Legend of Korra 2x14 Reaction Early Access!

Comments

I believe the Avatar State is Korra tapping into Raava's power and also THROUGH Ravaa, absorbing the skills of past Avatars. Now with that link to her past lives gone, she can still get a power boost from Raava, but no additional skills.

AlthosHol

This wasn't my favorite season of this series, but I do appreciate it for the fact that the creators/writers did expand on the Avatar lore as we came to know in the first series. I can't wait for you guys to start my favorite out of all four of the seasons of this show.

Of Butterflies and Books

:)

Gavin

Harmonic convergence is mainly what allowed Unavaatu and Korra to turn giant like that. In Korra’s case, she also had help from the tree of time, which was powered by harmonic convergence at the time, as well as her own inner spirit. Harmonic Convergence is basically a Sozin’s comet but for spiritual energy. So it amps up your power like crazy. Probably boosted Jinora’s power as well tbh.

Book! 33333333333333333333333333333333333

Seth Tolar

Book 3 is tha beeeeest

Julius Mäki

Next season is my favorite honestly.

MrBulldog714

I have a vague memory that what Eric said about the Avatar being strengthened by the power of their past selves is actually a real factor in the series. I feel like next season Korra's bending is weakened by the loss of her past lives, and because she is starting the avatar cycle over she is not as strong. I could be remembering it wrong as its been several years since I watched it, but I feel like something like that happens to her bending strength overall.

Lailonniel-EleneiRose

korra is the first avatar like wan was the frist avatar. she just can't call on their knowledge or aid any more. so when the next avatar is born after korra dies the next avatar will be able to access her

larsa valeth

SEASON 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Markeezy

their discussion about giant spirit korra was soo aggravating. two words: harmonic. convergence. there's so much spiritual energy surging that you'd have to assume that spiritually inclined people get like a 6000+ buff

Need 3 SUPER HYPE emojis inserted right here 👉. I cannot wait for next weeks reaction. I just think the storyline flows alot better than book 2. But once again it’s always enjoyable watching your reactions it made me appreciate this season.

Anonamai

You have to remember not only is Jenora the granddaughter of a spiritually strong Avatar but of a master healer. She inherited a powerful connection to the spirit world from the start, it seems. I think it's just naturally hereditary for her

Aaron: Oh! Remember this? Eric: Just like Aang! Aang had the same vision. Shane: Mario Kart. 😂

icymathratios

One of the many important things about Korra is that she is the last in the original line of Avatars as well as the first of the new line. I love that, though I am, of course, very sad about the lost connection. Also, Eska and Desna are fun comic-relief villains. I love a well-done deadpan performance so kudos to the actors of those two.

Matthew Vandiver

Season 3 is probably the best season of Avatar

Supernerd47

For the most part I liked season 2, but I always hated this finale. TO much asspulling.

I really liked season 3 it was better then season 2 for me but still not as good as 1

Skeletor

See, now when Calvin said Bolin can now get with Asami I don't have a camera I can look into to record my reaction. Dang it!

Matthew Rudolph

Well, the consequences of book 2 resonate through out the rest of the series.

Matthew Rudolph

I have to say, rewatching book 2 (which was my least fav) with you guys really increased how much i like it. The beginning is a bit slow but towards middle i began to enjoy it immensely

Noah Burke

It’s worth noting that during Harmonic Convergence spiritual energy is increased massively. That’s why Jinora was so powerful as she already had a deep connection with the spirits.

Alec Campo

I don't know. My "notification" is when I see last week's video show up on regular YouTube, then I know the new episode should be posted here. :D

Cory Stanish

Shit is about to reach a new level of badassery.

Someone HALP plzzz. I don't get notifications when Korra gets posted. How can I change this?

Unique

season 3 hype!!!!!!

Whim

Here comes season 3!

KingKoopa11

Buckle up, guys. You're in for some crazy biz going forward. I remember there was so much hate for this because of the Lion Turtles, and how they were involved with bending. The season was fine, my personal fave... is a toss up between 3 and 4,

Jasmine King

What theory do you need about Giant Korra? It's just her tapping into her own spiritual energy and being powered up by Harmonic Convergence, which doubles the power.

MRBS

wow Korra connected with some Cosmic Energy on the Harmonic Conversion. she woke as fuck lol

Kris

I have my own little theory about giant korra. If you remember the Wan flashback, every time a spirit takes over a person they are physically changed permanently. If the same rules apply to Ravva, there is no physical change but a spiritual change. All avatars are permanently strengthened spiritually by hosting Ravva.

Andrew

Jinora is a prodigy to air and spirit aang was a master spirit but a prodigy airbender, in terms of azula to fire is jinora to spirit.... Avatar lives for a long time in the past kyoshi was 200 when she died so maybe not as many avatars as you think... Korra was never not the avatar she still the rebirth of aang spirit rava just finds them she doesnt choose them

Phonic Reassignment

When Korra was meditating in the Tree of Time, she used it's connection with the cosmic energy of the universe to tap into that energy herself, similar to how the Avatar state does, which is what allowed her to bend her own energy and create the giant avatar of her own spirit. The Tree of Time was basically a stand-in for Raava for tapping into the cosmic energies. It goes back to Guru Pathik teaching Aang to open his chakras to access the Avatar state. When opening the seventh chakra, Aang was able to access the vast cosmic energy of the universe. It's all connected.

GarikLoran

Korra's villains are pretty much all excellent, hands down. My favourite is probably Book 4's, but agreed, 3 is a great one.

Dale Denton

In terms of Jinora's abilities, one must keep in mind that more so than any of the other grandchildren, Tenzin, and even Korra herself, Jinora is the most like Aang.

Dale Denton

In the past, humans were forced onto the backs of the Lion Turtles by the spirits, but only because they didn't live in harmony with them. The Air Nomads were able to walk in the Spirit Wilds unharmed, because they were at peace with nature. Now, the rest of the world needs to figure out how to coexist with the spirits.

Jude Miller

Nothing quite like an episode of Avatar to get the emotions going. Books 3 and 4 are where things get serious and real, and there WILL be consequences.

Dale Denton

Oh you guys will love Book 3. Trust me!

RealmOfDawn

Looking forward to the next book. I feel it's the best out of the four.

That is just headcanon. Consensus or not. Which I don't think there is.

I'd love everything about this episode if it wasn't for the major rule breaking day did in this episode

Can't wait for next book

Andrew Reise

I've always felt that Korra losing her connection to the past Avatars was the shows way of telling the viewer that they're done with the past. That it's time to move on and look to the future.

Mustache_Guy

Dude Shane rly hates the twins..xD Love this... prepare for the best season of Korra!

Vasiliu Vlad

I'm pretty sure Roku in season 2 episode 1 of Avatar the Last Airbender, said that the Avatar State allows the current avatar to tap into the past Avatar's skills, allowing the current one to do amazing feats that the last avatars have learned when they were alive. That's why Aang was able to create that giant tornado of water in the first episode despite never learning how to actually waterbend.

Gezno

Love this season it’s my second favorite for Korra but I will admit that season 3 has the best villain hands down

Kito Brown

Season 3 has by far one of the best villain in my opinion

Book 3 is hands down my favorite season!

Gezno

I think the general consensus of the fanbase is that Jinora went back and got the teapot in which Raava was stored at one point. Iroh did say that you could practically "taste" her light with every cup. But I can admit that wasn't seeded properly in the story. The giant Korra, eh, IDK, it never really bothered me and I think someone in this thread explained it pretty well. I will accept anyone saying that they are deus ex machinas tho but to be fair, they aren't as jarring as the lion turtle from Aangs book three. At least not to me. This book is definitely the worst out of Korra's series but it has great moments and some of the best episodes among them (Wan). Can't wait for Book 3! It's my favorite book!

oooooo you guys are gonna love book 3!! i can't wait :D

BeeIsBetter

the season finale may have jumped the shark a liiiittle bit, but I wouldn't say it's completely without value. I think it at least paved the path for what would become an ultimately much stronger series.

Zane

I miss season one

I agree. Soo many dues ex machinas in one episode....smh. This episode kinda just ruined my opinion of season 2 as a whole

Brandon Elie

this finale was a joke. None of it made sense, Ginora had to save Korra? With what? how? Korra beat Vaatu with just her higher being? But Vaatu beat Korra with all of her past lives? It doesn't make sense in the slightest.

Roy Lohman

Yes everyone was essentially taking advantage of the fact that Harmonic Convergence was amping up the spiritual power. It’s why they had to rush back before it was done for Korra and Raava to fuse, it’s something that would’ve been impossible to do outside of that. As was all the other feats accomplished during this time.

The Avatar state is the power of Raava. Which allows the wielder to use all four elements and hold unimaginable power. The reason it was a defense mechanism to Aang was because Aang didn't knew how to use it and master it until he grew up. The connection is broken but the sports has always been the same, they all are one spirit one person, they just had the ability to connect with their past lives, their past selves. But it's not like Aang is different from Rooku, and Kyoshi, etc... They are all the same spirit, one person who keeps reincarnating.

Now I MUST pledge for full length next week. *DOES CALVIN'S SCREAM*

Are you pledged 10$?

Anyone else having trouble finding the full length?

Sunny Morgans

Not sure if this was confirmed or not, but I always felt that what Korra did was a mix of her own spirit, Harmonic Convergence, and the tree of time all being used to let Korra harness cosmic energy and empower her giant spirit form.

Jjop017

It's finally over! Time to return to better quality next book!

Jonathan Azares

The giant fight is just as ridiculous as I remember lol

007

Yes! Book 3 hype!

you guys are gonna love book 3 it is better than the 2 books before!!

Rahul Attray

And now onto an amazing season.

Pheonix

Aang was not a good advisor anyways.

I agree. I think Avatar Spirit was the combined souls/spirits of Raava and Wan and the Avatar State was their unified power. As each Avatar passed away their knowledge and energy were added to the Avatar Spirit, making it stronger with each Avatar, which fits with what Roku said in the original series. It can’t just be Raava alone IMO, because that defeats the purpose of the message that the Avatar is special because of both human and spirit. Vaatu underestimating that and thinking only Raava was important was why he lost to Wan before and Korra this time.

Jjop017

I think the Avatar spirit its own spirit thats different from Ravaa, I mean there's clearly a difference between Ravaa just being inside a human(wan) and the human spirit and Ravaa spirit actually fusing using the harmonic convergence. If that isn't the case then, why the need for Harmonic convergence. So the Avatar state isn't really Ravaa taking control. I see it more as how Gogeta and Vegito from DBZ function, they behave as their own individuals though having traits from both Vegeta and Goku

Burooj Ahanger

Yes but Korra wont have Aang's experiences, memories, and abilities to pull from

Burooj Ahanger

Are you ready boys because next week korra is about to amp up the amazing ness
