It was corny how often they said feminism but I thought it was pretty realistic at the same time...like if they were real they would've just handled it like they did.

So how is this for a crazy set of coincidences? 1st. Last week's episode of 'The Flash' featured a reference to 'Doctor Who.' 2nd. Last week's episode of 'Legends of Tomorrow' had the Legends dealing with a 'Vampire' all whilst Rory spent a good portion of the episode reading Bram Stoker's 'Dracula.' 3rd. And to round it all off, last week's 'Doctor Who' Blind Wave Reaction (for those not on Early Access via Patreon) had the Crew watching an episode where The Doctor took on an Alien who drained people's blood in a hospital ran by a Hospital Director named 'Mr. B. Stoker'.

I say no because the message wasn't written very well. Flash tried really hard this episode but completely missed the mark of female empowerment given the decisions the girls made. Having those few extra lines like Eric said would have easily fixed this. #feminism was also thrown around very loosely. Really sad that the only good feminist talks were between Joanie and Joe, not even one of the main female cast members had that... Arrow's gun control episode was written well, despite what you believe, and both sides had strong points. Supergirl also targets politically charged subjects but they are always done well (best on CW imo). Flash kind of missed it for me.

The actions were fine but the constant #femenism made it cringey. They made the situations feel akward and didn't seems to fit the characters. I'm also not sure the writers know what they wanted to do with Jonnie. There could have been something interesting if she liked stripping which means doing something she love even if other don't approve but the writing on that was poor and inconsequential.

We still live in a society where men don’t get that no means no, where men don’t believe in boundaries, and where men still need sexual harassment refresher courses. They obviously still don’t get it. So yeah, maybe it needs to be shoved down our throats so that men will one day respect women and not objectify them.

It's ok guys if you dislike the episode, what made up for it was the drunk Barry. My point is this episode was a nuisance and nonessential.

As a female myself, I feel it is important to have episodes that focus on the female characters, but not in a way that makes it awkward to watch. It was really awakward when it was clear it was only written for feminism. You don’t see the male characters yelling #ManPower or something. They can make an episode like this for respect of the female characters without blatantly pushing an agenda. In a way it took away from the episode because I felt it was no longer about the great female characters but more about pushing a political agenda. I feel like if shows do this, then they need to use Wonder Woman as an example and just treat the characters like their own character instead of making it about a specific gender or demographic. Wonder Woman worked because it just promoted a strong well developed character who happened to be female. It wasn’t made unrealistically either as Wonder Woman is a powerful superhero with god like powers. Only one of those female characters in the Flash has powers and can’t even control it. It’s honestly moronic to go up against a metahuman without ANY backup or plan when none of them have powers. I

The problem is the #Girlpower feeling..... it cheapens what feminism is...what they did wasn't anything to do with feminism... Feminism is equal rights and respect under the law and in society...Feminism isn't putting on a mini skirt to fight crime.

The way to be a feminist show is to portray strong women with agency and depth of character, and to not act like that's special, or make a big deal out of it. The moment writers feel they have to tell an audience that their female character is strong, they show that, really, they haven't written a strong female character at all. If the writers do their job correctly, the audience shouldn't have to be told that a female character is strong. It should be obvious by the way she acts and talks. You know, like a normal human being would. I love The Flash, and I loved seeing Caitlyn/Frost, Iris, Felicity, and Cecile being badasses this episode. But I really didn't love seeing them talk about it, because they acted like one dimensional characters written solely to make the point that they aren't one dimensional. It was jarring, and difficult to watch.

I love Feminism and I'm all for empowering women. But when you force the message so much and do it all in one episode, instead of carrying out the theme of it throughout the show, it only tells me that they were trying to check off a box on their agenda because feminism is a trending issue. Where as a show like Game of Thrones does it well but letting the characters actions tell us the audience that this a theme about empowering women. Like Dany and her advisor lady talking about how all men must die and Dany responds with "Yes. But we are not men." It just flows better there and when we start seeing the transitions from Kings to Queens for the majority of the families, it's obvious the show runners are making a point about how women are badass, but they don't shove it in our face by constantly saying it to the camera. I also think it doesn't help when they kept saying "Hashtag" because, again it feels like the show is just trying to jump at something trendy for points rather than tell a good story.

I do agree that the girls needed to have back-up. Keller Frost in not wanting to kill, allowed herself to be hurt. And temptation was in play which Killer Frost could have lived up to her name. Plastic man, or Elongated man, or what ever he wants to call himself. After blowing a bullet out of his nose, I have no doubt could have handled the problem just fine. But because of what the men went through, it would have had to happen the next day.

As a feminist myself, I do have to say it felt a bit like this episode was going "You get it? Guys? Do you get it?" and really rubbing it in our faces. Like, sometimes less is more and if they were a bit more subtle I feel like it may have left a stronger impact. That and generally I hate the "girl" episode of a show because it feels like it does the opposite of what the intended message is 90% of the time, especially since it's also always a female villain that the female heroes fight against. It was a good episode but just a bit too on the nose, I feel.

I consider myself as a feminist and what it means is Equality, especially in good writing and action... I don't hate the characters but the message of #Feminism really minimized the main point that the show was probably trying to get at... I feel they could have taken a another route for expressing this message.

DeVoe just gained access to one of the metas thanks to the girls not going after him to make sure he's safe. So yeah... I think this was intended to be serious and it just came off as poor writing all over the place.

If you want to have a message like feminism, you have to be subtle about it. F*** that #Feminism bullshit. This episode could have worked really well if the scenarios were written a little better, make it to where the girls actually had the situation under control for the most part. Then at the end have the two sides retell what happened. Barry: So how was your night with the girls? Iris: Oh, we took down an underground meta-drug den. What about you? Barry: Uuuuuuuuh... Dipny got punched by a stripper and we got arrested...

I enjoyed the episode overall, but was a little put off by the sudden feminism push that seemed to completely come out of nowhere. If there had been an unintentional comment or action by the guys to make the ladies feel like they weren’t being viewed as equals, I might have been more likely to see them taking the feminism path more. A better scenario would have been if Gypsy had been with the girls as Cisco’s girlfriend just trying to spend time and get along with his friends. With her personality, I could see her saying there was no need to get the extra help from the guys and just leading the charge dragging the rest along with her. Overall, just repeating the #feminism versus just showing it did the episode more harm than good.

The "#feminism" tag was annoying. But what bothered me more was when Iris kept reinforcing "We got this", I took it as they didn't need to rely on Barry and the others to come and save them. But then why did she call Barry 17 times to come and save them? From what I saw, Iris and Felicity got knocked down, they were both held at gun point and both relied on Caitlin to save them. It didn't seem like they had the situation handled very well. Also, letting the bad guy go was just foolish.

This was simply a bad episode even ignoring all the pandering. They let an evil meta walk free, let a scared defenseless meta run away and get captured, Cisco had no energy this episode. The Flash didn't do ANYTHING in The Flash. Joe was totally fine this episode and I have no complaints there. I think Harry was the only positive part of the episode.

They pushed it too much, hearing #anything pissed me off but the fact that they kept saying it so damn much was just cartoonish. The "male gaze" bs was just daft too, men and women sexualise each other, fact of nature, why try to change it? Especially with her dancing in a strip club and the whole "did you order a stripper gag" before the most laughable meta human fight ive ever seen takes place, contradicting her male gaze spiel. However I could forgive all that, ALL Of it, if it weren't for that Doctor Who comment at the start, the fandom is mostly okay with th gender change, but I'm convinced that most of the shit people who weren't so keen got, the "you're misogynistic" "you just hate women" crowd, was coming from people like Ceciles daughter who've never seen the bloody show in their life! How can you be a fa. Of Whitteckers doctor yet!? Capaldis still in the role, she's had no screen time!

For me it was less to do with how much it was pushed and more to do with the quality of writing, which was subpar. As a femenisit it was embarrassing and cringe-worthy, and broke the cardinal rule of "show, don't tell."

Feminism has become a parody of its self. I’m all for man and woman being treated equally but feminists today at rallies, and on social media, just push that women are better than men and don’t need a man. Which destroys the whole idea of us working together. It’s really sad honestly that the Flash would take that route too.

My biggest gripe with this episode is the fact that in order to have the girls group up and be "strong independent women," they had to completely remove ALL of the guys from the equation. The point of having strong female characters is to have them prove their worth alongside the men, not in the absence of them. Also, more drunk Barry please.

I liked the episode ok over all. However they should have let the story flow organically to highlight they're strong women. Opposed to literally saying #feminism. If a story is told correctly you'll understand the theme is feministic without blatantly saying it every scene.

RE: dumb decisions. You have to remember that this show solidly established the characters as having single digit IQs in the first season. I'll trade multiple fempower episodes for writing out whatever air- or water-borne substance is making the denizens of Central City so darn stupid...

I don’t have a problem with a show occasionally having a feminist message, this one was just poorly done. They spent the whole episode trying make these women look empowered, only to have them make incredibly dumb decisions at the end. Why did they just let both metas go? Amunet is a crime lord, who knows their names and wants to kill them, and they just let her walk away. Why? They could have at least thrown her in the pipeline! The whole point of this season so far is to find the bus metas. Yet they just let The Weeper run away, knowing that he was going to be hunted down again and needed help. An episode focusing on feminism should make me gain more respect for the female characters, not make me think they are the dumbest characters on the show.
