Jervis Tetch was once a brilliant neuroscientist who also dabbled with invention and chemical advancement. However, as the years went by Tetch became more interested in the psychoactive properties of certain chemicals than helping people. So much more in fact that he began testing his new pharmaceuticals illegally. When he was discovered his colleagues called him 'mad', and kicked him out of his practice. But perhaps they were right to do so: Jervis was becoming a man obsessed. Quietly, in a warehouse on the waterfront he developed his newest drug, a gas which, once inhaled could make someone believe they were living out their deepest fantasies. He called it Alice, and began selling it on the streets of Gotham. His warehouse base became known as Wonderland for indeed it was to those who sought it out. One huff of the pink mist and a man could lose himself to the Mad Hatter's narrative about tea parties, giant mushrooms, horny animal people, and a nonstop sex party. The only catch of course being once someone had their first puff they would be all too eager to pay through the nose for another, and another...
