Ugh, these past weeks have been absolute hell. You won't believe the shit luck I've been having.
First, my CPU died. Just... died. Then, as if that wasn't enough, the motherboard decided to join in. I had to buy new ones, which was not in my budget, let me tell you.
But wait, it gets better! Just when I thought I was back on track, my monitor decided it was time for a vacation. 😑🔫Seriously, one day after fixing everything else! I'm stuck using this ancient monitor now, and it's driving me insane. Everything's huge, I'm constantly resizing windows, and I can barely see what I'm working on. Samsung says they'll replace it in 1-2 weeks, but who knows?
The only silver lining in this mess is that I can finally use all 128GB of RAM. My old motherboard had some stupid factory defect that limited me to 64GB. So... yay for small victories, I guess? 🥳🎉
Oh, and because apparently, I hadn't suffered enough, I lost a ton of Photoshop Actions I forgot to back up. Half were old but super useful, the others were new ones I was using all the time. At least I wrote down the steps in my QoriApp, so I can remake them. Just have to remember all the damn configurations and shortcuts for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Daz3D.
Now, before you all start worrying, the game files are safe. They're on a separate SSD, and all the assets are on another HDD. So Hard to Love is still very much alive and kicking.💞💖
Speaking of which, I had just finished rendering Madison's scene when all this crap hit the fan. Now I'm back to work, rendering Elizabeth's scene. And guess what? Elizabeth won the poll both here and on the other platform! So looks like our next chapter will be focusing on her. 💃
I've got another question for you all, though. I'm torn about the outcomes in the upcoming update - you know, the scenes with Madison, Elizabeth, Amber, and Isabella. Should I make them mutually exclusive, or let you guys choose to see them all if you want? They've got some character backstory, but it's not crucial to the main plot. More like... fanservice with a sprinkle of story. What do you think?
Anyway, I lost over a week of work because of all this PC drama. It's been... rough. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, but it's not easy.
I don't have any new finished renders (with post production) to show you yet - sorry about that. But I did upload a stupid photo of myself. Maybe it'll make you laugh. Hate my fingernails. 💅

I don't think it should be mutually exclusive, if someone doesn't want to see a scene or wants to focus on specific girls then they can do that, but I'm a harem supporter so my bias is pretty clear if I'm being honest. Upping for support for the channel in order to help out, hope everything works out now that hopefully the technical problems are being resolved, slowly as it might be :D

Afterwards I like what you did at the end of the previous episode. Where one of the last choices with Nanami and Madison gives us the choice between increasing a stat of Nanami or one of Madison without changing the rest of the scene too much, but which may have an impact later on in other scenes. Maybe more choices like that would frustrate fewer people? For example in the choice of the 4 girls, the later we see her in the day, the less stats we gain during the scene and maybe we even lose a little with the last girl chosen. That way we can see all the scenes but the order has an impact. But it may be hard to do, I don't realize.

As for your question, while I want to see all the scenes, I think it's better to have some of them mutually exclusive. This choice between scenes shouldn't block a harem run (if you plan on allowing a harem run, maybe you don't want that in your game), but I think it's important that the player has a real choice between paths. I'm tired of visual novel games where you can see all the scenes in one run and then everyone ends up on the same path and the choices aren't really choices. Who's going to say no when the game basically asks "Do you want to see the content or not?" Maybe you can make these scenes partially exclusive? For example, it's the end of the day and the MC only has time to see two girls, not all four?
