Ep4 Vigilante

Just rewatched it. We understand a bit better:)

Comments

just imagine it was a guy that wasn't conventionally attractive committing these crimes, everyone would label him negatively. so far no one knows that there are two vigilantes so everyone is seeing the killings as done by one vigilante and yet ppl are supporting him talk less if he was an attractive vigilante.

This is even more prevalent in todays media, not to the extent of murder but watching many Korean celebs commit heinous crimes but still having a good amount of support in the end… that’s what would happen in this vigilante scenario, he would get tons of fans. I think this was a wonderful plot in the show.

yea terminator cop is basically telling jiyong that he knows he’s vigilante but he’s willing to let it slide if he stops now. he doesn’t want the public to find out it’s him bc he fits all the criteria he mentioned (young, handsome, good job and reputation) he knows the public would side with him even more if his identity was revealed… basically he wants him out the way so he can find someone he deems to be a “loser” that he could frame as the vigilante so the public would condemn his actions… the cop is just in denial and obsessed with trying to prove that the justice system is not rotten and that someone like vigilante isn’t needed

Can you react to bad and crazy

Tay

terminator dude reminds me of don lee with the way he smacks the shit out of people

It’s wild terminator cop gets irritated by the vigilante, but yet, he’s pretty much doing the same thing by throwing his weight and strength around. He thinks he’s more righteous just because he hasn’t put anyone in the hospital up until this point. The vigilante is a threat and terrifying to criminals. But this terminator cop is just as intimidating, seen as a threat and is terrifying by being about beating down any and everyone in his path. Terminator cop is pretty much a hypocrite.

Of course, but the U.S is nothing compared to Asia at least in this case Korea.

I don’t think it’s only Asians that do it tho. There are some weird people in this world that were obsessed with Ted bundy coz he was good looking even tho he’s a complete psycho. It’s just psychology because we have predisposition bias of the characteristics that good looking people should have. So even if they’re the worst we still try to justify their action. Ofcourse there’s always individual differences

Oh ok thanks

I think they rewatched the third episode? I’m not sure tho

Cam

A rewatch?

Basically, he's saying, if the Vigilante turns out to be a young and handsome police officer with good standing, it looks bad on the justice system and the police. The public will try justify his actions by saying there must be something wrong with our justice system for this young handsome police officer to take these actions. Which may result in more people taking actions into their own hands. Plus the media constantly keep running the story about the Vigilante. Verses, if it was a unappealing criminal doing the crimes. It just looks like a psycho trying to justify his actions and murder. Causing the public and media to lose interest in the Vigilante.

Yes, and that's why in the conversation with the professor the detective is saying something like he wants to create a fake vigilante instead of revealing the real one, one that people would never support so all this thing can end.

Sonia

The ending of this episode was too exciting. Both of them know that the other knows, and Jiyong still being confident in this situation. Makes you think back to the scene when the cop said he knew that random dude they caught wasn’t vigilante because the real vigilante wouldn’t show a scared expression when caught. That exactly happened here And how the detective chasing after the vigilante said if the public found out about him being young, a decent person with a decent job, and good-looking they would go wild. We all know how weirdly obsessive most Asian countries are over just overall image even when they don’t know the person…especially looks. So if his identity were to ever get revealed, u would have people becoming fans of him just simply because of his looks without knowing anything of why he may be doing what he does. Or becoming fans/supporting him just because he seems to be a decent person and with him being a cop u can def see the “a cop wouldn’t do that” type of excuse which would cause more support.
