would've been one of the new 5 that showed up to Alexandria. They were kind of the new fresh rebellious group that really piqued all our interests and turned out to be super lovable. Watching their journey and how they acted as a team this season was something else. So to see that synergy permanently broken in this episode definitely would've had a similar emotional impact that I believe would've been less detrimental to the series as a whole. That's just me, though.

Don't Take This Seriously

Yep. Negan only killed two. I'll give him that. Would've been only one. I'll give him that too. Alpha is savage...like really savage. How did Lydia grow up to be almost normal, is beyond me. Now we know their name; their horde is called Guardians, but the live ones call themeselves The Whisperers.

angie808

Carol 4th kid lost... that's broken most.

Lubomír Kytlica

So many major character deaths at once its crazy and Carols child track record continues.

James

Tara wasn´t my favorite this season but losing her was so shocking to me, she is one of the OG, I mean she entered in season 4, it was insane seeing her go like this especially with so little go the OG´s gone by now.

Bassorelli Chiara

Only episode that gets me teary eyed in this whole franchise. Sure, there are sadder scenes, but they’re more disturbing than sad. But this scene is horrific, and so sad

Jared Harms

I can’t view either link. Anyone have suggestions

Taylor144

Bit early on this comment

Ae Jae Meade

anyone else having trouble watching this one?

Parker_v

This is a truly harrowing episode, forever one of my favorites. I get chills every time I watch that pike scene. Probably the most shocking thing in this show since Negan's intro in 701.

Joshua Markham

Feels like Christmas to wake up to this :D

Sven Hudec

And this wasn't even the finale. How do you beat them when they have that hoarde? It's the zombie apocalypse equivalent of a nuclear bomb. I'm really looking forward to the next episode and the next season. I can't say why and give anything away. But man I love it!

Reverend Jim Jones

Been looking forward to this one for a while

Chris Reed

I was more nervous for this one than the Glenn/Abraham episode lol

k4rizz4

the walking dead done the whole winter is coming thing better than Game of Thrones with a much bigger impact lol. It hit hard watching this for the first time when it aired i didn't have the emotional response same as you guys i was excited because I was sure wed be due after all this, that the response from the survivors was gonna be of epic proportions.

Ecstatic

after the poll is done :)

I chuckled at Trin calling out how somehow the doctor survived for once. Losing Enid was the biggest punch for me, I really liked her.

Lee

😩😫

Alyssa Dyson

Trin, I know you call him "Jerry-boo." But I'd like to offer "Jerr-Bear" as an alternative. He's so bear-like and big and snuggly like a bear so my mind went straight to Jerr-Bear.

Maggie Barbour

oh shit, this is it.

Johann Miranda V.

Oooooh no, we're at this one... heads up 👀

Ryan Robert Walker

So excited to watch this one

Kallie Pampuch

Can you guys post the graphic of what’s expected for the month?

Quincy Burns

I was waiting but also not waiting for this one, here we go again 🥲

roncelune

Omg been waiting for this one, can’t wait to see your reactions!
