Eyo! MC Gary in the house!
MC stands for Mister Coolguy btw. Mister Coolguy Gary, that's me!
As for the pic up top, I found that in my unsorted images. I was going to make a 4k set on that beach, but I think I may have gotten annoyed with too many crashes. Apparently a picture survived the ordeal.
You may have noticed a distinct lack of polls in the week. Got stuck with some dialogue I couldn't get quite right so I had to lock in on that. I think it turned out pretty good though, so that's nice.
Gonna start rendering in the coming week, so we'll finally have some fancy previews again. Woohoo. Also gotta make a 4k set, I think. And polls. Maybe tidy up some parts of the script.
Anyway, I hope this episode is quicker to make than the last one. I mean, it should be, there's way less complex scenes, fewer characters, no fight scenes. To be fair i cheat hard with fight scenes, but they still take a disproportionate amount of time to make for how little they show up in game.
But yeah, should be easier to make in general. The renders, that is.
As for the rest, well. It's always a challenge to balance building up for certain scenes, while also moving the story and other characters forward at the same time. This time I decided on both Grishla and Zavnessos getting big scenes, which means I have to try and build up both of them at the same time, making the balance that much more challenging.
I think that's what episode five did really well. The buttplug-portal was an extremely effective device in building towards the final scene, while not slowing down the rest of the plot. I'm just going to pat myself on the back for a moment... There. That felt nice.
Episode six, on the other hand, had so much else going on that it was quite lacking buildup-wise in comparison. Whether I'll manage to do better in episode seven, only time can tell, but it's at least something I'm keeping in mind.
I have a good idea of what the progressions should look like, but I might want to add a few small scenes in between the bigger ones. Just to keep that sense of progression towards a spicy payoff.
If the word 'progression' and 'payoff' had you thinking 'did this fucker just watch Brandon Sanderson's new Youtube lecture?', then yes. Guilty as charged. In fact, I already watched all the old ones a few years back as well, so it's mostly a refresher for me.
Now, if you don't know what I'm talking about, but you're interested in writing stuff. Well, I highly recommend watching those lectures. Good stuff. Though I can't personally watch videos that long without gaming at the same time, which may or may not impact my ability to retain knowledge.
Bah! Knowledge. Who needs it? All anyone actually needs is confidence, and a willingness to speak with authority! The sky is green! Grass is red! Water is octarine! Anyone who says otherwise is a traitor to the Senate of Pointy Ears!
Righto, I believe that was indeed all I had on my chest today.
Thank you kindly for all of your support, and I wish you plenty of payoff in the coming week!
