We did not expect Askeladd's backstory here but we're so glad to have gotten it... he plays the long game and he plays it well. Tragic childhood's all around 😭His and Thorfinn's dynamic is so so interesting. Can't wait to see where this goes next. Thank you for being here and we hope you have a great weekend!

2025-09-06 20:16:57 +0000 UTCI think this episode confirms that Askeladd was honest when he asked Thors to lead him and his men back in episode 4. Here comes a man sailing from the west, showing this "beauty" that Askeladd describes all warriors lack. Also I have to agree with the shadowing on Askeladd's face being so good this episode. So menacing. One of those episodes where the directing absolutely pops off. The shot choices, perfect pacing imo with the cutting back and forth between backstory and present askeladd, and to top it all off the ost with the violins and guitar strumming during the key moments.
