UPDATE 11/26: There was one other character I tried but didn't want to post until I got the OK from her creator. Swipe to the end to see her!
So another thing I did this week-a dangerous trip down the AI rabbit hole. A client of mine posted a piece on dA that they credited to an AI generator linked to the Microsoft search engine Bing. It was done in a traditional comic book style (black line art with colors filled in). This client has posted AI images for for awhile but has also continued to commission me as well, which I found interesting, and I really like the style of that piece. Since Bing is a fairly public and accessible resource, I decided to give it a try out of curiosity. despite my many misgivings about the use of AI generated imagery. Call it being open minded, or getting to know the enemy, or reading the terrain if you will, but it was an interesting experience to say the least.
There'll be more detail about my experience for the Legionnaires, and I may share those thoughts to all down the road, but in the meantime here's a few highlights of my playing around. I will say two things: (A) This is as addictive as hell and (B) I oddly came out the other end feeling a little better about my art and its place in the world. I'm super glad I don't rely on a major corporation or studio for my living, though.
I tried to base these in most cases on specific shots. Can you recognize these ladies? Which images do you like the best or find the most interesting?
(Ericka Samuels appears with the kind permission of her creator Boggs Chaucer.)
