Today on set, I wanted a rewrite of the scene we were shooting, because it didn't fit with the characters or the flow of the current season of our show. I've been on this show a long time and the last thing we need is some sideways "plot twist" that disrespects both our viewers and the show itself. You, as the writer, refused the rewrite and the powers that be stood behind you. Now it's the end of the day and when you show up at my trailer, you're the last person I want to see. But you have something for me. You've taken it upon yourself to rewrite tomorrow's scenes, to fix the mess that was made today, and you've done a damn good job at it. Today was about politics, playing nice with the studio, but you get it. You understand that the viewers come first, and you're talented enough to play the game and make sure the quality of the show stays top-of-mind. You've impressed me, which isn't easy to do...
