SPOILERS - Reboot Plans for the Girls, Plus Their Skill Trees
Added 2022-07-12 09:52:46 +0000 UTCIn the reboot, GM will have a full on skill tree for his developing powers. Initially, I thought about giving the girls skill-trees as well that he could invest in, but given how much trouble I am having setting up the GM’s skill tree, the thought of doing that for all the girls became unrealistic. Not to mention I feel like it would cheapen the story and take away from the development aspect of the series if GM can just put points into Sam getting a 10% buff when using great blades. Therefore, I’ve decided on a compromise.
Girls will have a simplified ability system, where each girl is granted four abilities that GM can spend points to unlock after reaching certain milestones in their relationship. Each girl only has four abilities, thus it won’t take away too much from them needing to get better on their own. Plus if the series goes on as long as I have in mind, I have the option to pull out a second tier way down the line.
Breakdown of the four abilities
- A bread and butter skill that is a fixture to each girl’s combat style or their job within the guild.
- A passive skill which helps them on a personal level or in the case of support characters helps those around them.
- A hard hitting skill on some sort of cooldown. Probably a transformation rather than a huge attack, since I’d rather them work to learn big attacks.
- A capstone ability, something overpowered to show that a girl’s bond with GM has maxed out.
Unlike the powers granted by GM’s own abilities, these are not related to each girl’s desires. His power to develop his lovers essentially brings out their talents and potential and solidifies them into abilities that can be used.
Conditions for Gaining Skill Points
Some of these would be granted retroactively. Girls aren’t added to IntiMate until they’ve had sex with him, so if they had their first kiss before that, he’d get two once they’re added- one for sex and one for the first kiss.
First time having sex
First kiss
First date
First ‘I love you’
Reaching 100% Devotion
Reach 5 total lovers
Reach 10 total lovers
Get married (one point for each girl)
Suggestions are welcome for more milestones.
From this point in the document, I am going to get into some of the changes the girls will see as well as explaining my plan for their four abilities. This will be extremely spoiler heavy, including for things that never got revealed in the original Webnovel version. If you want to avoid spoilers, then do not read past this point.
I wanted to have all 4 skills for each girl figured out before posting, but decided against it since it’s not pressing at the moment.
Sam
The nature of Sam’s blood problem is going to be changed, as is her attitude when she’s affected. It’s no longer pure anger, now it’s a prideful wrath. The reason for this is due to her ancestry. She has Demon blood, and it is stronger in some Lundreames than others. To get into specifics, the first King of Karnalle had six known wives who became the founders of the Ducal houses, and a seventh secret one whose descendents ruled the throne. She was the daughter of the original Demon Lord, Orsovis. The Demon Lords have a seven deadly sins theme, and his was pride. Therefore, Sam’s anger is now focused more on being disrespected, looked down on, underestimated, and comes from a place of feeling superior than everyone else. She no longer has to focus on learning to control her wrath, but her ego. Her having Demon blood was always the plan, but the fact that it came from Orsovis was not. Given how I was just making shit up early on and not laying the groundwork, the anger was something leftover that didn’t fit my newly planned lore.
Stoke Ego
Sam can purposefully choose to increase the level of her pride at any time, even when already enraged. It acts like a big steroid injection allowing her to fight at many times her ordinary strength, but obviously there’s control over it in the beginning and her pride borders on psychopathy.
Prideful Flames
When filled with ego, Sam can add a corresponding fire to her attacks- whether they be from her sword, fists, or feet. The flame is scarlet in color and burns hotter than ordinary flames, recognizable to those in the know as standard Demon fire. Does not hurt her or burn her clothes/armor, but can spread and harm teammates. As these flames are fueled by pride, they are stubborn and difficult to snuff.
Blood Purity
A transformation where Sam can increase the purity of her Demon blood. Will require lots of training to gain any measure of control over this ability, and would need to be tackled in percentages. Each subsequent form would see her gaining more physical demonic traits drawing directly from her ancestor Orsovis, the first Demon Lord.
Unparalleled
Achieved only when Sam’s control over her ego and pride is fully developed. When active, Sam enters a self-hypnotized state where she not only believes she is above all others, but treats it as an immutable fact of the universe. Her aura of confidence can suffocate weaker foes and force them into unconsciousness simply by looking at them, while stronger enemies will be momentarily staggered and find their thoughts distracted by Sam’s mere presence. The downside is that it affects her teammates as well.
Zutiria
Zutiria will open up about a lot more of the specifics regarding what happened to her in her past, likely in her debut volume. There will still be a sense of mystery, and a lot of unanswered questions, but I’m not going to have it be a huge secretive thing like I used to. The basic gist of it is that she lived on a coastal town in the Tior province, was an unheard of magical prodigy from a young age, but she had many imaginary friends that did not have the best intentions. They taught her secrets and amplified her power, telling Zutiria if she works harder than they could be together for real. When she turned eight, she performed the ritual and spoke the words, and then horrors used her throat as a portal and destroyed her entire village. That’s why she is afraid of speaking, and this context is important for her abilities.
As far as changes go, Zutiria will be getting a massive nerf and a refocus on her spells. I presented her as a genius who thinks they’re probably the strongest Mage in Karnalle from the get-go, and she theoretically knew endless spells. Now it’s different. She’s only ever dabbled in the years since and didn’t fill the time with reading spellbooks, and a lot of the things she learned as a child were either buried intentionally in her memory or rusty. She’ll start with basic Mage capabilities and know most basic spells, but her affinity towards darkness magic will be more apparent at the start. Those sorts of spells were harder to forget for obvious reasons, but she’ll have a greater reluctance toward using them. Her introduction will be greatly expanded from the original, with an entire week or more of getting to know her and so on before anything sexual happens. In other words she’ll get a full introduction arc.
Crawling Madness
Zutiria can create small portals where inky black tentacles manifest out of. They inflict panic and anxiety in any who they touch, and it will take Zutiria a long time to move past the terror she feels from the sight of this power.
Whispers in the Dark
A passive buff to the power of voiceless incantations when using darkness spells.
Forbidden Insight
Zutiria is swallowed by darkness coming out of her mouth, and it forms a ball around her. When she emerges she is a vessel for the horrors of the void, her outfit changed to something akin to a sexy cultist, her skin becoming an unnatural shade, and there are glowing scripts tattooed across her body. Her staff transforms into a book that can channel the power of different entities. The book changes appearance based on whatever entity she is currently channeling. There are five such entities. Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Hastur, Yog-Sothoth, with her ‘ultimate’ being Azathoth. Examples include for Cthulhu it would be a sopping wet book with seaweed and brine pouring out of it, for Nyarlathotep it would be covered in wriggling tentacles of darkness, and so on.
Unspeakable Familiars
Once Zutiria has risen above her trauma and accepted that her body is tainted by the void, she will gain not only greater control over her Insight form but will be able to draw the entities themselves into Karnalle in limited forms and actually bend them to her will. Of course, this is something she’ll have to grow into, and these entities seek to abuse and harm her initially and she’ll have to wrangle them into obedience. The entities would be essentially mascot character versions of themselves, but even reduced into Zutiria’s familiars they would hold unimaginable powers. They are the same five entities as noted before.
Meri
Meri won’t undergo major changes like Sam and Zutiria, but I will be adjusting things and amplifying what is already there. Meri’s original intro arc was mainly comedic, what with her reading the books and all that, and while we’ll still get there I want to play around with this new status quo. The new Demon Lord attacked her village and killed her mother as we all know, and in the reboot, GM has demon powers. Meri is at her lowest point and is forced out of Perlshaw and gets transferred to a Guild rife with demonic influence, and she hates it. She doesn’t trust the GM, and it isn’t just because he’s scary looking. She’s just a simple country girl, so she’s already somewhat prejudiced against Demons even before what happened to her. Her arc will see her growing more comfortable with GM and everything happening at the Guild and accepting that not all Demons are bad, but a desire for revenge will still be in her heart and she’ll come to accept this part of herself, too. Other than that the changes she’d see is just having way more lore about Shield Maidens from the get go, and establishing how her shield’s crystal works.
Anchor
An expanded version of the cleats Meri got in the original. I just thought it’d be more interesting as an ability. Her shield would create a circular area on the ground that she can’t be knocked away from, and it can be used on allies as well if they’re in the circle or by throwing her shield toward them.
Take Me Instead
Passive ability that lessens the damage Meri takes when getting in the way of attacks meant for one of her teammates.
Press Forward Form
Meri’s armor becomes form-fitting and lighter, giving her a huge increase in speed. Any movement and momentum based arts such as Quick Step and Shield Bash see a large boost in their potency. While Meri won’t ever be the fastest party member, this form makes her a surprising threat who can unleash an onslaught or position herself exactly where she needs to be to stop an attack.
Endless Shields
Meri can spawn glowing magic shields anywhere in her field of vision, ranging in size from small to full on force fields. Every attack they block gives her a boost of kinetic energy stored in her gem, allowing for a gigantic Counter. Automatically blocks and reflects magic and projectiles, or use absorb them, transfer to another shield and shoot them out like a portal.
Gwin
Given that I’m redoing the conflict GM has with the criminal element of Dewhurst to simplify it, I no longer plan to include Gwin’s clan refusing GM business. This means that she can hang around a lot more and potentially have more lewdness much earlier. We will have to see how the plot ends up progressing, but I am open to her having her own arc much sooner than I planned- potentially right before the Maid arc. This would recycle a lot of my plans I originally had for her arc, so it’d really just be shuffling around what I already have figured out. Nothing about Gwin’s arc needs changing, and by moving it there I’d fill the empty void where in the old version GM confronted Lux Ultima which is now removed.
Inspiration
A randomized ability that activates on its own from time to time, giving Gwin outlandish ideas for things to build.
Perfect Polish
Any upkeep Gwin performs on weapons or armor causes them to remain in better shape for a week afterward.
True Grit
A transformation of sorts which puts Gwin into a zenlike state of productivity, allowing her to work at a greater speed and without error like a flawless robot. Her body temperature gets really high and she gets sweaty.

Cherry and Peri
First of all, I’m going to be planning out how the entire adoption thing works out to make it less slave-sounding. I know lots of stories in this genre touch on that, and I don’t mind that, but I think what was in my head did not match what I actually wrote so I’ll be working on it and making it make more sense. This will include establishing more lore of the Beastfolk Homerealm of Besthal, as well as potentially making the Breeding Tribe more of an industry that profits from selling full-time employees who the buyer is still expected to pay a living wage, only with part of their salaries going toward the Tribe to cover the cost of raising them for 18 years. Something like that. They could call it ‘adopting’ and the store called the ‘Besthal Pet Shop’ because humans get off on that and it sounds better than the ‘Besthal Employment Agency.’ GM’s reward for saving all of the girls during the arc could be erasing Peri, Cherry and Snow’s debt to the Tribe thus allowing them to work for him for free because they love him.
Moving onto what will change about the actual girls, I will be adding depth. In the original, I was very vague about what happened in their past. I want more concrete examples of the bad things that happened to them that led to them continually getting returned. Furthermore, I want to slow the arc down a bit and allow time for Peri to start speaking for herself rather than highlighting the friction between the two at the start. Also, I want the roll-out of Peri’s questionable mental state to be slower as well. He’ll still smell amazing to beastfolk women, but I don’t want to play it as over the top as I originally did. Cherry will also be known more for using violence, I think, including multiple attacks on the GM that he doesn’t back away from, and we might see her catnip habit in action in a moment of vulnerability.
After their arc, though, I have some things I want to change about their role in the story. Because the rebooted GM is more arrogant and confident, I want them to eventually settle into the role of both his personal sword and shield as well as his arm candy. He doesn’t treat them like pets, but he brings them to negotiations and they make him look more important- and Cherry can be surprisingly threatening when she wants to be. They’ll become his bodyguards and they escort him everywhere unless ordered not to. They will train in the yard alongside the other girls, potentially even helping on quests occasionally. There were a number of people who commented on the original RotGM feeling it was weird GM didn’t have a way to defend himself, which led to me giving him a gun. I didn’t like that, so instead, Cherry and Peri are now his self-defense.
Beck and Call (Both)
By snapping his fingers, the GM is able to summon the two maids from anywhere at all to attend to his needs. When summoned, both girls are granted a momentary buff.
Get Shit Done (Cherry)
Cherry can hype herself up to finish up tasks in a fevered pitch, although it puts her in a hissy mood and she doesn’t like to be interrupted and once it’s done, it leaves her cranky and wanting to be alone.
Chef’s Kiss (Peri)
Passive ability which makes food prepared by Peri helps encourage healing, growth, and it puts others in a good mood.
Beast Refinement (Both)
Something that didn’t come up in the story yet is that Beastfolk have a furry form they can achieve after grueling training. It essentially awakens their ancestral roots, making them more feral and animalistic. This skill will only be unlockable once Peri and Cherry have mastered the ordinary version, and they each get a form that plays to their personal strengths.
Cherry’s refinement makes her exceedingly fast, gives her exaggerated claws, and increases her strength. Peri’s gives her increased control over her fur in a number of ways, allowing her to harden it, grow it out like an inflatable shield, or to shed it as a defensive shroud.

Snow
Snowball is a character that evolved as I wrote her. Her actions early in the arc don’t match what she becomes, so I’ll have her be much more consistent. Now that I have a femdom-oriented containment side series in Rise of the Guild Master, I will not push that angle nearly as hard as I originally did. This isn’t me backing down to the people who thought Snow was too femdom heavy- she still will be- but it’s more that it doesn’t fit the new direction where GM is obsessive about having power and women. Therefore, I will lessen it and make it extremely obvious that he is #1.
Her involvement in the arc will be dramatically increased. Given that her personality will be on display much sooner, I think that the conflict is that she can tell GM is a slimeball almost as soon as she sees him. She hates setting up shop in Dewhurst because of how shitty the clientele are, but corporate makes her. She assumes GM is the same as all the others but after he takes an interest in Cherry and Peri specifically, her interest is piqued. Snow’s ultimatum will be proposed more as a game to amuse herself and see if GM can win over both girls within the trial run. They’ll have magic collars that detect sexual harrassment or abuse, and he isn’t allowed to touch them. Snow will check in almost every day, giving her a lot more time to interact with the GM and for their romance to take center stage as well. She expects Cherry to put him through the wringer like all the rest, but the continual growth will amaze her and her interest in the GM will rise considerably.
At Your Service
A stronger form of Beck and Call reflecting Snow’s position as mistress of the Guild. On top of being able to be summoned by the GM, Snow can also warp to any part of the Guild of her own volition, saving her time when performing her duties and allowing her to assist with any task.
2
Snow no longer needs to sleep longer than two hours a day, helping her always be up to something or other.
Beast Refinement
Snow’s heightened transformation increases her height by a foot and makes her tail obscenely long- ten feet or more. Similar to Peri it gives Snow advanced control of the fur, although fittingly Snow’s version is a perfect mix of offense and defense. This power bolsters the way she typically fights by using tail related Arts, making her almost something of a whip master.
