This insidious & interconnected system of SYSTEMATIC EXCLUSION & SABOTAGE that the Western music industry has carefully & strategically crafted to work against BTS is a disgraceful and reprehensible display of discrimination and narrow-mindedness. IT LITERALLY MAKES US SICK 🤢
It not only robs BTS of the recognition and opportunities they deserve, but also deprives music lovers everywhere of the chance to experience music that will SAVE THEM.

At some point in the video, Jordan suddenly stopped and had some epiphany about how important you are to the fandom, in buying albums, going to concerts, etc, and your biggest power to me comes from exposing the so-called general public to BTS. I had to CLAP when I heard that because I don't know if you had realized before how meaningful it is for two young males with diverse musical tastes to stumble upon BTS and get hooked like you did. You are the proof that Army is educated and smart, that it is composed of people from different backgrounds, nationalities, races, genders, sexualities, age etc., and not the group of "mindless" 15-year-old girls they want to pretend we are, and overall, that we are not just here for the pretty faces. I think others have expressed their thoughts and everything that came up for me in this comment section perfectly, so the only thing I'll add is that as professional reactors😄, you should never react to MVs within the first 24 hours at least so as to not "steal" views from the official videos. We just want to avoid people watching the MV with you for the first time because that would be hundreds (thousands?) of views that would be lost if we individually watched the MVs from our accounts before we watched it with you. Not that you do that, but just in case!

I remember 8-tracks and Beta tapes for VCRs; my remote control only had 2 buttons (channel and volume which toggled left and right for decrease and increase) - rabbit ears and all with a hanger on one of them for better reception (or a kid standing there holding it)😂😂😂. 2023-05-20 00:45:25 +0000 UTCI honestly can't think about how corrupt the music industry is for too long without getting upset, because it makes me so angry how much BTS's hard work is discredited, and the erasure of army's support by deeming us 'bots'. all I can say is that I hope bts knows that no matter what the charts and view counts say, they have a literal army of people behind them through everything, and that they are adored by an unfathomable amount of people.

I'd become numb to these tactics against them and precautions that we have to take to the the point that it's "normal". I was almost surprised that you were suprised lol. For example, I know to skip songs every now and then to avoid "bot behavior" (🙄) and switch Spotify accts to ensure more streams get counted. Years ago, I had no clue. But now I know that in order to level the playing field for BTS and to help them get their recognition, these are things we must do. At the end of the day, I love their music so buying & listen is no problem, but why does the industry have make everything so complicated. We know why, but it's such a sad thing to witness.

Even unto myself, someone who has always listened to alternative music genres or non-mainstream since my youth. I'd still believe that the 'charts' value higher somehow due to 'general public' popularity of their artists, when clearly a) being on the charts doesn't mean you're popular and b) what true value the organic fandom has! The industry has failed to nurture an environment for natural growth and now they are scrambling because BTS and Army challenge all of that!

Watched the movie “Chevalier” and much of the film mirrored BTS’s dilemma without even trying. We know you’re quality artists but stay in your little box. Rub shoulders with us but we have to protect our reputation. You’re the wrong kind to stand up for. It’s disgusting. It’s so funny how they won artist of the year at AMAs and iheart consistently gets votes for group of the year but no radio spins from the industry. I understand Big Hit has to waver radio stations to play their tracks and then payola which they do not participate so that creates an automatic “block”. But something’s gotta give! The stations are missing out on an opportunity, can you fathom if Army could trust radio how we’d change radio culture? Radio could make a comeback if they would let ARMY in, imagine that! BTS is not a one hit wonder and every year the public thinks its the last year..then Bangtan one ups themselves. The way they handle it with all the injustice is the most commendable. 2023-05-04 15:25:08 +0000 UTCEvery Boracity video you watch will make you upset simply because she exposes in detail how unfair the industry is with BTS, how they like to bully armys and force us to fight back which in the end make us seem like we are crazy fans, but it doesn't matter because BTS knows us and we know them, so whatever is written in articles, whatever tactics they use against us, we got each other's backs and that's what they hate the most. Fans that believe the artist no matter what. But I think that as they get older, they have become more confident into calling out these injustices, and I'm happy for that. Suga mentioned something recently, he said that RM looks more relaxed now, and I think it's because they have reached and age where he doesn't have to be the only one calling people out, JK and V have become more comfortable on calling people out. I can't wait for 2025 where we will get to see a BTS that can't be hold back

Lmao thinking that Army are just "bots" when the fanbase is a global spectrum I mean them selling out Wembely stadium not ONCE but TWICE and it holds a capacity of over 100,000 its a testament within itself, but I guess those fans were bots too. I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this but BTS won the Social Artist Award ever year from 2017 to 2021. Then all of a sudden they decided to get rid of the Award. It was obvious that BB didn't want BTS to keep winning even though Justin Bieber won consecutive years before them. I think Boracity mentions this in one of her other documentaries. BTS and ARMY are unique. It's a Symbiotic Relationship that other artists just dont have. 💜

It’s crazy to me how fans “mass buying” songs and albums could be seen as less organic than radio spins which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the general public and all to do with who pays the money and who doesn’t. Also, just to add to the topic, bts gave an interview in 2021 with billboard that just further proves how billboard views them. They literally asked out loud what bts’ thoughts are on ARMYS working towards chart manipulation. They obviously consider sales (which is the only way to actually see if the general public genuinely likes a song. No mediaplay or payed radio spins) to be less worthy in comparison to the corruption that lies within radio and streaming. Here is a quote from the article: “It’s a fair question,” says RM of allegations that ARMY’s work amounts to chart manipulation. “But if there is a conversation inside Billboard about what being No. 1 should represent, then it’s up to them to change the rules and make streaming weigh more on the ranking. Slamming us or our fans for getting to No. 1 with physical sales and downloads, I don’t know if that’s right … It just feels like we’re easy targets because we’re a boy band, a K-pop act, and we have this high fan loyalty.”

In this age of technology, the general public are mindlessly consuming what is being put in front of their faces. BTS music and message has been about loving oneself, and asking deeper questions to encourage growth and freedom of self-expression. As Yoongi's lyrics in Haegeum states,"Freedom of expression could be reason for somebody's death. Could you still consider that freedom?"

2023-05-03 17:47:41 +0000 UTCI came to be an ARMY through Michael Jackson, when Michael’s nephew tweeted his gratitude to BTS for paying tribute to MJ through their song Dynamite. I think part of the reason I love BTS so much is the similarities. The obvious ones of course are the singing & dancing but then you can expand that to top tier discographies, commitment to performance excellence in live shows & music videos, both having an exemplary work ethic and their humanitarian sides. You said you didn’t think Michael Jackson was treated like BTS but before Thriller he was. The difference being their gatekeeping of him was more racially motivated as opposed to financially driven. Off the Wall is an album that didn’t get the recognition it deserved and was snubbed by the Grammys. Michael is said to have cried his eyes out the night Off the Wall missed out, but then he regrouped and vowed to make an album so good no one would be able to ignore him any longer - Thriller, which is still the biggest selling album of all time. I mention this because even today US media will have you believe it’s The Eagles who have the best selling album but on a global scale Thriller is number 1. Even then he had to battle against MTV who initially refused to play the Billie Jean MV as they wished to retain their focus on white artists. In the MJ fan community which also resembles ARMY in their passionate defence, it is widely believed that it’s no coincidence the character assassination of Michael Jackson started after Thriller. He was labelled odd, weird with the UK press giving him the Wacko Jacko moniker. He had gotten so big, the media wanted to keep him in check. They supported & often promoted the false allegations made against him, ignoring completely all evidence that exonerated him, because the scandalous story was much more lucrative for them. Throughout this and all the later tribulations he faced, he had a large, dedicated fan following - particularly in Europe & Asia. Unfortunately the media were more successful in tarnishing him in the US. Another parallel I see as BTS also don’t get the home grown support you think they should get from Korea. The US media tried to imply his career ended in the 80s but at aged 50 in 2009 he was able to sell out 50 shows at the O2 Arena - in just 4 hours. Once again BTS similarly have the ability to attract massive concert audiences, selling out in the pre sale phase without having to release to the general public.

Imagine having to actually live through all these events (I am a 2015 army) and having to stay out of social media for couple of days because the corruption/accusations got so worse. I remember when we sent flowers and cupcakes to radio stations for playing bts songs but later having the cupcakes/flowers be thrown away and talked bad about. I would highly recommend reacting to more boracity videos because I think it's essential for any armys to understand our situation and what we are fighting for/towards every single day. Here are some of my faves boracity videos: BTS vs Radios, BTS vs attendance award shows, "the next bts" and why they fail every time, and bts paved the way, why is it hard to accept?.

2023-05-03 16:59:46 +0000 UTCit´s not only the industries but also other kpop fandoms and western fandoms. they all team up against BTS just like they did today for instance. because another artist had to go to military. they blamed Suga for not going yet since he is already 30. forgetting that BTS had the only exception in kpop. all other men should enlist before they turn 29. everytime BTS win an award or an artist has to enlist, or what ever it might be, BTS is always the scape goat. so army has become more united than ever. we had to survive by fighting together like a real army. We are used to the media and other fandoms hate but only the hate army throw at them is written about and talked about as bad. Hate online is not okay no matter what. but they only talk about how wrong army is for defending BTS. it´s seriously messed up. in kpop every group has a fandom manager. one who write the fanchants and direct fans on what to do. But someone who works inside the industry know that the managers is also in charge of slander against rival groups. they have multiple acc write about a rumor and then every fan make it trend to get the word around. it happens all the time but the instant where it was so caught was when Jimin forgot to pay his medical bill because he was overseas at concerts in 2021. he has a manager in charge of paying his bills in that time. so the mail was being transferred to Hybe. but the mail was stolen before it got to the mailbox. so he didn´t paied his bill. it was later discovered because the person who stole it sold the information to the media. so the police seized jimins appartement. and the media wrote about him being a bad citizen. those are the tactics korean media and fandom do to keep BTS away. it happens every week. so Army has learned to back it up with proof. that´s why i love boracity videos because she is a real army who don´t just spread rumors she back it up. you should also watch "BTS and award shows" those a interesting too. but you will most likely get mad again hehe

Xceleste recently released a video that covers the details of Billboard's rule changes and the deletion of our sales. That will really give you an insight on how they sabotaged, and are still sabotaging Bts till this day

I've seen them change rules, I've seen them delete our sales, our streams. I've seen radio hosts being exposed, I've seen them receive millions of song requests from ARMYs, seen them throw away flower bouquets we sent them, and see them ignore us. I've also seen them play the same song every 15 mins on radio on repeat without people requesting. Billboard in particular, changed rules every time Bts topped the charts, its always at timings like these, and the rules are always AGAINST us. This time, they changed it in the midst of tracking week and deleted over 100k of our actual sales with NO explanation. When we tell you ARMYs fought our way up, we really aren't kidding. When we tell you BTS is one of the rarely sincere artists out there who actually care about their artistry, we mean it. They could have done payola and released full albums in English ages ago, but they didn't. They did music the way they want to, in the way they believe is genuine, and they accepted the ridiculous consequences the music industry gave them. Don't forget all the awfully racist things radio stations and hosts said about them. We are kwon to be protective for a reason, because the boys really went through shit. I know so many ARMY who are constantly running tests to try and figure out their tactics so we know how to buy and make it count, and I'm honestly beginning to believe that they literally just sit in a room and decide how many they need to take away just to keep them off the charts. I know it sounds absurd, but really their constantly changing the rules only that affect BTS or the members is so ludicrous. I am honestly a little surprised that more artists don't speak up about it because this behavior is hurting them too. Not to mention the fact that you'd think more artists had some integrity and wouldn't want their chart positions to be bought by their labels but instead earn them because people like their music. But what they did to Jimin was a new low, IMO. The fact that they just dropped 100k worth of sales which btw broke the record held by TS for the largest drop on the Hot 100 Chart, is just too coincidental. But the fact that I know how hard ARMY worked to try and get Like Crazy played on radio and to barely have any spins just completely proves exactly what everyone is positing. I tweeted quite a few times to record stations that if they are not playing the #1 song on the Hot 100 Chart then they cannot call themselves a pop music radio station, because how in the world do you not play the #1 song? And I'm not even talking about once, how do you not play the #1 song at least as much as you are playing the #2 & #3 songs???? Like it angers me so much, especially because it was an english song and they had absolutely no excuse not to play it, other than payola which of course they will never admit to because its illegal. But there just isn't any other logical reason. But also the fact that so much of ARMYs money was just dismissed and why because they assumed (even if its true) that those sales were from people who already bought the album. Seriously since when does any industry not want a person to buy multiples of the items they sell. Last I checked, I buy more than one pair of pants, I buy more than one car, I buy more than one pair of glasses, like the list goes on and on. And why is that relevant anyway. Don't they count for the charts the amount of spins a song gets and then base the points on how much that radio station has as their listener base? Ummmm so last I checked based on that they can't even prove that x amount of people ever even heard that spin of any particular song. Again it's so disgusting. And the ARMY bots or not wanting to count multiple buys because they claim to want organic representation of numbers for the charts -- SERIOUSLY -- like how much more organic can you get than to have your actual FANS outthere buying your albums and even better if they are willing to buy more than one. Like how is that not organic but allowing the labels to pay for radio spins and pay for their artists to get on the streaming playlists is somehow organic. It makes ZERO sense, because it's just wrong. As an artist I also don't understand why you wouldn't prefer for your charting to come from actual people buying your music than from your label paying for you to chart. Like seriously where is the dignity in that?

BTS, your reactions and music in general provide a much needed escape for me. As a Korean-American, seeing Korean culture become more mainstream in the West has been very fascinating to see and while I’ve followed kpop on and off for over 15 years now, BTS sucked me back in during the Idol era in mid-2018. I always like to play piano covers of my favorite artists and diving deeper into the earlier eras through your journey that I admittedly only listened to once or twice has provided me with an even deeper appreciation for BTS and their artistry. They know that Army is the biggest supporter in this crazy industry, and the way BTS loves and has loved Army from the start is so amazing and genuine I have always thought about this. The way us Army love them, BTS love us 10x more. I have never seen a group love their fans as much as BTS does-they literally make songs for US talking about their relationship for us and their admiration for US (Ex: Youth- "you're my best friend for the rest of my life"). The fan base for BTS is different from any other fanbase ever. It's literally amazing to see, I love to see and be apart of it. It's a universe on its own. <3

Youtube deleting millions of views, Billboard deleting millions of sales, korean charts FREEZING the charts & deleting their sales. and at the same time everyone not sleeping doing stream bc we are seeing how they are deleting our views and streams in real time, and checking all these charts to confirm sales and every stream are being counted. Oh god, i’ve cried so many times on release days bc i was so frustrated at the audacity of the industry. But it’s all worth it because at the same time BTS is staying awake til 3am saying thank you to us for doing so much and listening to their music when they see the charts. This might negatively impact the artists in the short term, but in the end would lead to positive change where they can earn money from their music and not have to use underhanded tactics just to survive (hopefully)! I don’t have to - I have paid memberships to a couple of streaming platforms but I purchase multiple versions of physicals and digitals to offset what the industry takes away. Mind you I don’t even have a CD player. BTS is the only group that made me watch award shows and talk shows again after decades. I subscribe to Disney (I’m not a fan of Disney.) I have a Twitter account old than my kid (who is 20) that I never used and over a decade later I’m tweeting and retweeting and using it daily. I dont understand how a group with not just a massive but also amazing discography, with a fandom made up of people who are much more devoted than I am doesn’t receive appreciation, excitement or at least, curiosity from the international music industry. How are they not a source of pride, considered national treasures in their own country by now? And this is also why I won’t support anyone coming from the big 3. I have nothing against the artists and the people who support them, but my money, time and engagement will not go towards companies that undermine the boys. I will support them as much as I possibly can. 💜

2023-05-02 23:28:27 +0000 UTCHello here’s a quick run down for streaming & buying guidelines with the most recent BB restrictions for all army here that may not know as we are now in Week 2 of D-Day support: 1) Premium streams (AM, Pandora, Spotify Premium, YT Music, YT premium) >>>>> free streaming accts. The weight for points for BB are higher as well as less filtering occurs when army streams from PREMIUM accts. Spotify currently has 3 months free for new accts fyi. As twitter army we have/create a bunch of emails for streaming platforms (& voting - more on that one day) that we use to get premium for accts in rotation. The higher premium & daily/weekly streams we get, the less sales we need to depend on especially with the new rules in place. 2) Note! If you buy albums/songs on iTunes for US Army - you need to buy each song on album INDIVIDUALLY otherwise the sale does not count for the chart. 10 songs = 1 album sale. So Jimin’s being only 6 songs were offset by the remixes released to get full 10. (Check your countries rules - I think in UK you have to buy the album in full & not each song individually) 3) BIGGER NOTE - if you use Apple Music to stream you MUST delete the iTunes purchases from your phone & library so streams are counted 4) When you create or use a playlist made by army ALWAYS make sure there are at least 2 songs between the focused song (ie title track like Haegeum) otherwise it’s considered looping & streams are filtered. Also for free Spotify accts - the charts only count 20 streams per song per acct per day. Meaning once you played Haegeum 20x throughout the day on your one acct every ADDITIONAL stream is filtered for charts; however, they are still counted for Spotify counters (total streams of a song/album). This is where we have use for multiple accts to switch to throughout the day. Whether that’s switching platforms or profiles. Bc we don’t have radio, we need high stream debuts to get on BB Hot 100 & BB200 so the less filtering the better. 5) Views on YT are also very important for BB200 charts. Not just for the MV but the Audio video as well (these are found under the member - topic profiles). Join the premier queue, watch with 2-3 other BTS/member MVs between each watch. These views help BTS on the charts as well as music show wins in Korea & year end music award nominations for MAMA & MMA. Don’t use playlists on Day 1/release day bc playlists add views 2-3 days later. Queues add views 24 hours later. 6) Buying - please buy for your respective country charts. For US, do not buy albums from K-pop stores. Those sales do not count for BB charts but they do count for Hanteo/Circle chart. US Army tho, we work to chart in US so we only buy from US retailers (target, Walmart, Amazon) & from the BigHit official store & US Weverse. For digital sales song & album - we buy on BH store, iTunes, Amazon music. For the BigHit store there is now a ONE (1) DIGITAL purchase limit per transaction per email for lifetime of song. This is bc BB no longer counts sales made in bulk. Ie if we bought OTS, Like Crazy & Haegeum in one transaction NONE of those purchases count for BB charts. Now we need to buy each song/album individually. And once you buy that song you cannot use that email to buy it again the following week. Need to use a new email. If you are on twitter there are a number of army funders who will send you money to buy songs & albums. Just need to request. [FYI alls sales still go towards the Tannies tho. They still get the money even if filtered plus counts toward IFPI charts at year end - so don’t be afraid to buy] VERY IMPORTANT‼️ if you buy on BH store you need to DOWNLOAD the song/album onto a laptop from your email before end of tracking week for BB (Thursday at 11:59PM every week) otherwise sales don’t count 7) Have fun with streaming! Listen to the playlists while streaming to help you learn lyrics. The repeat sure helps with that. On twitter we have constant streaming battles on Spotify (one starts tonight. are you #TeamInTheSoop or #TeamBonVoyage??) & YT to boost streams & reach milestones (we’re 21M away from getting My Universe to 1B streams fyi!) & there’s always Army DJing on Stationhead app (need a premium acct or Apple Music to join) on the ARMY radio channel & it’s honestly the easiest way to stream if you’re busy during the day. We’ll keep figuring things out like we always do. Army fighting! 💪🏻💜

Then you have people like jhope, who got so upset with himself for tripping in the butter performance at the Grammys, even tho it was still amazing. Because they know they don’t have any room for error. That may be their only opportunity to perform at that stage, or an opportunity for haters to scold them. That’s what’s at stake for BTS. They have such an unfair bar/standard held against them, while others can make repeated mistakes or get away with lackluster/poor performances, or mediocre music. I have purchased 4 PHYSICAL albums in the last 6 weeks (FACE, D-DAY, BE, SKOOL LUV AFFAIR). I have not purchased any physical albums of any band or group in at least 2 DECADES yet because I’ve spent hours streaming the songs I love they label me a “bot”! It’s outrageous and all about money and greed. I almost threw something at the TV watching the Grammys use BTS as click bait and then seeing them “lose”. The Grammys, Billboard etc. are the losers. BTS doesn’t need them and won’t stoop down to these corrupt industry practices. ARMY will keep their music alive forever! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫶🏻🇨🇦

Her videos are a good summary from army’s perspective with examples to back it up. I hope you will react to more in the future, e.g. her videos about fandom culture, radio and Spotify. Just a correction, the one sale per lifetime rule for billboard exists since the beginning of 2022. We already had discussions on army twitter about this rule change before Stay Alive was released, but I agree with the rest of her video. I‘ve learned about the corruption of the music industry even prior to BTS, because I was interested in this topic. Profit and power is the driving force, not music or artists. There are several articles about that from major magazines and some documentaries. Because BTS is an anomaly and a foreign act, it is even more noticeable how the music industry does not work in favor of BTS. One of the reasons why army is so organized, active and protective. They are forced to be like this to get fair treatment and representation.

Loved the banana analogy especially after the last live (I still think about that grey banana) but yeah the western industry is a f*cked up place and it should be demolished and built from the ground up again with the right ideology behind it. I hate the fact that music is not what it used to be and nowadays its all about who makes more money and charts the longest.

2023-05-02 22:16:52 +0000 UTCand this is why i get mad at some “army” for not buying, streaming, and voting. they think bts have reached a level so high that they don’t need this anymore, they’re self stable. when the truth is bts are where they are bc of what WE did to help them get there. the moment army stops fighting for them is the moment the music industry, both western and korean, kick them out. they want bts GONE under any means necessary including black listing them. i’ve been here since 2016, before bts became bts, even by korean standards. i watched this climb first hand. people have no idea how hard we’ve worked to support the tannies and how hard the tannies have worked too. it took an army, literally, to get them up there and it’s gonna take an army to keep them up there. i will always support my boys as much as i am able. they make music that saves lives. they make music that makes you want to fight for yourself. the least i can do is fight for them in return.

Slamming us or our fans for getting to No. 1 with physical sales and downloads, I don’t know if that’s right ... It just feels like we’re easy targets because we’re a boy band, a K-pop act, and we have this high fan loyalty." So one of my fav Boracity’s videos is Bts vs Radio. It is super in-depth and has ALL the receipts. It’s broken down well so it’s easy to understand and explains how DEEP the corruption of radio is! 💜

BTS never disses the ARMY but, loves them openly and values them. Other artists from the West and Europe are being schooled by the BTS universe and fandom But this is not only Army but most of the fan groups of K-pop groups. The rush in of K-pop music, hip-hop, and other genres of South Korea has the American music industry stunned. BTS is more than a phenomena, they are the new leaders in the music industry who give honor and respect to the fans who have made them successful millionaires. They also take responsibility to not dishonor each other or the Army. BTS understands that fans are the catalyst for selling their music and ideas. Let's not forget they have real appealing talent too! I know there is more to it but I really believe it also has to do with being Asian too, which is sad. Music is worldwide, America doesn't have dibs on who is the best or who can create it, or who can listen to it.
